Ohhh, as much as I love your thoughts and perspective, I love seeing Albert a little bit more!!!

  2. Lindsay Rothschild on January 5, 2023 at 3:06 am

Well I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on a “mens suite” gray, channeled headboard and this was my sign lol ❤

  3. Lorie P on January 5, 2023 at 3:07 am

Great advice. Love the murals and love lamps.

  4. Kim Clarke on January 5, 2023 at 3:07 am

Your singing my song but I’ve been doing the blue and white vibe for several years. I also chose flower, handles, and latches in brass for cabinet ware because I just liked how they look. I tend not to follow trends, I follow my intuition. I’m getting a Gracie panel made and framed because I don’t want to leave it behind. This isn’t my forever home and though I’m doing lots of bespoke things I’m clearly mindful of not leaving some items behind because they are bespoke

I am so glad that I came across your videos today! I LOVE all of your ideas and how you provide information in such a kind way! Sometimes reading or watching videos from design experts can be a little intimidating, so I greatly appreciate how you share your knowledge. Also, as a former special education teacher, I have noticed that you include people with mobility issues in your tips which I think is so great! I am now a subscriber and fan of yours! 🥰

I love charcoal grey! Less is definitely more, and I think that we’re swinging away from it fashion wise. I’m looking to incorporate more taupe into my house as something with the benefits of both grey and brown.

  7. Peggy Margo on January 5, 2023 at 3:08 am

    Albert is a star! ⭐️

  8. Julie Morvern on January 5, 2023 at 3:08 am

Great love the antique hardware – we have a large long double sided fireplace we r doing copper on one wall for the fireplace in one of the rooms, and burnt metallic orange on the other – huge good art a David Boyd pair of paintings above , and an Olsen pair of paintings in the other room above. I like to have several prices or each artist to really get their design aesthetic/vibe happening. Nothing wrong with living in a gallery lol….
I’ve been very ill ( yes finally the dreaded plague – from a ‘friend’ who still held ‘the party’ with share platters even though she knew she was positive – because of her pre party effort and costs…. just so not cool….) so am catching up now 😉😘

Re: lamps-they also have rechargeable light bulbs that can be used in an old favorite lamp if there isn’t an outlet close by. An electrician might be able to add more outlets, too! My favorite Le Chic phrase: "….but, I love that for you." LOL!

  10. Lanfeartyve on January 5, 2023 at 3:11 am

Totally agree on the lamps and the issue with cables and outlets, but I am nervous about the environmental impact of batteries or poor craftsmanship and lifespan. I know that you are also very environmentally conscious, so I hope you can make a video on lighting this year with tips on how to solve those two issues in a good way. Thanks for all the great work! Happy New Year! 🥳

@GarrettLeChic Who doesn’t love lamps? Me. I fear lamps. They are so often ugly, and when I think of them I think of the hideous, over-sculpted, "leaping deer" or "flying pheasants" that flanked my grandmother’s sofa (yes, Garrett, complete with shade protecting plastic it was sold with…to keep the dust off, of course.) So can I request a lamp video? How to choose a good lamp, update it with an awesome shade, size options, the whys. All of it. Save me, Garrett. Save me from the curse of the ugly lamp? Also: apologies I am just now watching. Through the holidays there was no time to chill with the video.

    Thank you for your inspiration

  13. Toni Canny on January 5, 2023 at 3:15 am

I like grey but too much of it looks like Eeyore blew up in the room.
Love the darker grey/tweed look you talked about.

  14. T MB on January 5, 2023 at 3:15 am

Definitely been living our best soft blue 💙 life here in our house. Also murals I haven’t been able to do. I have a lovely piece of peel and stick wallpaper in our home.

  15. Christine on January 5, 2023 at 3:16 am

I love, love, love lamps! Have been buying them and rewiring them for my home for decades! I have all of them in the bedrooms in pairs (at least two of my sets took me 5+ years to find their match). Yes, I have on in the master bath! This year I outfitted all of my lamps (9 of them) with burlap drum shades. I love the look with my coastal grandmother decore.

  16. DJ on January 5, 2023 at 3:16 am

Thanks for another great video Garrett,
I like all of the trends you highlighted, most of all the small and battery powered lamps. I have them in quite a few rooms including the kitchen.
Happy New Year to you and your family (especially Albert!) 😊🇦🇺

  17. Debby Alder on January 5, 2023 at 3:18 am

Albert socks …. Gorgeous!! 😊 🐶 I really like the furniture with channeling …. I hadn’t realised that it was in the Art Deco era! That is the trend I will be adding to my home!! Love it !! …. And love your YouTube channel !!!

  18. Bela Thakkar on January 5, 2023 at 3:19 am

Hi Garrett , your videos make me happy at this time when I’m fighting pancreatic cancer . Ty for videos

  19. Mikki39 on January 5, 2023 at 3:22 am

I am intrigued by the wood ceiling in the kitchen, I want to do the cabinets on top a creamy white and a rich green below. Hmmm, always open to opinions. Is my idea, dated already? Thank you Garrett and I LOVED seeing darling Albert!

  20. BeckyB on January 5, 2023 at 3:23 am

Love that you love lamps! Me too! When shopping, I always go to the lamps first. They are like works of art.

  21. Zahra Aziz on January 5, 2023 at 3:27 am

Thank you for bringing up the textured walls. Nobody ever mentions those and they’re so ubiquitous.

  22. Megan Smith on January 5, 2023 at 3:29 am

The former owners of our house continue to impress me with their taste in decor- light blue painted room, marbled fire place, old times fixtures like door knobs. Thanks Garrett!!

  23. Stephanie C. on January 5, 2023 at 3:30 am

I love the lamp trend! I will be incorporating them into my home this year for sure. ❤️

  24. Jessica Rodman on January 5, 2023 at 3:31 am

I’ve missed Albert! What a cutie!!!

  25. Life at the Corner Castle on January 5, 2023 at 3:33 am

24 years ago I had my walls all textured with plaster (4,000sqft)! Now this year I am having them all smoothed out. Which means we have to move out along with all our “stuff” if you can imagine. 😳

  26. Constanza Florez on January 5, 2023 at 3:35 am

    Albert, is adorable ❤😊

  27. Enna on January 5, 2023 at 3:35 am

Ty Garrett for another awesome and educated video. I agree with a comment below. Once you watch LeChic there is really little purpose watching elsewhere.
I am thankful for you. God bless!

  28. hawaiishah11 on January 5, 2023 at 3:37 am

Where did you get the custom socks made from? If you have a link would love to know! My brother in law would love this as a present!

  29. Anne Marie Smith on January 5, 2023 at 3:37 am

I just painted my home in SW Greek Villa and it’s just beautiful! Thank you Garrett for your guidance. It really is the perfect shade.

  30. Lalena Rivera on January 5, 2023 at 3:38 am

The marble fireplace is so classy!

  31. laviwv on January 5, 2023 at 3:39 am

I love grey. Its a great neutral! My kitchen countertops are grey granite and backsplash grey glass tiles!

  32. Lorie P on January 5, 2023 at 3:41 am

Love my banquette in my kitchen

  33. Laurie Cosgrove on January 5, 2023 at 3:41 am

I will be redoing my kitchen from top to bottom and love the idea of using wood in some way in the kitchen but I’m not quite sure how to do it because the space is small. I would love all solid wood cabinets but I’m thinking that may be very expensive. What are your thoughts and how to I use wood in the ceiling area? Thank you for any direction.

  34. Jodi Plock on January 5, 2023 at 3:45 am

    👍🏼

  35. Tracey Wiseheart on January 5, 2023 at 3:45 am

Oh yes. Lamps. I am obsessed with finding them. I have one in my kitchen and on my console table in entryway. Living room. Looking for floor lamps too. I am obsessed! 😂

  36. Karla Pinkman on January 5, 2023 at 3:50 am

    Yes Art Deco 💁‍♀️

  37. Tina Plett on January 5, 2023 at 3:51 am

Love the idea of battery operated lamps/sconces so you do not have to hire an electrician if there is no outlet. Good point if there is a power outage, you now have options.

  38. laura presti on January 5, 2023 at 3:52 am

Love the old hardware, my house from 1937 has all the original hardware, not as ornate as Victorian but still a cool feature. We are also waiting for our French blue couch to come in!

  39. Tracey Simmons on January 5, 2023 at 3:52 am

I have a 1920’s home and it has vintage hardware through out the home and the 1920’s chandlers in the home are simply lovely to me. And blue yes blue is my favorite color all shades! 🙂 And as always your advice is right on point!

  40. Choose Joy on January 5, 2023 at 3:55 am

    Lamps.! “ I need 10 more!”

  41. M. Layne on January 5, 2023 at 3:56 am

I couldn’t help but order one of those battery lights you linked to above. What a great idea!

  42. Ms Trish on January 5, 2023 at 3:56 am

That sweater is on point. Just fell.in love with that color. Painted my thrift find green. Never considered that color until l look in my closet and noticed that l love that olive green.

  43. what1dreamt on January 5, 2023 at 4:00 am

I have a guest bedroom that has been quietly nudging me to paint it blue, I have a brass bed in that room, so I think I’m going to go with a blueprint blue, or faded denim color. Hopefully the room will be happy when I’m done, of course it may tell me I should have gone with the navy, haha

  44. carmcgee on January 5, 2023 at 4:00 am

Yay, I’ve been WAITING for more battery-operated lighting fixtures for a long time. My house is 98 years old and outlets are never where I need them. Thanks for all your great videos, and Happy New Year to you and your family (Albert included !) xxoo.
PS — my house also has glass doorknobs in most rooms, which I love.

  45. lana norris on January 5, 2023 at 4:00 am

❤ lamps! And the color blue! 💙

  46. bren manock on January 5, 2023 at 4:02 am

    Albert is the cutest

  47. Jennifer Tonge-Martin on January 5, 2023 at 4:03 am

I would love to see more light blue in my home, especially the ceilings. My blue and white porcelain looks flat against white walls, and I want it to pop more. I’m going to try some against light blue.

  48. V B on January 5, 2023 at 4:04 am

Albert! You are so lucky to have him in your life.
    Loving the blue too 💙

  49. April French on January 5, 2023 at 4:04 am

  50. Mary Christensen on January 5, 2023 at 4:05 am

Recently, I found a couple lamps with usb plug ins incorporarted in the base.. That is a trend that I love. I will never go back to purchasing a bedside lamp without one.
