I never buy so much as a roll of RV toilet paper from CW. Absolutely no way would I ever touch an RV with their name on it, no matter who actually built it.

Thank you Jason for keeping us informed. Don’t know how you keep up with all of the craziness.

No way I’m buying a camping world RV…. or anything from camping world. …….

  4. Albert Mosack on February 20, 2023 at 8:30 am

Camping world and now called gander rv will never see me again.2016 brand new toyhauler purchased was a total nightmare. They should be out of business.

CW building rv’s ? What could go wrong?

  8. StressLess Camping on February 20, 2023 at 8:36 am

The kind of thinking of Lemonis reminds me of the TV Show "American Automobile" where there is literally no competence other than the ability to make money at all costs. Another share-worthy news update – thanks Jason and Abby.

I’m glad you explained CW … I have never understood the big hoopla about them. Now I do. They are a conglomerate that eats smaller companies for breakfast and drives prices out of reach for the small guy.

Bring on the opinions Jason. Love it.

Just doesn’t matter who builds what; million dollar Prevost or a fifteen thousand dollar Coleman camper, they all have problems. Many of the same parts are used across the industry regardless of who builds the rv. Most builders are pulling from the same parts bin.

Eddie Bauer : Lipstick on a pig ?

  13. issues420916 on February 20, 2023 at 8:45 am

I hope they’re not. My wife and I bought a camper from camping world in November and put it right into storage winterized for this summer. Before even using it we’ve had to take it in for service 3 times due to issues and damage they caused. Now it’s leaking when snow sits on the roof and they refuse to look into it because they can’t recreate it.

I took my Trailer to Camping World, Roseville Ca. To have the siding replaced, Factory Authorized Repair, When we went to pick up the trailer we notice several scratches and dents. Worst then what we dropped it off. Camping World basically said that is how we received them from the factory and I would need to go thru the MFG to get it repaired. They said they can not touch it up because you will still see the defects. I took it to a RV repair shop down the street and they said they could but it will be expensive. Over 6k. Unbelieve how we were treated and how Camping World blamed others for their work. If that is the way they received them, why did not they tell me about them when we went to pick it up? Or why wouldn’t they tell me ahead of time that panel may come in with defects? Or why wouldn’t they asked me if I would like scratches and dents or keep the old ones? Or why wouldn’t they send the damage panels back and get some that are not? What a lazy unprofessional outfit. I will now longer do business with Camping World. Or Good Sams!

Great video. It’s really nice when RV news doesn’t have to tippy toe around the real issues happening in the RV industry.

And thanks for the mag mention!

I met Eddie Bauer in the 1970’s. He made it very clear he had nothing to do with the present company, they had only bought the rights to his name.

  20. Shelley Thompson-Brock on February 20, 2023 at 8:51 am

Don’t buy an RV from Camping World and sure as hell don’t let them service anything. Unless you want to pay extra for them to wreck your rig.

  21. Karen Griswold on February 20, 2023 at 8:51 am

On LOLOHO, they mentioned that Glacier Point Road and the Bridalveil trails and parking areas in Yosemite is closed for renovations this year. Do you have any info or thoughts on this? I have wanted to go there since 1970 when my Dad went there. He came home (to NH) and said it was the most beautiful place on Earth! I was planning a trip for my 60th Birthday in September, but maybe I should wait?

Thanks for another informative video. I appreciate that you made a distinction between expressing your opinion vs. presenting news, when discussing the Camping World + Eddie Bauer rumored collaboration. Often people don’t understand that there is a difference between reporting opinion v. reporting fact. I’m glad to see that you made this distinction and then noted when you were returning to news. Thank you from Idaho!

Hi Jason, I have an unrelated question that maybe you can help me with. We live in New York and we’re heading out West for 2 and a 1/2 months in May for our biggest trip yet. We are only RVing for one year.. We have a class C and flat tow our Jeep. We have been using Google maps and RV Life and it works good for us so far. There has only been one time where we lost our signal and got a little jammed up but nothing too serious. Going out West is another story. So we’re thinking we mabey should get a Garmin. I just looked on my dashboard and windshield and there really is no room for that huge 8" screen. Even 6" would be to big. Do you think I should just get one that’s made for a car? Or do you know if there are any other options? Or is there a small one that I could put in the height of my RV? I like the idea of putting in the height so it don’t direct me to any low bridges. I think one that’s much smaller would maybe fit ok. I don’t need a big screen but I like the idea of having a satellite map instead of something that could lose Internet. I’m just looking for some advice, any help would be appreciated. I’m also gonna try to call the Garmin company hoping to get someone on the phone for ideas. Thanks Jason.

Dang! "No comprehension how to get a job done". Hate to say it but the profit from 2021 makes it hard to argue if he wants to throw another CW sales gimic, he can do it

Poor camping world. They just bought out a couple rv dealers here in the Yoop.

  32. Yooper on February 20, 2023 at 9:00 am

What do you think of Scout? We have one coming in fall, and would love your opinion. You seem to have a lot of insight.

  33. Colleen A. on February 20, 2023 at 9:01 am

Thanks for the heads up on the National Parks (Yosemite), will probably avoid it. While I’ve never followed Eddie Bauer branding, I have noticed a few items not up to par with the name. As for they’re plans to enter the RV world. I agree, with you. Once a company gets out of their expertise and think they can do everything, they fail. Hate to see the name Eddie Bauer go down hill.

  34. jeromep on February 20, 2023 at 9:02 am

Lemonis is a showman. He is one of these business leaders which chooses to promote a great idea up front and let it live or die based on its merits (or popularity). He operates on the concept of raising things up the flagpole and seeing who salutes. If people salute, he runs with it; if they don’t, the idea quietly goes away. Is this a great way to run businesses or deal with the public? I don’t think so, but it is successful for certain business leaders and certain industries. I’m paraphrasing here, but Steve Jobs wasn’t a big fan of market research. He always felt that the consumer didn’t know what they wanted until you provided it to them. Lemonis operates similarly.

  35. Cajun Wolf on February 20, 2023 at 9:04 am

I hope Camping World and the other big players choke by the end of the year. This will leave room for the ma & pop folks to come back in and pick up the pieces when the smoke of the current local and global situation clears. In my honest opinion, they’ve created an RV bubble that might just pop with gas prices plus inflation; we shall see. I’m an old man living in a cool older RV (C) on a fixed income, and I’m so tired of the big corporations rigging the game for themselves and stockholders. I remember the days before reservations, remember rotary phones too, and I bought my RV cash, no finance company to feed. I remember the days when I could drive out into the Arizona and Nevada deserts during the winter months and see very few other folks if any. Can you imagine that? LoL, RV parks today remind me of cruise ships with people crammed in like sardines in a can; that’s no vacation or a way to live either. BLM land used to be a cool place, but now they’re too many people trashing up the site because you always have "those kinds" around when it’s free to stay, and now it’s why a lot of BLM land is being closed or limited to "dispersed camping." See y’all on the road as soon as I get out of Houston; I hate big cities.

  39. Erin Thor on February 20, 2023 at 9:09 am

I contacted Camping world looking for an Rv, holy cow, my phone rand and rang, it reached a point where I just told them I bought one already (a lie) to stop the calls. Their salespeople must be under tremendous pressure to produce or perish.

  40. Jesse Revilla on February 20, 2023 at 9:11 am

Eddie Bower is dated; I would not want a TT with someone’s name on it. Example as in Fashion a Tommy shirt .. No way am i going to wear the name Tommy but the logo is OK. My kids are clueless of who Eddie Bower is lol ; That is so 90’s

Marcus Lemon is a shyster. He probably purchased a bunch of old Subaru Outback Eddie Bauer editions to sell them as RVs.
