I grew up with very similar furnishings. What memories.
I love the late 70s decor
My Goodness! If we weren’t anything even we Were Colorful!✌️
I was born in the early 70s, and my oh my, most houses were so bold and colorful. Or so brown and dark. Not relaxing, tbh, and often not really pretty either.
We were so unafraid of color back then. What happened?
I remember some of my family members had similar furnishings and colors in their decor .
When home felt like it. Warm and cozy , and expressed individual tastes . Some decade wasn’t it !
This is perfect for inspiration for my pending 70s themed room! Thank you!
My Dad granted my wish orange and purple bedroom at the age of 14 ! ! Loved it orange shag pile carpet! I’m 63! When corporate bland didn’t rule design!
0:16….I had that exact vinyl wallpaper in my kitchen, with copper appliances, and avocado green indoor kitchen carpet. We had a green wall phone. Burnt orange shag carpet in living room, and a LAVA LAMP.
Don’t have much choice car colors and interiors these days. I remember car brochures showing all the wonderful color choices back then.
Once upon a time, before there was beige…and almond… Oh these scenes and colors and guitar pickin’ are melting my insides. This is beautiful. Thank you. Peace.
I tend to think of 1970s design as headache-inducingly awful. But the spaces here that are more understated are really quite retro and I like them a lot. The lines of the furniture are so distinctive, and when they’re allowed to shine without competing with bold patterns in the carpet plus the walls plus the upholstry, it’s a great look.
Love the wood accents looks better than the stainless steel morgue kitchens I grew up with.
Some of the living room photos have great architecture that is often seen in 70s era homes. I love the architecture of 70s houses. The decor, not so much.
A lot of people say 70’s decor was tacky but I like it. Everything is so sterile and boring now.
I am of a different opinion than some of these other commenters. I grew up in the 70’s and I remember all of this with great fondness. So colorful. This does not exist anymore. Now this is considered tacky. Garish. Not for me. I miss all the the colors. All of the artistic patterns. Now it’s all about being sparse and using neutrals and earth tones. A lot of the artistry and self expression has been lost. It’s sad to me that what was once considered great and beautiful is now looked at as a bad thing by many people. However, I am very aware that this aesthetic is still well appreciated by lovers of vintage decor.
When Shag Carpet was the hip thing too have.
Thank God that Era went out of style all that shot was so UGLY!! AND WAS THE COLOR GREEN VERY POPULAR BACK THEN?! WHY SO MUCK GREEN IN DAN NEAR EVRY PHOTO YUKK! SO GLAD TIMES HAVE CHANGED!!!
