LONG-TERM VISITOR AREA (LTVA) – MAP
https://www.blm.gov/documents/arizona/public-room/map/long-term-visitor-area-map
Pilot Knob LTVA (which stands for Long Term Visitor Area) is only about 20 miles from Yuma, Arizona. The location is fantastic. You can stay at Pilot Knob for 7 months for $180 dollars. So you can live almost with rent free, while you work and save money! School bus driving is a great job to consider! You could drive a bus for about 7 months a year and then have the summers off.
LTVA’s require you to have a 10 gallon water tank and you might want to consider getting a generator and a window AC unit for the hotter months. This is a great option to consider! Let us know in the comments below what you think? Would you want to have cheap rent while saving up money?

Just don’t get your mail delivered to the chevron . The manager the dumb blonde has been caught multiple times stealing and going through other people’s mail.

Thanks for the info. I’m getting ready to retire and I’m looking for a warm place to spend the winter.
Great Idea!!
I might as well give it a shot!
Been to. Yuma twice loved it
What do you do about water ?
How would I go about catching up with a caravan or, since we are total newbies, find y’all out there? Would feel safer at first with others who are experienced. We’ve got some med tests coming up so we’re maybe 6 months away…. or less. Thanks

Cost is to high on the road.
How safe is it?
Love this you inspire me
Good to know thanks for sharing.
Hi, great content ; thinking of your beautiful mother and brilliant father : thankful for your arrival
Would they care if I didn’t have good inspection stickers or insurance for my RV?
Yuma’s a good town (medium Az City) with locals who are down
to earth and friendly. A lot of living options in Yuma for retiree’s.
Yes it one of the Hotest zones in the States, but even Phoenix
and Palm Spring is only 8 degree’s cooler, so no real difference.
The CDL drivers license is a great option but folks should be aware that there are quite a few medical disqualifiers that people need to be aware of. But..
It’s a very good idea non the less.
This is amazing information
2 1/2 years ago I bought 20 acres about seven tenths of a mile, north from where you filmed this video.
It was supposed to be my retirement home, and it is right next door to the 5 acre home that my mom and stepdad built about 40 years ago.
Long story short, couldn’t find contractors, or CA licensed well driller (Imperial county will not let you bring in, and store potable water) and had to buy a house in the foothills for my mom and I.
I was hoping to develop it into something where friends and possibly a couple of snowbirds could spend time camping (really close to the sand dunes, and off course lots of places to explore, off road).
It’s sad, but there have been several people that were trying to develop a home in this small area (Sidewinder road, north), and some still are. There are some folks that built at the same time as my mom and stepdad that are still there.
Never would have thought in a million years that it would end up to be something that wouldn’t be doable.
I’m keeping the land for now…
Great video, and ideas!

The rare person on YouTube who actually helps humanity instead of just chattering.
Does Pilot knob have utilities and water? What about a shower and bathroom and appliances?
But y’all running out of water lol
Bob I’m a Canadian with my cdl would this work for me ??
Here is the other one

Or work your butt off for several years in order to really build up your nest egg. Take some time off without worry of being stranded some place when your vehicle breaks. Or the cost of fuel skyrockets because a Democrat President took the nation off of energy independence.
You’re giving me flashbacks of an old bus driver named Diane Biggs, her route caused her to pass our house twice and we use the first pass as a warning and then we would run out to catch the second pass, which conveniently put the door and the bus on our side of the street. For some reason that evil broad insisted on us being out there for the first pass. I can’t remember but I think there was a parental intervention on that. I was so glad when our previous bus driver Fran was our bus driver the next year.
Great topic Bob , I is it possible for Canadians to work in Arizona?
Thanks!
And it’s a lot closer to San Diego.
"NOT TO DO WHAT THE MAN TELLS YA". HAHAHA ๐. BOB YOU ARE TRULY A GEM.
๐
its sad we have come to this in the US
Bob itโs been enlightening listening to the advantages of living or working at this place. Iโd like to visit it first then decide if I want to work there. For the price it seems like an inexpensive/affordable place to stay. Iโm curious as to exactly what it offers so I could come prepared to work or stay. Maybe this community can help me since someone probably has stayed there.
how do u handle your garbage?
