Life is a series of calculated risks. But when we took the plunge to sell our house and hit the road as full time RVers we had a pretty good idea that we would love it. And in the end, if we didn’t we could just sell the RV and buy a house again. However, full time RVing isn’t for everyone and it’s important to know all the nitty gritty details before you sell everything and attempt to live on the road.
For instance, I always needed a very strict schedule and if we didn’t stick to it I would become very stressed and frustrated. I learned early on that having a very organized schedule was going to be hard between breakdowns, bad weather, and our own newbie mistakes, our plans needed to be changed on a weekly basis. So, I had to learn to go with the flow!
Thankfully, you can get used to most of the nitty gritty issues with full time RV travel. However, if you know you wouldn’t be happy with these 8 reasons why you shouldn’t RV, then it’s a good idea to not upend your life and attempt life on the road. Testing the waters with RV rentals is an amazing way to get your feet wet and determine if you’d like full time RVing without the major risk of hating it after you’ve committed by selling everything from your old sticks and bricks life. Check out the video below to see what we think are 8 reasons why someone should NEVER full time RV!

Damnit I think that girl in the videos so cute too bad she settled down with a dork
I live in my 5th wheel full time but it’s parked at a mobile home park I have large yard etc love it when I go camping I take tents to campsites
I live about an hr east of Fort Wayne, been here for most of my life ( at least northern east IN.) Thanks for sharing this video!
Thank you for this!
From 6:15 to 7:25, I like what am seeing…
Where have you guys been haven’t seen any new videos from you are you done Irvine and got a job and living a home now or apartment please let me know or did you run out of stuff to talk about I remember you left him and he was on his own for a while so please update me
I’m thinking replacing the toilet and black tank with composting toilet will take care of the dirty job of emptying.
Surely everything pertaining to the calendar is more to do with your YouTube channel than just living in an RV full-time? I really don’t think chemical toilets and black tanks are on everyone’s agenda. I personally couldn’t live with a chemical toilet but don’t have a problem with composting toilets so I don’t know if your second one is relevant either. I suppose it’s all relative though, you have pointed out some good things people should be aware of. The condensation problem affects small houses too especially if you use gas (propane, butane whatever, it creates a ton of water) and if its cold it condenses everywhere. That’s 5he main reason I use woodstoves in my small building.
I was out at "poop pyramid" 5:00
I feel like you guys need a bigger travel trailer
i have a 1000 gallon hot water tank true story
That’s a travel trailer not an rv…it’s not a vehicle lmao js
Would love to hear your thoughts on the RV craze that seems to have taken off with large families (people with 6+ kids). This looks like it could be fun with a couple, but I can’t imagine that space for 10+ people!!
I’m in fort Wayne right now like why come back half the year lol
I just started full timing in my Jayflight and you guys missed one major thing. They leak mosquitos like a sieve! I don’t know how they’re getting in here, but I’m waking up to go to the washroom during the night and I always have to grab the flyswatter and play a 20 minute game of mosquito swatting. Only to wake up an hour later to a chorus of 20 more skeeters buzzing around the place. What can I do do stop this? I’ve looked everywhere and I just can’t find where they’re getting in!!!
You wasted water like that 😳🤯😢

Thank you for supporting the channel ♥ If we’ve done our jobs we’ve inspired someone to chase their dreams!
This lifestyle would be more of a pain than a pleasure for me.
A tiny house would allow a permanent well and septic as well as a permanent solar panel setup. Having a real garden would also be possible.
I think it would be helpful to clarify that what you guys are doing is called full-time boondocking, which carries with it a lot more concerns than just full-time RVing at a grounds with water/power/sewer hookups.
Cat on stove! Why?
I am naming my next song "poop pyramid"
I couldn’t do this lifestyle honestly (at least full time!) camping is good. I grew up camping and I loved it!!! I don’t think people with kids should be doing it all all
Thx
I always thought RVs were cool, but much like boats, they aren’t an investment. Boats and RVs only decay and depreciate in value. It’s a money sink, you put money into it because you love doing it, it becomes a lifestyle. Grilling is my money sink hobby, because I get to cook lunch for everyone. I’d like to get a nice big grill one day so I can cook for the whole neighborhood.
You guys should upgrade to an Oliver trailer
So they’re brother and sister right? They look like fraternal twins…
Wait a minute, are you guys twins…….ahahaha
Pretty cool you are from Fort Wayne! I’m in Harlan 6 miles out from the fort! I have been researching rving full time because I’ve been considering doing it when I full time retire in about 11 years. I figure I have a good amount of time to research and learn about it before I decide for sure. You are giving great info, thanks!
My scary desert story:
2015. I was in the SW USA enjoying nice weather in the desert. I pulled up to a nice spot to hike and have a snack. Beautiful weather, nice breeze, no one around for miles and miles yet I could clearly hear about 15 or 20 large trucks, like dump trucks and large back hoes struggling with heavy weight, beep beep of trucks backing up but there was nothing around for miles and miles. I drove around to see if I was missing some major construction but nothing, no cars, no trucks nothing but desert. I went back to the spot and there it was again, lots of machinery at work, dump trucks dumping and bouncing the bin like to get all the dirt out, loud. I got on my hands and knees and found the digging was coming from under me, under ground.
As I stood up, I saw before me two big white trucks with black windows facing me, shiny like right off the show room clean, no dust on them. I got a bit nervous and turned around to drive off and saw two more of the same trucks behind me, they just appeared out of nowhere. Now I was scared. Got in my truck and drove off. It was a decent drive to the main road and I kept looking behind me, they weren’t following me. When I finally got to the main road there were two more trucks just like the others, bright white, like right off the show room floor, all windows were tinted totally black. I got on the road and they took off after me. One right on my bumper and the other trying to pass me. I was going 90 miles an hour swerving two lanes, when I’d block the truck passing me the one behind me tried to take me over. This went on for about 10 minutes when I saw a store off an exit and I took that exit. The two trucks slowed down and did a U turn and returned.
Why did they wait for me to get to a main road, they could have wiped me out in the desert and no one would find me. I was sure they’d come finish me off but I had no other contact since. I’m thinking they wanted to scare me and they did. I’ve never even gone close to that location in the 7 years since then. SOMETHING BIG is being built underground in the desert by someone very powerful (the government??). A few years later I saw a video of some Van Folks going to Area 51 in Nevada. They crossed the line and were approached by security in big white trucks, just like the ones that chased me. Did I stumble on Area 51 1/2? Those trucks literally came out of nowhere, they didn’t have a speck of dust on them. Crazy.
You kids these days, turning the water off while brushing was one of the first things Cpt. Planet told us, plus if you lived in the country, you became aware early on, that leaving the water on, stresses the water pump, runs up the electric bill, and helps to fill the septic tank, which is expensive to get pumped out.
Yep. You talked me out of it. Thanks. I never would have thought of condensation issues.
I would have to follow the tour bus rule. No number two on the RV.
One big reason you have no choice and niether does America
look like im unsuited for full life rving.i hate it when stuff failing around me, and hated even more need to go to repair shop. but maybe part time rving is better for me once in a few month a few days boondocking should be enough
I am OCD as well and I cannot get how you can allow the cat on the counter and the HUGE doggie on your bed! I give you applause 👏🏻 for being able to handle that!
Dog on the bed and cat on the counter…………..GROSS !!!
cat and dog don’t care at all ))
I lived in an RV (in Britain) for about a year then I moved to Spain, bought an apartment and took a job in sport (skydiving).
I loved the Spanish climate, I absolutely adored my job (who wouldn’t love the freedom of flying and getting paid for it?) and I loved my friends.
Now I have 67 years, my fitness is still ok but staying in shape to jump from an airplane 8, 10, 12 times a day is challenging and anyway I want to do other things before I reach my dotage.
I’m going to head back to the UK (my spiritual home) and I’m going to enjoy the freedom of RV living for the rest of my days.
RV living is perfect freedom and never let anyone convince you that it isn’t.
OCD??
That cat needs to be off the cooker asap then!!
Plenty of good tips🇬🇧👍🏻👍🏻
shame you didnt know about the awesome big buddy portable propane heaters, wicked efficient, you would need airflow and exaust ect, but believe me you wont ever be cold.!!!
After researching pros and cons and watching YouTube videos living intentionally 24/7 in a RV is not a lifestyle for me.
what do you do for a living to be out there?
I like to watch tv .. problem ??
Your such a lovely genuine couple I think you’ll cope and make a success of anything .great channel great videos .🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇲🦜👍🇬🇧❤️☮️
♫ Its a dirty job, someone gotta do it ♫
I really liked this video. I went off grid for a while before and wish there had been more videos like this. Water is a huge thing that you normally don’t think about
Please take off the denim jacket again. That was a real treat
the dog smiling in the background though
The mobility part is a plus but I think doing the tiny house thing would be more practical for someone who likes more stability.
I think, to be honest with you, it’s the TYPR of RV you have that really makes the difference AND the type of lifestyle you intend to do that can change these situations for everyone!
