After my last try at Ikea, where I never found area 6, or anyone to ask where it was, even with a map in hand, I said "NO. TOO MUCH".

Wandering around because Ikea believes you want to, and having no one to ask, this last time I managed to go back the way I came and leave.

Never had this problem in Pittsburgh Ikea or Cincinnati Ikea, just my hometown’s Ikea. And no, I refuse to travel hours to those Ikeas.

I live in North Dakota, no IKEA’s or much of anything else you talk about here but always love watching your videos.

So none of these are things Ikea doesn’t want you to know. Good info in general but false title doesn’t endear me to like or subscribe.

Once you build the furniture you won’t be able to place it back in your vehicle unless you have a big enough truck suv and is like impossible to take apart

I don’t where you found an ikea map that has a straight line for the sections. 1 I don’t see what difference the short cut makes. 2 I wouldn’t have thought they’d make a floor map like this 🤔

The vortex maze of IKEA keeps mer out of there but they do have helpful stuff

I just purchased those same 3 plants from ikea in person 2 days ago for $5 and not $13. No thanks.

I was at Ikea for the first time in 15 years. Shopping for my new apartment, at the check I had to pay 420 dollar…I was shocked.
Ikea is a huge money grabbing trap. Be careful!

  13. J. D. on April 13, 2023 at 9:54 am

The shortcut signs have been there for years. So that’s no secret or IKEA trying to fool you in any way. If you want to make sure you get through every section, then follow the arrows on the floor. Pretty simple.

When I moved into an apt after selling my home, I purchased a number of bookcases with doors, shelves for my bathrooms and multiple shelves for inside my walk in closets as well as other furniture. I converted one closet to an office, craft space using shelves that Interlocked to form a desk, etc. I am very pleased with the IKEA products despite receiving many items damaged in transit that needed replacement. Once CoVid hit a lot of products were not in stock and in some cases took months to receive mostly due to supply chain issues common to all retailers. The pandemic is still affecting supply. Although irritating, the IKEA staff has done all they can to help me find what I need if it’s available anywhere in their other stores.

I take exception to two things in this video. 1) Even if you have a telephone number for your closest store, you get transferred to the general IKEA number and don’t get to talk to a human for about 30 minutes, if you’re lucky. 2) I have been trying to get more shelf pegs for my son’s Billy Bookcase since May 2022! I’ve been in the store twice and asked for them. They said they would mail it and it would take 7-10 days. I still don’t have them. Then I contacted them via the Internet to follow up. No answer, and it’s been three weeks. Does anyone know if I can drill new holes into the particle board that the bookcases are made of and put in L-shaped brackets to hold the shelves?

Do more videos on solar panels. We need to know how cheap we can get them. It’s 2022 not 2002.

Bought a king size duvet from Ikea and love it, it cost £29.99. Looked on Amazon, exactly the same thing £70 Same for a lamp that I bought. Seems £70 is the going price. for most things.

  27. Stephanie Barrett on April 13, 2023 at 10:11 am

Funny I found you…was just there yesterday and almost had a panic attack trying to get out. All for a 12.99 throw. Then, when I finally got to the cash, it was 20 people deep. Left my purchase and went home dejected. Never again…..

One thing I always fear is giving too much info about my privacy. Although the apps etc are nice features and FREE, the reason they’re FREE is so they can obtain your cell phone information. I believe IKEA is a Chinese based company so I personally wouldn’t just hand over anything about myself so FREEly. These are the kind of disclaimers that need to be put out there for these great, wonderful and over the top helpful video’s. Nothing is FREE so you’ll pay the price somewhere down the line. Is it worth it, that’s up to you but at least you know. It’s just a suggestion to add that in with your amazing video’s. Thank you for all you do to get us great deals and valuable information

Who is watching this two years later after inflation?

  36. Valerie Devereux on April 13, 2023 at 10:22 am

Don’t call, they never answer the phone. Customer service sucks. But I do like the quality and sturdiness of furniture. I am a 67 year old woman, so I have them deliver. You can’t find someone to assist putting items in your cart, car or home from the car. But the delivery helps, because I can breakdown the box, and carry individual pieces to the area that I am putting it together.

I like that your videos provide captioning, since I often watch them with the sound turned off, but some of the captions are extremely annoying. It’s "wanna," not "wonna."

Omg how didn’t I know about that app!! Big like from me on this video!

Number 8 is for sure a cultural thing that can come off as rude in other countries. But Swedish people hate talking to strangers anywhere; on the bus, in the grocery store, etc. Being approached in a store while you’re just browsing, minding your own business, is sometimes terrifying and definitely uncomfortable. I’m sure that’s why these IKEA staff are trained that way, as IKEA is originally Swedish and that’s how we prefer it in Sweden. Funny to see how they keep the same concept globally. 😅

  41. Susan Hollingsworth on April 13, 2023 at 10:30 am

My ikea will not sell floor models. Not ever. For any reason. I’ve asked several times, the answer is always no, they don’t check, and they say it’s policy.

  42. Aura BG on April 13, 2023 at 10:32 am

well no everyone has ikea close to thehaiuse and honestly ikea shipping sucks so i rather get it for a 3rd part company

So if the price on something drops Ikea will refund you the difference provided you still have the receipt within 90 days. Who is going to be going back to Ikea just to go through a maze to find out if the one or two items they bought were lowered in price? Sure you could just check online but who is going to constantly go online to keep checking the same items for a lower price just to go back for a difference refund? I know I won’t. I have a friend who lives about 2 hours away from me and the closest Ikea is down the street from my house. For some people like my friend going to Ikea to get a price difference refunded will cost more in gas then the difference of the items price. So while this may work for some it is not for all.

Now Amazon. Maybe I am just not so lucky but I bought a lamp from Ikea about 3 years ago. It was my favorite Ikea lamp. Well needless to say I was moving some furniture around in my room and accidentally knocked over the lamp and it broke. Ikea no longer had the lamp on their website and when I went to the store I was advised the lamp was discontinued about a month prior. I was able to find the same exact lamp on Amazon from Ikea but for twice what I paid for it 3 years ago. Not sure if I just got unlucky or if Ikea just raises their Amazon prices on discontinued items.

  49. HrHaakon on April 13, 2023 at 10:37 am

If you don’t want to buy Ikea’s shipping, can’t you just rent a van or a trailer and go pick it up yourself? Here Ikea lends you the trailer, and rents you a van for cheaper than a delivery.
But that might just be local differences.
