legit question, but why do people stealth camp? and all this talk about having to make a quick getaway?
    Other than that great info!

One of my friends replaced his normal interior white bulbs with the softer red bulbs inside his truck. Hate admitting he’s right but it really does help during stops when night time driving.

Thank you for this!!! I don’t even have a tent, and I’m not sure if I’d camp alone not being a man, but i have a fascination for this. 💕 I really loved your video and learned a lot.

I’ve camped where I am since the summer.
As far as I’m aware, no one knows I’m here.
Lavvu and camo net combo, fallen leaves are stuck to the camo, so I couldn’t blend in any better.

Guess these tips are helpful for fugitives on the run who are or plan to hide out in the woods. Otherwise, get real dude

My two cents: carry a length of window screen to use for lean-to or A-frame because it requires less wooden frame and keeps the debris from getting in your face. The nylon screen blends in better but the aluminum screen is more durable, either is very lightweight. Or it can be used to brake up the outline of your bivy or tent, especially if you add local foliage! I prefer to use a folding esbit stove with a folding aluminum wind screen which reflects heat back inward. Spray paint the outside of the screen with high temp black paint to reduce its visibility. Solid fuel tabs are much more compact and give more burn time than any canister fuel, and if you run out of fuel tabs then twigs, leaves, pine needles, even dry manure can be used with the esbit. Tea light candles also work well with this especially if you pre-warm the wax and sink some cotton pads into the wax giving you much more flame and heat, though a shorter burn time, of course! If you dig a hole for a dakota fire pit or cat hole, first place down a piece of cloth or plastic beside the future hole and place the fill dirt on it making it much easier to fill and hide the hole afterwards!

Hi,.. I don’t understand all of this stealth/hiding in the woods when homeless people are openly sleeping on the streets and in doorways 24/7 ?
    It’s madness !

  27. travis dodge on November 22, 2022 at 10:20 am

My 6 year experience of backpacking. My best setup is a tarp, hammock, military grade Paracord. Setup the hammock at about a foot below nearby brush, keep the tarp about a foot above the down branches of the tree. If you use a clove hitch, and use nearby foliage to tie off. You can break down and pack up in less than 5 minutes.

    Whyyyyy all that secrecy…??

  29. Antal Madincea on November 22, 2022 at 10:23 am

Related to the visibility of light at night. Red light is the least absorbed by air, especially in difficult conditions: fog, rain. That is why all over the world danger is signaled with a red light. It is the most visible from afar. If you use red light, you may see a few meters around you, but your light can be seen from miles away. For this reason I think blue light is best suited for a discreet flashlight. You see around you, but you are invisible from a distance. Maybe it would be a good topic for a future video.

Very nice video, but that seems to be an English accent, so what do you need to hide from? Bears, no. Wolves, no. Thugs, well yes, but do they really go out into the woods?

Small tents are terrible for someone with insomnia . It feels like being trapped in a coffin

  39. Robbie C on November 22, 2022 at 10:33 am

Get a hammock with a good underquilt and good all season sleeping bag.. they’re very easy to hide and extremely portable and easy to pack away in a small backpack. Also very inexpensive and most importantly, they’ll keep you off the ground.

  40. Chris on November 22, 2022 at 10:33 am

I do alot of stealth camping being homeless, on top of building’s are a good spot. As long as there are none higher close by. You can find outlets and water spigots. Other places are the back of a U-Haul at a rental company, if I’m tramping. But I like to get set up in the woods along the tracks, not many people around and tracks have less curves and less hills so shorter hike time. A hammock under an overpass, graveyards with gazebos….

My secretary and I have been "stealth camping" at the local motel for over a year now. If you sign in as Mr and Mrs Jones, you can easily avoid detection without going through all the bother outlined in the video, thus leaving ample time for other activities.
