No way I am sharing my favorite free spot, I do not want too many campers up there.

  2. Richard Coyle on March 31, 2023 at 10:42 am

Good info and yes we would camp there.

  3. cheryl2455 on March 31, 2023 at 10:43 am

    Great video!

  4. Larry Miller on March 31, 2023 at 10:44 am

Love your spot. Boondocked near williams with 36 foot class A. Have solar, lithium, love it like you guys do. Enjoy , thanks Larry Miller

  5. Brian Isom on March 31, 2023 at 10:45 am

Did you leave your rv there & go visit the grand canyon or did you take your rv with you?

  6. Yanqiu Ke on March 31, 2023 at 10:46 am

Tom, What forum do I go to on your channel to ask you a question about an item that I saw on your old rig? I just don’t want to bore someone else with the question on this channel.

  7. Everything RV by Pat on March 31, 2023 at 10:47 am

    Hi guys,
We would definitely camp there. Looks beautiful there. We are going to spend a few nights next month near Flagstaff. Maybe next year we will get up to the Grand Canyon. Meeting my sister and her two boys there to take them camping and make some great memories with them. We just added solar and we are excited to get out and try it out. If we run low on battery life we aren’t afraid to set up the generator. Our solar package isn’t quite as extensive as yours looks but we do have all the outlets, microwave, refrigerator and television hooked up to the inverter. Just can’t run both AC units.
Loved our lake Powell adventure too. Check out one of the slot canyons in Antelope Canyon if you can. Check this out: https://youtu.be/pe8asxc9kqA
Or you can camp on the beach of Lake Powell: https://youtu.be/_zCo88j_9A8
    All the best,
    Pat

Protect your space especially since there are tons of spots for others. Some like to weirdly park on top of others…

I’m starting my research for heading to the Grand Canyon trip and this was my video to get some info & ideas. Your video was a real dissappointment! I got hardly anythiny helpful. Well there’s 22 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

Your level of selfishness in blocking others from entering is sickening.

How does that solar work in the shade

  15. Diana Bergeron on March 31, 2023 at 10:57 am

We haven’t boondocked yet, but I’d be afraid of my tow vehicle getting vandalized…again, I haven’t experienced “boondocking/dispersed camping yet. So please don’t judge my comment.

  16. spencermarlow on March 31, 2023 at 10:57 am

Now the place is overcrowded and trashed because of these types of videos and geo tags people try and make money off of.

  17. Justin Hallowes on March 31, 2023 at 10:57 am

isn’t that an elk not a caribou?
    they both taste good 👍

  18. Tom Warren on March 31, 2023 at 10:59 am

    Caribou!!!! Elk people…elk!

  19. stampinsher on March 31, 2023 at 10:59 am

Nice spot! A little too close for us to the road but now we understand you require a signal at each stop to work. You asked and I will be as delicate as possible with my answer. Do NOT block the road Especially if there are additional sites beyond you or around you. That is just outright RUDE.
SAFETY FIRST, remember an emergency vehicle might have to come down that road. (It could be you who needs HELP).
If you don’t want to be close to anyone, seek out another site further away. MOVE if anyone is too close to you.
Understand the closer you are to the a MAIN ROAD, the larger chance other people will be just as close as you. Think, WHY did you pick out this particular spot? Well, others may need the same requirements.
Many people want a fast "get out" of a spot close to the main road too.
Please please don’t block that is NOT the polite way of doing Boondocking. It will give us BOONDOCKING RIGS A VERY BAD REPUTATION.

  20. NatureWRX on March 31, 2023 at 11:00 am

Just put solar on my rig but last summer spent 2 months boondocking in Island Park just outside of Yellowstone.

  21. Tom Warren on March 31, 2023 at 11:01 am

So you know, there are no longer any wild caribou in the lower 48…unfortunately. To see caribou head way way north…Alaska has a plenty along with Canada.

  22. 320dak on March 31, 2023 at 11:01 am

Welcome to boondocking! It is a wonderful way to enjoy nature.

Couple of pointers though so you do not piss off other boondockers. Do not block a road like that, even if it seems to be a side road. Many of those side roads are used by atv’s and there may be other sites farther in that other campers can get to. Sounds like you had a bad experience with your first time boondocking. Most people are respectful about it.

Do not run your generator after dark or early in the morning! Usually 8am to 8 pm or dark is a safe time. People want to enjoy nature and a generator ruins the quiet. The sound can travel a long distance when it is peaceful and quiet.

A signal booster is almost a must if you boondock a lot. Last summer it really helped us especially with a teenager. I know, they should enjoy nature! But, our sanity was saved!!!

Go out and have fun! Looks like you guys are really enjoying it! Boondocking is our preferred way to camp.

  23. Butch Kelin on March 31, 2023 at 11:02 am

Sounds like you guys are running your inverter 24/7. That wastes power very quickly because the inverter is using current just to be on even when no appliance is being used. Check to see if your inverter has a standby mode where it will only use current when there is a draw. Even better turn it off and only use 12 volt circuits till you need the 120. Then turn it on, use the appliance and turn it off. That will triple your battery capacity even with no sunshine.

  24. Brett C on March 31, 2023 at 11:03 am

Great Video!! Enjoy… It looks awesome!

  25. Alaskan Homesteader on March 31, 2023 at 11:04 am

  26. Diane Ozuna on March 31, 2023 at 11:06 am

Love the video. But then again I love them all. What time of year did you visit the Grand Canyon?

  27. Nancy MacIntyre on March 31, 2023 at 11:07 am

  29. Lorraine Anderson on March 31, 2023 at 11:08 am

Love the crown. I love boondocking too! Thanks for all the spots near the Grand Canyon.

  30. Joe Hallenbeck on March 31, 2023 at 11:08 am

Though I agree with your sediments I would have to say blocking the road would fall under one of two categories. 1) it would be illegal to block the road if it’s an actual road under the Forest Service system. You could be ticketed or towed. 2) what right do you have of blocking the public from public land. That’s called being a jerk and driving Rangers crazy from complaints from the public who have to deal with individuals who treat public land as their own. It’s not your personal land. What your doing is violating public use regulations.

  31. James on March 31, 2023 at 11:10 am

Always worth a laugh – “Caribou” yea right! and that was at 2:45 into the vid…

  32. Tony on March 31, 2023 at 11:10 am

So it free to everybody until some Jackass blocks the road.
That’s just wrong. What give you the right to block anyone from being able to camp?
Sure it private you blocked the road. What an ASS.

  33. William Settles on March 31, 2023 at 11:11 am

Your comments re the tree having been on fire: Nature controls herself in many ways. Natural fires from lightening and other sources help keep the forest in check and prevent the monstrous raging fires like those in California right now. A low-burning undergrowth or "duff" fire will burn off that undergrowth while not permanently harming larger trees thus controlling the forest floor. In fact, some fires cause certain plant seeds to "pop" and begin their growth cycle.
Another poster mentioned the size of your campfire; I would agree it was WAY too large and essentially out of control. I’m surprised you weren’t visited by a friendly Ranger carrying a bucket of water. A tighter build on the body of the fire will result in more complete combustion and less sparks and particles (smoke) leaving the site and drifting about. And the old saw about drowning your fire still applies. Pour water over the coals when leaving the fire unattended–bed, town, departure. As Smoky Bear says…"Only YOU can prevent forest fires…!"
    Safe travels…!

  34. Compass North on March 31, 2023 at 11:12 am

WOW ! Can’t believe you would actually block access to others on Public Land. Are you aware that any damage done to your vehicle while not on a legitimate "Public Road" road may not be covered by your insurance? It may be different in the USA but in Canada, if I damage my vehicle or whatever while "off-road" not "non-public road" my insurance does not cover me. I know around here….if someone were to block access to "Crown Land" ( in Canada Crown Land is the equivalent to BLM ) with their vehicle, they might very well return to find their vehicle damaged. I know it sucks to have someone pull up and camp near you when you are parked and camping in a BLM area, but it IS A BLM area. It’s not yours personally. They have as much "right" as you and you have the "right" to pull up stakes and move or stay there and go with the flow. I’m sorry, but I totally disagree with your behaviour regarding blocking off camp sites you deem "too close" or road access etc….Don’t be surprised if one of these times you find yourself confronted by an aggressive traveller or your property damaged. I would never camp close to someone if there was room further away, but I have no right to prevent someone else from enjoying their rights either. Maybe we’ll just agree to disagree….LOL

  36. Doug Thompson on March 31, 2023 at 11:18 am

I’m really hoping this video was shot weeks ago because all AZ national forests are in stage 1 fire restrictions meaning no wood burning fires. Our poor forests are so dry and our fire season started extra early this year 😭 Love love boondocking in Northern AZ ❤️

  48. Teri Cranford on March 31, 2023 at 11:32 am

I feel the same way as you about privacy and would block the entrance. However, I can see where some people may be offended as some feel entitled to control others. You are out there to relax and be at peace. Others should not judge and worry about what you are doing. Who is to say that you are not expecting a family group to join you? Perhaps you have a large dog that doesn’t play well with others. Maybe you have screaming kids. 😂 Blocking the road may be your way of protecting other campers. Perhaps you have a sick spouse that needs to be away from close contact with others. The scenarios are multiple as to why someone would not want others near their campsite. It’s selfish and self-centered of someone to get upset and feel a need to “report” it. For heaven’s sake, the campsites are plentiful. Move on and be at peace! Justness my two cents; rant over. 🤷🏻‍♀️😉

  49. TheHoosier1972 on March 31, 2023 at 11:34 am

Wife and I stayed on FR328 for a week in Oct 2019. Incredible just as you’ve described. Actually happen to overlap Jason and Rae (Getaway Couple) and got to meet them boondocking in same spot. Hopefully see you guys on the road sometime. Love the content.

  50. Marvin Evans on March 31, 2023 at 11:35 am

We want to get back to the Grand Canyon and prefer to boondock, so thanks for sharing how great and plentiful spots are. Yes, we would camp there for sure. 👍👍😎
