Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed. Leave any future video ideas you would like to see in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe!
When people have been calling you grandma your whole life and at 22 you realize its just cottage core 🙃
Is there a design style that incorporates African themes? If so, what’s the name of it and how does one pull it off?
super super informative!!
Thank you very much for the wonderful video. Learned a lot about styles.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This video is just what I needed, Drew! I’ve been seeing a lot of Wabi Sabi & Danish Pastel-styled interiors lately and learning the actual term for these styles has been a game changer. I want to second the idea of you choosing (at least one of) these styles and renovating a space- maybe one that you love the most. I’m actually turning my walk-in closet into a craft room / vanity space type of set up and I think that I might go for one of these styles just so its feels like my sacred creative space. Also, I love the casualness of this video. It’s always exciting to see what projects you are working on but I also really value this informational style of video! Thank you for sharing your passions & gifts. -B 🌸
You are so informative and knowledgeable! Really enjoyed watching this!
I like to fuse industrial with farmhouse and add elements of moroccan and mid century modern.
Me, danish, drooling over ‘Maximalism’! Yaay! Never knew there was a word for it! So happy I now have a ‘Word’ or like a ‘Tag’ to make my inspo-search way easier!
Modernized granny chic ✨🌸☺️
What an informative and fun video! I’m upset with myself for missing it until now. Anyway…..would you ever consider picking a few followers to send pictures of some of their favorite pieces and then you give them opinions as to what their style is….just based on the pieces they send? You could suggest wall colors, types of accessories or even other coordinating pieces of furniture, that they’d like based on the pictures of the “favorite pieces” they send. Might be fun! 👍
I always love your aesthetic. So beautifully done as always!
I have been watching your videos for a while now and really love them! Love this detail and explanation and would love to see more and design trends and such explained!
I loved loved loved how they use to decorate in true blood.
Heya, could you do some headboards using thrift finds? I can’t afford to buy one I like, and the cheaper looking headboards don’t appeal.
Loved the three makeovers. My fav was the second one…the 1950s home. All the updates were beautiful.
I absolutely love this style of video, and very much enjoy ones like this where you discuss the many different design styles. Definitely among my favorites!
My preferences pivote between maximalism+ risky deep monochromatic+ moody academia…hahaha…I would love to see you trying deep vibrant challenging colours, thousands of textures and baroque cozy results in your place. Sorry to say I`m a bit fed up by the empty spaces in plain neutrals, earthy tones, airy lighty farmcore spectrum of whites??? (I know they are versatile and practical but not for me….)
Videos like this are my favorite! Very informative, interesting, and helpful 🙂
So is organic modern still a thing?
Fantastic ideas, I will definitely keeps these in mind when I redo my kitchen.
I’m so obsessed with wabi sabi and japandi lately!
Love this video. Thanks for share a few interior design styles.
Vintage dark Academia combination of I like it but there’s so many till like that it’s hard to choose
Academia can be dark.
I love what you do–you incorporate so much into each video. "Asian Light" design is my fav.
Great video! I Enjoy your channel! TY
Where can I find some tasteful gay male artwork?
This is so helpful
Biggest thank you
Great overview. So interesting.
Vintage Revival? Dark Academia? Grand Millennial? Granny Chic? Cottagecore? It cracks me up that these are now terms of art for what generations of us grew up with and have lived with for decades. None of these are a "new style." Trendy? Sure. But certainly not original. For instance, "Dark Academia" is mostly revisited Victorian which is a period in history. A very distinct period of style and politics and culture. It’s not just about the "stuff." To understand the origins of any of these "styles" you need to really understand history and what was going on in the world at the time. Nothing happens in a vacuum. There is always cause and effect; a reaction to what came before. But I digress, I applaud the sustainability; and if 20 somethings think they discovered it? That’s cute. Knock yourself out. So much more creative than Ikea and Target. Save and treasure old things no matter what "style" name you want to give them. If they are preserved I’m all for it.
drew I wanna see you go out!! I wanna see your opinion on different hotels or restaurants and vibes~ leggoo❤
Sorry to have to point this out, but “Unsatur” is not a word : Unsaturated is the word you intended. I get that speeding your way through everything is your M.O., but for editing ? You clearly need to s l o w d o w n. . . .
Casual and educated AF!! You’re the best
Danish Pastel makes me laugh because it looks like a early 2000s pre-teen girl bedroom, all it’s missing is a back street boys poster 😂 Looks very Lizzie McGuire….and as someone who was a preteen girl in the early 2000s I love it 🤣😍
I’m a Cottagcore Sun, Dark Academia Moon, Vintage Revival Rising.
Wow great
you have a refined eye for decorating, like all 3 but the bedroom was my best… hope i can send u pics of my mobile home i purchased a few months ago..
Wow! Your room makeovers were awesome.
My fave has to be the Vintage Revival! 😍
You always inspire me, Drew! Thank you! 😊
Drew is so knowledgeable and creative. I enjoyed it.
I call my style as Global Traveller as I have pieces from the five countries I’ve lived in, and so many more I’ve visited.
Can you guess which they are?
we live in an MCM home, my partner started out Modern but then found Chinese Vernacular 1800’s furniture that blended well with the MCM furniture, but then the Chinese pieces started taking over and we were living in a Chinese restaurant. I put my foot down and now we live in an MCM styled home with Finnish accents.
I loved this video! Really informative. I love New Maximalism and Japandi. Even though they’re like diametrically opposed, I just love the style! Great inspo images throughout
Could you please recommend books or any other media where it is possible to learn and get to know more interior styles?
Fun fact:
For years, the Danes wore only black clothes. The interior were black, white and gray as well. Every time foreigners visited Denmark, they would notice and comment on this – especially the clothing. I think the pastel colors are Danes’ revolt against the black era xD
Tulum is not an island😅😅
love this kind of video because im constantly trying to find/define my design style. very interesting and informative! I think I WANT Japandi but then end UP in Danish Pastel land haha
Im building a new house and have been using monocromatic pale periwinkle gray color. Sherwin Williams daydream and starry night, Builder was not sure but now she loves it…
