Lisa, I’m curious about mixing metals in the bathroom. I am remodeling a tiny bathroom now. It’s not the master bath, but it’s the second bath that is in our hallway, as well as my daughters main bathroom. We remodeled the shower several months ago( it’s all marble and beautiful) and installed brushed nickel fixtures in it. But I REALLY want to add gold to the mix. Is it okay to use gold on my sink and vanity lighting? Do I have to carry the brushed nickel over to the vanity? It’s TINY, did I mention that? Lol! Help, please, and thankyou!

My toiletroom is 34×34 inches. My bathroom (shower + sink) is 47×90 inches. Keeping it simple and using the highth are key indeed. I also like my wallmounted furniture for they keep the floor free and that makes it look more spacious.

I have a bathroom that “tiny” makes it sound LARGE LOL!!
old 1970’s jack and Jill I guess you’d call it? Standing in one of the door ways- Cast iron tub on your left immediately on your right the toilet, directly in-front of you, the sink. All while never moving out of the door way. And the floor to ceiling window to the right of the toilet…. I’m 5’3 (and a half 😉) and standing in front of the sink, I can use my left foot to touch the tub and right foot to touch the toilet. 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s like 29 sq ft

nice looking brushed nickel finish with multiple water spray options

Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head.
We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have.

My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head.

Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who’s not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don’t accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it.

I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber’s tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there’s no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there’s leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber’s tape to remind you to use it!

It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it’s nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc.

After replacing the shower head, I didn’t see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head!

This might nit be the right place to ask but…do you have any suggestions for a bathroom with a huge jacuzzi that we have not used since the first year we moved in. It takes up,too much space. Us there a way we can disguise but leave the ugly thing intact. Yuck, hate it.

FYI: Daylight is 5000-5400k. A vanity light of 3000 Kelvin would be a pretty warm (yellow) light.

Lisa, my home is a story and a half, roughly 1930 construction. The upstairs bath has a sink and toilet and was fitted for a tub on the curved side of the wall. So a shower is out. Any ideas for a small tub that won’t break the bank?

  22. Pa Kou Tchang on April 5, 2022 at 6:52 pm

Great content. I see a lot of clean beautifully designed bathrooms with only one towel; I need real solutions, especially with accessories! Where is the best placement for a double bath towel rack that can maybe hold up to four towels at a time, a hand towel, and separate face towel because I do not like drying my face with a hand towel. How about bath rugs and vanity rugs that looks a little more thoughtful than the rugs from the bath isle from the department stores that are water safe? There doesn’t seem to be a video discussing this issue as it is not as sexy as upgrading bathroom tiles and vanities.

  23. Della Monk on April 5, 2022 at 6:52 pm

But wouldn’t you find accessing the close to the ceiling storage very inconvenient? I mean, I’m only 5’2" and wouldn’t want to have to get a stepstool every time I wanted change the loo roll.

  26. Michelle Arengh on April 5, 2022 at 6:57 pm

Hi Lisa, is it necessary to put tiles all over the bathroom walls, or is it okay to just put it inside the shower cubicle. Please help

  27. Amber Slahlize on April 5, 2022 at 6:58 pm

Our bathroom is so tiny, there is no wall space to hang towels. It has a bathtub in there, with a storage closet too deep to reach in fully without climbing on the bathtub or stool to gain proper access to it.
Oh, and there is a regular sized window behind the toilet. I am interested in major remodeling.

The original owners use towel bars to hang the towels inside the bathroom (that also has a shower installed in it). So just imagine the horror for a moment.

  28. Just Tubin on April 5, 2022 at 6:58 pm

I never leave items open or loose in my bathroom. I have everything enclosed or in covered bins. Smells and sweat or dirty lint will settle on your clean towels or personal toiletries. Remember Air rises.

  29. Deborah Dufel on April 5, 2022 at 6:59 pm

    Oh how great is this!

  30. Ruth Linares on April 5, 2022 at 7:00 pm

I guess maximizing space for storage is a major concern for big families. But I don’t see why one has to keep everything inside the bathroom when there are storage options in other rooms.

  31. Linda coleman on April 5, 2022 at 7:00 pm

    These bathrooms are not tiny.

  32. Diana Stacey on April 5, 2022 at 7:01 pm

I hate those pedestal sinks designed to make the bathroom look bigger and modern and because they are cheap. You lose all space to put toilet paper or anything else. Even mirrors do not have shelves behind because it costs a few books more. Bathrooms have a lot of dust from the toilet paper, hair etc. so I prefer enclosed cupboards and drawers because I do not like to clean. So rip out the pedestal sink and mirror to make some space for a hair dryer and tooth paste. Take one look at new homes being built. Bathrooms look great but are useless. I am glad I am living in an older home that was built better.

  33. Melinda Everyday on April 5, 2022 at 7:01 pm

I am trying to make over a bathroom and closet area in a master suite. The size of the allotted space is 11.5feet wide by 10 feet. That is all I have.the bedroom is the 11.5 width by 14 and I can’t make that smaller or the wall would cause me to move a window. Is there hope for me to make this a beautiful, small bathroom and still room for clothes. I am beyond desperate. I need help. Melinda
