Today, I’m sharing the 1st video of a 2 part series making over my friend Kelsy’s small loft apartment! Kelsy is a good friend of mine, who I met through my roommate Marie and she recently just got her very own studio apartment in Tucson, AZ. This apartment is just a tad over 400 sq feet and I wanted to make it super homey yet functional. As mentioned in the video, Kelsy has a muscle condition known muscular dystrophy, so ensuring there was space for her scooter and ADORABLE service dog, Duke, was crucial! Stay tuned for part 2…!

Is there a way to help me decorate my room
Is there like a price for your ideas, So i have a pretty small room it can only fit a twin bed no bigger and I need an upgrade… I want an upgrade but i also need a room that is functional and i can move around in. If anyone can help my i’m open to any options … If you are up for the challenge to help me we will start talking about me detentions and things of my room. My style is like a bohemian farmhouse, Soft colors , Pink, gold, yellow and orange are some nice colors

I live in Tucson and always wondered if you’ve ever come here to do a makeover! Please come back and do mine lol I’m so happy you could help her and give her a home

What app or website are you using at the beginning for floor planning? It would be really useful to me so if anyone knows please tell

  5. P bower on February 26, 2022 at 11:39 pm

Yikes… so far I’m not liking the direction this is headed. The bed right next to the oven/kitchen area? Not very great for cooking or entertaining. And the chair being the ONE thing she asked to keep in the space but you didn’t really include ANYTHING in the bones of the space that goes the chair in so far…. It sticks out so badly, like she grabbed it off the street cause she needed a chair.

    so much plastic wrapping 🙁

  11. Julissa Bernal on February 26, 2022 at 11:46 pm

You should use a loft bed or Murphy bed for a small room makeover.

  12. Brooke Aaenson on February 26, 2022 at 11:52 pm

The bed in the kitchen area was so weird.

  13. Ashley Ayers on February 26, 2022 at 11:52 pm

When this is a tiny micro studio to you… Tell me you’ve never lived in NYC without telling me you’ve never lived in NYC 😉

  14. Lmlei Lei on February 26, 2022 at 11:53 pm

Hi, what program were you using for the floor-planning?

  15. Suzanne Young on February 26, 2022 at 11:54 pm

Sorry, but I don’t like the canopy bed at all. I don’t think her prior bed frame was a good fit, but I would have bought one with a solid wooden or preferably textured fabric headboard. To me, the metal canopy frame draws all the attention to the bed, and the vertical canopy – to my eyes – makes the room look smaller. It puts a vertical structure in the middle that one has to look around and also move around if she, her dog, or guests want to sit on the end of it. I also would have gone with round side tables with a lower level to break up all of the straight lines, especially since it’s next to the kitchen appliances.

  16. aakaasaa on February 26, 2022 at 11:55 pm

The four poster dominates the space and not a good idea next to the kitchen area. The couch looks pretty and comfy. The arch locked the layout as someone else pointed out 🙁

  22. M AR on February 27, 2022 at 12:04 am

    omgggg she is cute😭😭😭

  23. Elaine Baldy on February 27, 2022 at 12:04 am

The layout was well planned and designed but with the incorrect measurements. The make over should have been delayed not rushed so that more consideration could have been given to the difficulties created by the room being much smaller than originally announced.
2 night stands were not necessary. The sofa was too close to the kitchen and certain parts were inaccessible to a wheelchair. Two armchairs would have been more functional than a sofa as they could be moved when she had company. Sorry Drew but I imagine you learnt a lot about special needs in decoration that you weren’t aware of. Hopefully it will work out and if not she can change it around to suit her better.

17:45 this is kind of the same process I do in digital painting; first using a smaller brush to outline the sketch and then going in with a bigger brush to fill it, haha. Really interesting to see it applies to painting walls as well

  25. Hannah Tovar on February 27, 2022 at 12:07 am

What do you use to make the floor plans? I just bought a house and have lots to decorate and put together. I would love to make a layout of it before I buy new furniture!!

    Great

  32. audrey04021 on February 27, 2022 at 12:12 am

Put the couch back against the bed foot and separate with Ikea ceiling dividers. Forcing furniture against walls is ALWAYS a limit.

  33. Tracee Easton on February 27, 2022 at 12:12 am

Hey Drew!! I’m wondering since you mentioned how much you got done in the first two hours if you might share what you do in the morning for energy? Do you have a routine, is there something prevalent in your morning that is important in keeping you energized and moving, healthy and vibrant? Thanks!!

i think the bed would fit well in the little nisch, that way you would get much more space and maybe fit a table. but this looks so good anyways!
