CLUB RETRO

Welcome to my channel, club retro.

This is where VINTAGE LIVES!

Today we are looking at 1940s post war homes and do it yourself homes. Not much about building codes back then, you could virtually do everything yourself!!! The DIY boom was huge as the war ended and countries began to get back to normal economy-flow. Budget housing for the public. Enjoy!!

Join me in everything vintage as we walk through my vintage life. Here in Australia I buy thrift items, paint and try to sculpt reproduction vintage pieces. I’m not very financial, so the materials I have are not quality, so unfortunately they don’t turn out the best. But I happily attempt to do it and laugh at my efforts. ___________________________________________________________________________

I have some weird mental block against remembering the name of the first background song :-/ but I think it’s the absolute most romantic song of all time!
I live in a 1920 farmhouse and I’ve always wanted to decorate each room in a different time era, the 40s being one. Thanks for re-inspiring my interest in the project! 😉 xx

(I’m so not into pink, but I’d LOVE a pink tiled bathroom :-D)

My house is from 1947, I’m trying to incorporate as much original as I can, still has the amazing yellow and blue bathroom tiles and Cinderella blue bathtub is a nice royal blue. Just bought a sink to match with the cute chrome legs.

All those white people with the then new b&w photography film devices. Oh if only they knew what North America would be like 80 years later.
