Yep, the big C — OK, I won’t call it that — That Which Shall Not Be Named caught up with my family finally, as well. 2-1/2 years carefully avoiding it. Sigh. Thanks to Moderna it wasn’t too bad. Thank you for another great video. I love Ireland and am looking forward to the series.

San Diego / Tijuana border? Oh that’s not safe. My friend says the police are dressed up in swat gear and present in every grocery store and around town. Best of luck 🙏

I was going out shopping and for walks. I got nothing as soon as government decided diabetics had to isolate, I caught it how?.. from a home shopping delivery. Same as you I was gutted as I’d managed to avoid it. Glad your both better🌺

You need to visit Pat Noone’s farm in Galway before you leave, because you probably have no clue about Ireland.

  14. Cornell Kirk on December 10, 2022 at 1:06 am

I was in county Mayo and had 2 guys slam straight into the side on my 2021 tranny custom 😡😡 destroyed it!

  15. peter on December 10, 2022 at 1:08 am

soo, let’s allow trucks on the road as wide as the road and not restrict vehicle sizes or make the roads wider…makes sense to me (NOT). Thanks for the real heads up about not driving wide vehicles on that width of road.

  16. Edward Yudkoff on December 10, 2022 at 1:11 am

At first I thought he slugged you because you misbehaved.

  17. emerald on December 10, 2022 at 1:11 am

because of covid the ditches didn’t get cut and they drive really fast on the country roads because we are used to it ,plus the pot holes or should I say swimming pools lol it can be hazardous .it’s like rally driving here

  18. anticat900 on December 10, 2022 at 1:15 am

Ireland has some pretty country roads, putting any part of the body out the windows is a risky thing to do.

  19. magaiver on December 10, 2022 at 1:16 am

Slow down and drive on the soft shoulder if you need to …. Specifically at a curve and always keep in mind that trucks will need more road than you really think.

    Be safe 😃

Given you were injured, it is classed as a hit and run, if you have dash-cam with his registration you should have reported it to the Gardai. Insurance can be quite generous in Ireland! I had similar with my LHD car. The oncoming SUV swiped my mirror, smashing his own to pieces. He did stop, and got quite aggressive, blaming me. I pointed out that 1) because I was a LHD I could see to put my wheels right on the verge, 2) his SUV was substantially wider than my car 3) I had a dash-cam showing I was actually stationary at the time of impact. I offered to call the Guards and file an insurance claim, he drove off. My damage was €40 for a new mirror glass, I hope his was several €’00 for a complete new binnacle.

Something tells me you are both Christians.

  23. Vicki Rickman on December 10, 2022 at 1:24 am

You have to slow way down and almost stop when the bigger vehicles and trucks pass you on those narrow roads. We had to anyway.

  24. Terri Fobear on December 10, 2022 at 1:27 am

Sounds good I am sure no matter what you do it’s just cool
I am very excited for you guys and proud you are doing this for you and I am glad that you are OK
Be safe please can’t wait for the next video

  25. Achangeisasgoodasarest on December 10, 2022 at 1:29 am

I’m a scaffolder. I’ve had many mirrors smash the windows in my lorries in the last 40 + yrs. A really loud bang and tiny splinters of glass stuck my face. As there are two of you, my advice would be to pull the nearside mirror in whenever you dont need it. Eg: country roads. It gives you a lot more room to avoid an offside mirror clash.

  26. justincho2 on December 10, 2022 at 1:29 am

That reminds my experience in uk . I keep hitting road side gutter and tire got low air pressure after few days. Wrong side drive cause it.

  27. Chris Keane on December 10, 2022 at 1:30 am

Truck is too big for Ireland and locals won’t like it parked in carparks.

  28. JoBethK on December 10, 2022 at 1:31 am

    Your plans sound great!

  29. Durble Durb on December 10, 2022 at 1:33 am

Sorry to hear this thing about narrow Irish roads has been such a dark cloud on your experience. I’m pretty sure there are tens of thousands of Irish drivers besides myself who have spent a lot of money down the years replacing wing mirrors for the same reason you had to. 18th century width of roadway, often 3rd world quality of surface on said roadways, but plenty of government employees driving top of the range 21st century vehicles on them. Fill in the blanks yourself.

  30. Jason Gibbons on December 10, 2022 at 1:33 am

"lol’ just came across your video. 🙂 vanlife is something I really think is for me so I’ve been checking out vanlife videos here on YouTube , O I’m Jason I live in Dublin Ireland and have to say listening to you guys I think you are from the USA where the water is blue and the sky is also blue but what you think of our brown water ‘lol’ hope all goes well for you guys and happiness follows yous where ever you go.

Your ‘American’ iPhones were made in Zhengzhou, China.

  34. Piper on December 10, 2022 at 1:38 am

Decision fatigue on the road is a real thing when travelling full time. So taking a break from it is a good thing. Glad you were ok from that side mirror accident – You’ll find roads in Europe apart from the highways can be quite narrow.

What part of Ireland did you go too ?

  37. Vicki Rickman on December 10, 2022 at 1:40 am

I love the countryside roads n Ireland. You could always take their interstate roads.

  38. H C on December 10, 2022 at 1:40 am

I’m sorry to hear of your accident. Personally hate driving in parts of Ireland. I don’t enjoy oncoming traffic driving over the middle white line, before I receive hate over that.. try driving in CORK, both the city and the county! Even in a tiny car, it can be an experience. Yes, the roads are narrow but that excuse only holds true for some part of the problem. Lived there for ages. Also, have driven all over the world. There other countries I do not enjoy equally as much for the very same reason.

This was a blessing cause we got so sick w the flu, glad we were able to get better during the hurricane! About to trade in my suv for a van to live in so I can travel back to go to Mayo Clinic!!

    Good for you.

  45. Michelle Angello on December 10, 2022 at 1:46 am

Guys I was scrolling and saw your thumbnail and said, "OMG what happened" I’m glad you are all right and it looked worse then it was!!! 😊 Yes there is a lot involved with European countries that take alot of adjusting too!!! When I was in the military and married to a military man he was stationed in Germany. They have 220V there as US has 110V so had to get adapters for outlets in apt. The Autobahn there which is like their main highway has NO speed limit, yes you heard me right, NO speed limit!!! I thought for sure we were going to be killed the first time we ventured away from the base!!!! Lol Different culture, different customs, different money I felt like I was in a time warp!!! I had never been overseas when I was in the military I stayed all 3 1/2 yrs in Wash, DC so it was new to me. Some things were easier to get use to then others, but you poor guys are really having it rough with your phones, appts, the driving on the left side of the road I really was shook by yeah it’s really a lot. You both definitely need a break back in the states to gather yourselves and get your personal things taken care of. I wish you both the BEST of LUCK on your future travels and I hope you have smooth sailing……Take Care and Merry Christmas ⛄🎄🦌 PS Love Your Dog

    What’s a meer

  47. Gareth Ifan on December 10, 2022 at 1:46 am

Ireland or the UK for that matter, is not a place to be driving a Left hand drive vehicle..you were probably further out in to the road than you realized you were and as a result made contact with the oncoming truck..there’s no room to spare on many of these roads

  48. Kevin Mitchell on December 10, 2022 at 1:47 am
