Animal bowls have to be cleaned often. Neighbours cats eat at your feeding stations. Get a webcam and check. So with no sink to clean up the slobbery mess there is no point for that pet area. Unless outside with a second animal dedicated sink area.

Lovely, intriguing suggestions, Julie! Thank you so much!

Really love your tips. I would love to get tips for busy countertops in kitchens and bathrooms. I find it hard to decorate with busy countertops. Changing countertops is just not in the budget as of yet.

  4. Linda Nichols on November 6, 2022 at 6:51 am

Love your decor ideas! You have awesome taste!

  5. Lisa White on November 6, 2022 at 6:55 am

love this videWe are remodng. I have a fieldstone fireplace and would like to know if I should white wash, morter or leave as it in my remodel. I currently have bookshelves on each side and they are going to be ripped out to new bookshelves or floating shelves. What do you recommend. I could send you a picture. Let me know.

  6. Carol Hollinger on November 6, 2022 at 6:56 am

    i love it all!!!!!

  7. M & M on November 6, 2022 at 6:57 am

I love the green cabinets…Right now, my kitchen is black granite and white cabinets. One photo you had shown, the green cabinets looked amazing with the black countertop…you have me thinking!

  8. Sarah Santana on November 6, 2022 at 6:59 am

Thanks Julie, You have inspired me.l am learning a lot!! keep it up!!

  9. johnnyboyvan on November 6, 2022 at 6:59 am

Ugliest kitchens I have ever seen thus far. Hideous!!

  10. Lorraine L on November 6, 2022 at 6:59 am

I would love a dedicated coffee station. A design feature that will be around for years to come.

  11. Jeanette Thomas on November 6, 2022 at 6:59 am

Hi I am Jeanette in Cape Town South Africa I am redoing my kitchen in the new year and thinking of white oak cabinets and white quartz counter tops any ideas I can use

  12. Susan Findell on November 6, 2022 at 7:00 am

When I re did our kitchen 2 years ago i did a slab backsplash in the same quartz as the countertop. Now I’m wanting the slab ledge. I cannot think of anyway to add that, oh well, I love the slab backsplash though, so easy to clean 😊

    Fascinating info Julie.
re the built-in water station: I’m guessing that would be a popular choice for a new kitchen, and very logical, since many people are already used to having a chilled water dispenser on the outside of their fridge door. It reminds me that quite a few people I know are now putting a soda stream station on their kitchen bench, so that they don’t have to keep purchasing plastic heavy bottles of mineral water — and to support the country’s push to reduce plastic use (I’m in Sydney Australia). It seems there’s a shift here to sparkling waters, as an alternative to soft drink and alcohol. Are at-home soda stream stations popular in your region too?

  14. peter rabbit on November 6, 2022 at 7:01 am

Julie, I see you, rocking that homage to Cruella DeVille.

  15. MaryLut on November 6, 2022 at 7:03 am

My coffee station is coffee maker and coffee pods spinner on counter, and coffee mugs and extra coffee pods and teas in cabinet above.

  16. Jay Burris on November 6, 2022 at 7:04 am

I like most of these. I think the tile hood stretches my creativity, I’d have to be convinced, I’m not against it though. I love the pot filler for my 65lbs dog!!!

  17. Kathryn Mettelka on November 6, 2022 at 7:04 am

I prefer blue and white to green, but color choices are intensely personal. Color must have some psychological resonance. The greens are pretty, but definitely for someone else.

  18. Lai ngyn on November 6, 2022 at 7:04 am

Love your work but it’s still 2022 🤯

  19. MaryLut on November 6, 2022 at 7:06 am

Pot filler would help me if it recirculated, my sweet finicky cat likes to drink from a waterfall fountain, not water sitting in a bowl

  20. Leah Porath on November 6, 2022 at 7:06 am

Some of these trends don’t feel family friendly.😅 I can imagine my kids flooding the house with the pot filler.

  21. Outofmyvulcanmind on November 6, 2022 at 7:08 am

I love several of these ideas and feel so inspired! Excellent video!

  22. Debra Phillips on November 6, 2022 at 7:10 am

    All great ideas!!

  23. Carmel Rose on November 6, 2022 at 7:13 am

    Love it

  24. Saima S on November 6, 2022 at 7:14 am

Love your vlogs! Thank you so much! Your vlogs are validation for me on what Ive done already as well as a guide for what I could do next! Lol 😂 Thank you!

  25. Cindy Humphrey on November 6, 2022 at 7:16 am

The pot filler for the dog bowl is brilliant

  26. Ziggy3339 on November 6, 2022 at 7:17 am

    Well done❤

  27. Nita Blaszka on November 6, 2022 at 7:17 am

Can I pair a stainless steel sink with a brass / gold faucet?

  28. Melody Kainoa on November 6, 2022 at 7:20 am

The doggie faucet is genius 🙆🏽‍♀️💡

  29. MaryLut on November 6, 2022 at 7:21 am

I am not going to hang art in my kitchen where I will have clean grease and grime off another surface

  30. Tricia on November 6, 2022 at 7:21 am

Great video! I still rewatch the kitchen design video you did a while ago. It is so comprehensive, and your content is always top notch. 👏👏👏

  31. meercatt on November 6, 2022 at 7:21 am

Super interesting. Love the open shelves beneath the counter top. ❤ At least a few under the island. The dog thing is a good idea .. I mean more than the pot filler. You have to do dog bowls every day. And you still have to drag the big pot to the sink anyway. I never got that feature. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  32. MaryLut on November 6, 2022 at 7:26 am

Definitely gonna skip the pots and pans on display, I am not a short order cook or a chef

  33. Tracy Krauss on November 6, 2022 at 7:26 am

    Love love your list!

  34. Julie Khuu on November 6, 2022 at 7:26 am

I may be biased, but I find ALL of these ideas pretty timeless and less “trendy” with a short lifespan.

Next kitchen will definitely house my dream coffee station! If money were no object, what little luxuries would you want in your dream kitchen?

  35. Lori B on November 6, 2022 at 7:27 am

Another great video! Most of the trends were tasteful. The only one that may become dated soon is the two material backsplash – where the counter and a few inches up are one material and the rest of the backsplash is different. Makes the already busy kitchen look cluttered, like it was unfinished then finished later…not a fan

  36. Decorating The Shack With Ethan on November 6, 2022 at 7:30 am

So good!!! I have a feeling the open shelving will slowing fade.. I feel like things are becoming a little more elegant and high end and that open shelve look is a little busy. I personally have been all about rustic and boho for years and im just over it. I want clean, relaxing and minimal now. The simple life feels better after being home so much more. I do love the natural stone look and the ledge!!! Love the drink station idea and the doggie detail!

  38. ThatAsianWeeb on November 6, 2022 at 7:31 am

thank you for this! wondering how thick you think the stone ledge should be? does it need to match the counter?

  39. Stephen B on November 6, 2022 at 7:32 am

Great ideas and agree about "trends". Stephen

  40. Cheryl Sjaarda on November 6, 2022 at 7:34 am

We recently remodeled our kitchen and put in a coffee/beverage station and absolutely love it! It was fun to see this was on your list of trends!

  41. nattie_ceee on November 6, 2022 at 7:35 am

The vent with tile looks great! Vents can be so hulking and such a visual interruption.

  42. KT Lim on November 6, 2022 at 7:35 am

As always, you make the best videos! I love the sage-colored European vibe kitchen cabinets, the "mini" ledges, and a coffee station.

  43. Lena Bucherati on November 6, 2022 at 7:38 am

Under the counter open cubbies are not practical especially if you have cats and dogs. They collect dust and pet hair.

  44. CONSTANTINE ANGEL GUTIERREZ on November 6, 2022 at 7:40 am

fab ideas, yes i been following drew for years now he is great.

  45. Midlife Mom on November 6, 2022 at 7:40 am

Hello from South OC! I love the idea of stone ledge. I will incorporate in my master bath for place to nicely display glass jars and pretty beauy products.
Could you do a video on simple holiday decorating? I am overwhelmed with the all the stuff in the stores!

  46. Lindsay Carbonell on November 6, 2022 at 7:40 am

Wouldn’t the open pot shelving gather dust?

  47. Susan Alexander on November 6, 2022 at 7:44 am

I love these ideas and designs. Makes me wish I had a bigger kitchen instead of this tiny galley style kitchen. I love the bottom only cabinets also love the green, the natural stone and mixed metals.

  48. Nancy Anne Berg on November 6, 2022 at 7:45 am

I just saw his new marble kitchen get its ‘protective skin. I think his ability is developing so well. Thank you for this posting. I find it useful.

  49. L L on November 6, 2022 at 7:46 am

I have the coffee/beverage station in the dining room. Looks great and freed up space in the kitchen.

  50. Cindy Humphrey on November 6, 2022 at 7:46 am

I took a pretty butlers cart, put it in my sunroom, adjacent to the kitchen and made a coffee station. It works perfectly and doesn’t take up any needed space on the kitchen counter.
