My peeve is making people think curtains are more important than people putting food on the table!

  4. earth sister on January 5, 2023 at 3:07 am

I’m too functional to worry about an "expensive" look with extreme hand movements. All my windows are 3 layer thick roman shades that fit inside the window frame to keep heat or cold out. Everyone envies the look.

  5. TLC Forever Young on January 5, 2023 at 3:08 am

My curtains are closed at the top, with ties around the middle. My husband and I both like them. You’ll never be in my home, so you don’t have to worry about seeing them!

This sounds like a Ikei commercial 🤣

The WORST mistake in the world is to TIE drapes in the middle without enough material

  9. Carol Quincy on January 5, 2023 at 3:13 am

I have baseboard heat, so the longer drapes would block the heat.

  10. Wendy H on January 5, 2023 at 3:15 am

    Love all the tip
My livingroom drapes have that too short problem. Sadly there is a baseboard heater under the window. I rent so this can’t be changed

  11. Bob on January 5, 2023 at 3:16 am

Just decorate your home the way you want and ignore these YouTube people who try and tell you what you should avoid.
It does not matter what these people like.
The only thing that matters what you like.

  12. Desiree Threadgill on January 5, 2023 at 3:17 am

What about people who have small kids that will pull them down 😩

  13. Jhulia Landown on January 5, 2023 at 3:17 am

    Too much talking hahaha

  14. Car-Less-Ness on January 5, 2023 at 3:17 am

These mistakes are important to you b/c the trend is to have over length drapes or curtains. I do not like curtains touching the floor b/c dust gatherings, place for spiders and creatures to gather in, not good for pets, interferes with vacuumings.

I have gray wall n furniture what color for curtains?

  17. Joel Garcia on January 5, 2023 at 3:21 am

This trend of hanging way above the window isn’t universal. Sometimes it looks incomplete cuz there are no valance. Looks silly at times.
People have been hanging over the window for centuries. I think it’s just fine

  18. Kristine Rodrigues on January 5, 2023 at 3:23 am

So I want to get some curtains and have decided on a navy blackout drape. Problem is that I have grey walls and a white baseboard heater. The heater is hot water pipe not electric, but still for safety I do not want to run the curtains down to the floor.

    Screw curtains…

  23. stella marina on January 5, 2023 at 3:27 am

Who’s idea was to have the curtain rods high to the ceiling? Maybe someone did it in a low ceiling house. I can uderstand that. But in a high ceiling house it looks awful!

  24. chez mcCoy on January 5, 2023 at 3:27 am

    I love colors

Wow you must not have a dog lol 😆

  27. Renee Rittenburg on January 5, 2023 at 3:30 am

My vents are under the windows. I need the heat to circulate so my curtains are off the ground to allow circulation. However, I hang neutral curtains; light grey or white.

  28. Cozy Crafty Cat on January 5, 2023 at 3:31 am

Whatever. I am not picking up my curtains every time I sweep, vacuum, or mop and then wash them over and over because they get dust from the floor. I doubt the curtain police are going to come for me.

  29. majawow on January 5, 2023 at 3:32 am

patterns are like bottle of vine, if you re not sure go for more expensive

  30. peggy fiedler on January 5, 2023 at 3:34 am

  34. Lynette LaScala on January 5, 2023 at 3:37 am

Which iKea curtains were those in the black and white living room?

  35. Kat Brinson on January 5, 2023 at 3:38 am

Drapes puddled on the floor … hard no. Looks sloppy

  36. jitzmaster on January 5, 2023 at 3:38 am

Just so you know you lost credibility saying Ikea was your go to. They make crappy cheap products the break.

  37. Josephine Nelson on January 5, 2023 at 3:39 am

    Love the Linen White

  38. Shagler on January 5, 2023 at 3:39 am

  40. SoCal Gal on January 5, 2023 at 3:41 am

Yeah "grazing" and "pooling" works REALLY well in a Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi state! Nice living area for any type of spider or Snake 🤔 what else??

  41. Tyler Greenwood on January 5, 2023 at 3:41 am

1ve been telling people this that they are putting curtains to short they look awfull and not enogh across and then they say that they look nice they have no style what so ever or idea

  42. Susan Yauchzy on January 5, 2023 at 3:43 am

    And you don’t have 10 cats !!!!

  43. cflannery490564 on January 5, 2023 at 3:44 am

Are there others like me who don’t like the look of the curtains being on the floor? I think it looks sloppy and messy. Videos like this make people feel bad for not having that

  44. eileen mcgroarty on January 5, 2023 at 3:45 am

Long curtains do look better. However, living in UK, if you have central heating radiators, they are almost always sited under windows. This means longer curtains when closed, cover radiators keeping expensive heat next to windows . Only solution is short curtains

  45. Jan Lefave on January 5, 2023 at 3:50 am

Thank you. Loved your video with your great tips.

  46. Mr.Turtle on January 5, 2023 at 3:51 am

I have an open floor plan. Should I match the drapes and sheers from the kitchen dining room to the living area? Or should I go complimentary or analogous?
Thanks for the very helpful tips, you don’t know how long I’ve fretted over this. 😅 Just thinking and thinking about it. I just want some overall cohesiveness. I also want more of a personalized style, with little details that look interesting and thoughtful.

  47. Ll Walker on January 5, 2023 at 3:53 am

Depending in where your heating/ac vents are also determines how long your drapes can be.
You can’t have drapes covering vents when heat is on as it can cause a fire.

  48. Claudette Monty on January 5, 2023 at 3:55 am

I live in Montreal! Quebec where it’s cold in winter and we have under each window an electric baseboard so you can have long curtains if you don’t want a home fire!! What do we do???

  49. befunkrn on January 5, 2023 at 3:55 am

Really, really don’t like that cheezy pillow on her left.

  50. Suzanne Brown on January 5, 2023 at 3:57 am
