Somewhat of an unfair evaluation of the salsa maker. Been using one for years and am totally satified. You cant load it up with all the ingredients at one time. I do soft and hard ie cilanto and tomatoes, jalepeno, garlic salt, and lime juice. Then combine all in a bowl. Best part it does chunky salsa

Those safety can openers leave a VERY sharp top rim on the can. I know this as after using one I took my entire pinkie finger off.

That salsa master gave me an unforgettable memory as a 6 year old were I stupidly had my left pointer finger run the blade. 🤣 But that was a good item to have.

I feel like these ratings are biased since he is rating his competitors inventions. Who wouldn’t be if they’ve been designing gadgets for like 90yrs?

    Danimal

The 1990s are 30 years ago. NOT vintage at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do we need a container to dress a salad when we can just pour the dressing on it??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Nacho T on September 14, 2022 at 2:56 am

I remember the super slicer infomercials from the 90’s 😂 I begged my mom to get one. Of course she didn’t.

  12. Santo Tan on September 14, 2022 at 2:58 am

10:57 I feel like the salsa master is only useful outdoors or places with no electricity, and to prevent making a huge mess, or something.
    EDIT;
after watching full I was glad I was right.

10 seconds into the video and I believe we all can agree we need more of The Danimal.

It’s a shame that type of can opener is not more common. I have one and it is far, far superior to regular can openers. The lid doesn’t fall into the contents, the opener remains clean, the lid can be put back on to put it in the fridge, there are no sharp edges. It’s wonderful.
Technology Connections actually did a video on them titled "Lessons from a Can Opener". Worth watching.

    1990s are not vintage.

That was only like 10 years ago…..

With the salsa chopper I think it’s worth pointing out that it does not require electrical power. It may not have been important in the 90s but between energy prices, enviromental damage of constant energy production, and the real possibility of blackouts.
The future proofing of it being manually powered (and no useage cost) I think outweighs the 30 seconds or so that you save using an electrical version.

I’m Very pleased to see that Dan prefers to avoid using large quanities of plastic. (It’s a wonder material, lets not waste it.) That deserves some credit.
But I think electrical power is the next crutch that designers should avoid using where possible and conveniant.

  25. Janet Slater on September 14, 2022 at 3:16 am

I would not consider 90s "vintage."

  26. Ultra Rare on September 14, 2022 at 3:16 am

Will we ever see the kitchen gadgets he designed be tested?

  27. Lady Cactus on September 14, 2022 at 3:17 am

The salad blast would be awesome for taking salad’s on the go

  28. Science Over Feelings on September 14, 2022 at 3:17 am

For the can opener. You can use the normal can opener the same way as the Safety Can Opener. Just rotate it so that the cutting wheel is on the outside of the can and you have the same action. The difference is that normal can openers can do both.

  29. Matt Gammons on September 14, 2022 at 3:19 am

It hurts that stuff created in the 90’s is considered vintage now 😭

  38. Elizabeth Bentley on September 14, 2022 at 3:32 am

Kitchen wizard seems better suited for frying things or grabbing cooked pasta than used as a spatula.

yeah there is no need for a salad blaster. the bottle of salad dressing pours just fine. if i need to, i can spread the dressing over the salad with my fork.

It would be cool if you test even older gadgets. Like this in the link https://bg.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%94%D0%B6%D1%83%D1%80%D1%83%D0%BB%D1%8F%D0%BA. It is kind of a mixer. The text is in Bulgarian but I think the image is pretty informative.

Vegan food is terrible for your health. Especially your mental health, your body needs proper nourishment.

Vegan food= foods food (fuckwitts food)

I had one of those little "salsa maker" things. As a young mum it was a lot easier to use that than drag out the food processor every time I wanted to make mushed food for my son. SO I don’t think comparing it to an electric blender is fair – sometimes you only want to chop a little bit of stuff and the smaller tool makes sense.

  46. Tibicen Linnei on September 14, 2022 at 3:38 am

I had a salad blaster fot my lunchbox when I was a kid! It was fun for me but probably a pain for my mom to wash.

Vintage and 90’s? Not to me man

  49. Grey Thumb Shenanigans on September 14, 2022 at 3:39 am

What Dylan did in the 60’s was slick.

  50. Lydia Smith Jones on September 14, 2022 at 3:40 am

Super slicer also needed non slip feet. Silicone maybe. I’m surprised he didn’t address that in the redesign. It wasn’t stable at all, which the French mandoline was.
