I have to suggest you slow down and enjoy the journey. Why did you have to go so far in such little time? Was it lack of planning. You missed a great opportunity to spend a free night at the Marfa rest area and marfa lights viewing area. I stayed there with only a couple other over nighters in late fall 2019. At dusk there are a bunch of people who come to see the lights, but no lack of space.

The Prada exhibit was vandalized, that’s why they only have the single shoe of every style so that looters are not as tempted to break in and steal the shoes.

Thanks for this video. I really enjoyed it. I’m just about to leave for my very first long weekend in my self built promaster. A first shake down trip. I’m so excited because you had a lot of good ideas for traveling I’m going to use.

Maybe dumb question but can you cook while you drive? and can you shower when drive?

Do you use the TSD Logistics card or Get Upside? We used them both even with our Class B and especially now with our Class A diesel pusher and the now higher price of fuel.

Hi Aaron and Chris…I noticed that you used your CC at the pump. I love the convenience of not having to "go in", however, three times within the past two years, my CC was compromised when using the pump reader. Has this ever happened to you? (I sure hope not…what a pain).

For gas saving you can also use get upside. You get paid back for certain stations & shower you gas prices as well. You can also do the achievement app – to get paid for working out, tracking food etc. So many apps to earn $$. Not get rich, but I make it a game.

  21. Trudy Meyers on October 31, 2021 at 10:14 am

Oh gosh since you didn’t mention it assuming you didn’t stop to see the awesome old hotel in town. You should have spent the night here for at the rest stop just outside of town on the road you were on is a rest stop where people spend the night to see the colored lights in the sky. They have no explanation of why this happens. Also at the rest stop is where the Army Air Corp use to have a training base for pilots durning WWII. If you looked beyond the fence you would have seen what little of the runway that is still around, all the buildings gone. The reason I am aware of this is because my father taught there during the war. Also in town they had a really cool museum. Back in the day Marfa was a beautiful place with middle temps, no freezing, lots of water and basically the people grew all their own produce. Add this place to a list to return to someday.

Pretty cool what all you caught on your camera with the hiker and tanks! Thanks for reminding me to prep some proteins. We have three weeks of dry camping coming up in the Outer Banks of NC. (1 wk at Frisco Campground and ferrying over to Ocracoke for 2 wks) Leaving in a week, so I need to get busy!

Love it! Especially their rail traffic. “Don’t mess with Texas” Glad you’re there. Texas always feels safe I find a lot of common sense & kindness there. They don’t care what the “rage” is! Here’s your second like:) 👍 had to watch it again 😆

I have a tank question…not sure you want to answer these questions but here goes. We are taking our first RV trip in a few weeks in an Airstream Interstate and I’m concerned about the tanks. We are staying at a harvest host for the first night and then on to a campground with full hookups. I asked the question in the FB Airstream group but got lots of different answers. The question is…If we only stay one night at a harvest host… when we get to the campground do we just hook up to sewer and that dumps the tank? Some said the macerator would take care of it until the tank is full but some said hook up right away??? So confused. I thought the point of full hookups was to not have to worry about any of your tanks? Please help if possible. When Y’all are in a campground do you hook.up to sewer? It’s an Airstream Interstate 2018.

800 miles would probably be 4 days for us. We try to get a hike/dog walk in every day.

  36. Sandi Enochs on October 31, 2021 at 10:34 am

I’m in Portugal and I love traveling with you two. I was so very sorry to see the railroad carrying all those tanks. 🌎☮️

  37. Megan Mills on October 31, 2021 at 10:34 am

Wikipedia indicates the Prada Store was broken into soon after setup. They now have an alarm system. In 2014, someone painted the place blue 😳

  38. Tin Quach on October 31, 2021 at 10:36 am

Did you say you could travel about 350 miles for the tank (26 gallons)? I did not really catch that part. Which year is your RV?

  39. John Murray on October 31, 2021 at 10:36 am

Fun video since you two (Chris) did all the driving etc. and we just enjoy. You two are so food disciplined 😱. Makes me feel a little guilty. Be good and stay safe out there!😎

  40. Vintowsi Farms on October 31, 2021 at 10:40 am

    Hey you two,

Of course, I have a question for you. I was wondering how much percentage of bio-diesel have you filled up with in your AI?

It’s posted on our fuel tank opening that nothing over 5% Bio-diesel should be used and I’ve really tried to make sure we do that. However, some of these places (more through the Southwest) make it difficult and have a very high percentage of Bio-diesel. Often say’s up to 20% Bio-diesel. So I always take that to mean that it has 20% Bio-diesel and don’t take a chance on using it. So we leave and find another station. This can be hard as a lot of the local stations will have the same 20% Bio. But so far we’ve been able to find it or still have mileage enough left to make it to another safe fueling location. Diesel#2 isn’t everywhere! Your advice about getting fuel around the 1/4 tank mark is very smart. We do the same. Thanks for your post!

    Thank you,

    Vince and Laura (original owners)
    2013 Airstream Interstate
