An oak-all-over 80s kitchen gets a timeless remodel
Kitchens, just like every other room in our homes, are susceptible to changing design trends. One year it’s all about poured concrete countertops and the next it’s leather drawer pulls. But kitchen remodels are an expensive undertaking, costing anywhere from $15,000 to well over $30,000 — sometimes it’s best to keep it classic with a design that will stand the test of time.
Interior decorator Kendra Bester considered the timelessness of every element in her client’s kitchen remodel, right down to the hardware. What was once a dated 80s kitchen with oak cabinets and unsightly tile flooring is now a bright, all-white space with functional features for a modern family.

To be honest I like the 1980s design more.
I would prefer the original, but cool anyways
meh white kitchens are a fad.
Nice !
What model of fridge is that please?
Looks way better.
All white looks super tacky and cheap. The wood oak is timeless and classic. The IKEA look will be outdated in 5 yrs.
Beautiful
What was the total cost of this renovation?
Love this space! Great job!
Amazing!
needs a pop of color…
very nice. Do you mind to share what can I find the same bar chair under the island?
Beautiful transformation! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
80s kitchen looks way better I’m dead ass
I liked the original cabinets better….TOO MUCH BRIGHT WHITE!
I’m always worried flipping houses built in the 80’s. I recently skipped out on a home built in 1987. Did you do any asbestos testing?
This kitchen is too white. All they did was paint everything white put new hardware on the pulls and sinks. New appliance and stools. The owners could have done it themselves. She took out cabinet space for that ugly huge vent. The is no contrasting depth of colors, it is too stark. The wood floor is just……………..NO. No shades or blinds in the windows? I could go on how awful this make over is but I will stop.
Built-in microwaves or stand-alone? I see the renovation didn’t include a built-in so was wondering what you or others would do?
You just painted it white. Bring back real wood!
