Enjoyed watching but although I thought my home did not look old fashioned I still have wall to wall cream carpets and vertical blinds on my patio doors only bought last year, plus have the wood kitchen, but updated my work tops and appliances so it looks better,so I guess I did like the 80s decor as I seemed to have hung on to it lol.

  3. Jordan Merchant on November 26, 2022 at 6:34 am

I was a kid in the 80s but I loved it. My house growing up was guilty of all these trends. Also retrofitted with decorative ash trays.

I can’t be the only one that gets often intense anemoia when I watch movies/see things from the late 70s early 80s.

Me, I was one of those who dreamt about those novelty phones.

  9. Suzette Kath on November 26, 2022 at 6:37 am

Some of that kitchen woodwork looks more like it came out of the 1950s. Not the 1980s

  10. Patrick Mosier on November 26, 2022 at 6:37 am

  11. Lindsay Richards on November 26, 2022 at 6:37 am

I’m 44 and love going back in time to my childhood days. Where the TV and movies were great and the music was awesome. I still can’t stop listening to my 80’s music on my Spotify. This is one truly amazing decade that I wish I could just freeze in time and live in forever.

  12. mimi reacts on November 26, 2022 at 6:41 am

My bofriends bathroom had glass block windows. During winter it was always freezin cold in there.
1:14 my inlaws kitchen looks exactly like this
4:05 these curtains are still very popular amongst people from turkey lol
7:53 in germany we call this "Schrankwand". A true staple of german interior design

  13. Karl Hungus on November 26, 2022 at 6:41 am

I loved (still love) the Nagel prints in the 80s and 90s.

My moms colors for our house were mauve and country blue. She did the kitchen in hot pink

The 80s was the best decade for music and the best time of my life

  18. Bold for Christ on November 26, 2022 at 6:50 am

You left out shinny black laminate bedroom sets and furniture.

  19. Lynn Leigha on November 26, 2022 at 6:52 am

I remember having a glass kitchen table, until my drunken mom threw the kitchen wall phone at it and it shattered

  20. Tina Robinson on November 26, 2022 at 6:52 am

    😮I had a Garfield phone!!!

  21. Mist Réme on November 26, 2022 at 6:53 am

It still floors me that this stuff is considered ‘antique’ now!

  22. Nancy Vernon on November 26, 2022 at 6:53 am

The home decor of the 80’s was actually South Beach Chic. The glass walls, neon, chrome, large floral prints, art deco. All to help market Miami Vice. Think of other shows that were based in Miami like The Golden Girls. Heck even Tammy Faye Baker claimed she was from Miami. During this time S. Beach, Miami was also going through a revitalization process to bring in more tourists

  23. Iron man on November 26, 2022 at 6:54 am

My mother in law has a whole house painted sea foam green inside, still, and a big entertainment center full of books and movies with glad doors with magnets. Until a couple years ago she had the blinds with the lace shears and big curtains.

  24. Karen Bee on November 26, 2022 at 6:55 am

My mama worked for Venetian Blinds in Pigtowne in the 80’s. They used to assemble and spray color them. The ladies spray painted mama’s Balloon shoes so daddy wouldn’t finally toss em.

Y’all remember the clear corded phones that had all these gears and stuff to make it look like they were the phone’s insides? They made pagers like that too, usually slightly fogged. They were so hot in their time.

My mom gave me a crapload of those lace curtains. People used to use a valance, sheer, and main curtain all with their own rod. It was a lot of weight with full on cotton.

My entire home was covered in paneling. The last HO lived it. When we pulled it down, walls were pastel or avocado green. She also loved sponge wallpaper, which is in my bath and kitchen instead of green board or backsplash. It’s a real pain to clean.

Lol I have a skirted 3-leg end table. They’re cheap and convenient

  25. Workingclass Person on November 26, 2022 at 6:55 am

    80’s best years ever.

  26. Jon Gilbertson on November 26, 2022 at 6:56 am

The breakup of the AT&T monopoly meant you would now buy your phone rather than rent one of the limited selection of AT&T phones. This lead to more creative phone designs.

  27. Jaime 77 on November 26, 2022 at 6:58 am

Beat moments of my life…the 80s

  28. T H on November 26, 2022 at 6:58 am

My mom went through this thing where lots of things were stencilled…and a lot of mauve, dusty baby blue, and teal.

  29. J Rnfw on November 26, 2022 at 6:58 am

Our dad had those thick frosted blocks of glass in the front window of his home in Vancouver, Washington. It was an older brick home with floral carpeting inside, and was really quite cute.

  30. ¡Yo Soy! on November 26, 2022 at 7:00 am

    I like 80s stuff

  31. Jimmy Lo on November 26, 2022 at 7:04 am

Did not expect that image from Bachelor Party when you were describing the drapes, risque.

  32. Alexander Foß on November 26, 2022 at 7:05 am

Halogen lamps. They were the fanciest newest thing to have in terms of lamps.

  33. Gabby Soto on November 26, 2022 at 7:06 am

This video brings back nostalgia, from see threw phone to HUGE Entertainment centers🤣 my mother still has vertical blinds in the kitchen! and entertainment center in one of the bedrooms and metal décor on the walls from Home enterer. This is a hoot 😆

  34. Kathrine J. Kozachok on November 26, 2022 at 7:07 am

I hated everything! When the eighties arrived, I was in horrified shock thinking "What happened?" I missed the seventies.

  35. Greego on November 26, 2022 at 7:07 am

Yup. After watching this video I now know that my grandma’s house is stuck in the 80s.

  36. Lynn Leigha on November 26, 2022 at 7:07 am

I had the ivy and birds, lol, now all I have left are 3 butterflies and they hang proudly in my bedroom, lol!

  38. Mister N. on November 26, 2022 at 7:08 am

3:19 who else had these bed sheets?!

  39. Hothenrik4570 on November 26, 2022 at 7:09 am

Well, OUTSIDE the home: a great big satellite dish in the back yard! And inside, atop the TV: the control unit with multiple "satellites", with identifications such as "F1", "F2", "F3" and "F4". There was a round knob to turn to each "satellite", and each "satellite" had multiple channels, as many as 24. MTV was on F4, if my memory serves me right, and it eventually became "scrambled", meaning there was nothing but squiggly lines on that channel, as it was no longer a "free view" channel. It was a "subscriber" channel from then on. I remember I was crushed when that happened, as MTV was a daily thing for me, back in the 80’s–the "good ol days"…..

  40. Rosemary on November 26, 2022 at 7:13 am

I love how you do the commentary to this. Hilarious! Absolutely loved it

  41. Dawn Elder on November 26, 2022 at 7:15 am

Moved into a house built in 1992. Honey oak cabinets. I am keeping them. Solid wood. Will last another 100 years, unlike the new ones which start falling apart shortly after getting them.

  42. DRG on November 26, 2022 at 7:15 am

I still really like glass block windows or walls.

  43. Lynn Leigha on November 26, 2022 at 7:18 am

Man, I remember my my dad’s girlfriend having a huge fit until she got a mauve car, and it was fugly

  44. Roland Jaudes on November 26, 2022 at 7:19 am

Bring back the flowers lace, pastels, block decorations, the more frilly is good! Today blah gets the spotlight. Grey or muted colors are here, more blah. Then it looked, cozy .

  45. Tonya Ukanah on November 26, 2022 at 7:19 am

    You forgot plastic couch covers

  46. pearlswirl on November 26, 2022 at 7:19 am

  47. Anastasia Beaverhausen on November 26, 2022 at 7:22 am

EVERY Black home had the Footprints picture hanging on the wall!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I even had 1. The cable guy came up the stairs and said, "I swear I’m not trying to be rude but EVERY Black home I go into you all have this picture, why"? I told him to read it!! ❤️

  48. Lynn Leigha on November 26, 2022 at 7:23 am

Man, I have a glass top night stands with the skirts, idk, some things never went outta style for me, but gawd yes, those clinky blinds, was that just the thing to put them over a heat vent? I remember having to get special vent covers to make it stop

  49. Lilly Gordon on November 26, 2022 at 7:23 am

Didn’t have any of the c.rap shown in this video.

  50. 90sWizKid on November 26, 2022 at 7:25 am

We did not have lace curtains, our first cat (that we got in the 70s’) made sure of that; my parents still have their brass ducks and and a sea shells they use as book ends
