Great video, Julie! Do you have any tips for bunkbeds and low loft beds?
Thank you!!
Not all of this are mistakes every time I think. Like, everyone has there own style and a white room or a colorful wall for example can also be great! It also doesn’t always have to be perfectly designed after what’s written in a book at designers school. You do you, guys!
Thank you for finding all these great rooms so I don’t have to do the work!
Magical video…
Subbed! Love your energy…great intro straight to the point ❤️
Great expertise tips
Office space maybe
Tnk u ..mam juls I learn a lot..it’s an honor if u can drop in our house and make my daughter’s bedroom…pls
Can you do a kids/toddlers feng shui video too please!
The size of many kids rooms won’t accommodate adult furniture. I slept in a twin bed until I got married. You should do a video on kids rooms when the room is small.
“ the key to decorating a kid’s room is curating investment pieces that can work for any age” so true ❤️ . My partner and I don’t have kids yet, but recently we visited our friends after a year, the wife had a kid last year and she said something very similar when we were in their house. That way it saves money and energy to go out buy furniture and it’s eco friendly too . Love you videos and contents , always learn something watching your videos
Thank you, just one question: where is their stuff? My kid needs to see things or he forgets they exist, toys, clothes, books. And he collects so many little lego figurines.
i really feel this video was specially made for me. thank u dear. much love from Uganda.
Thank you this is very helpful tips my whole house was a plain white.
I love your videos thank you for all the content!!!
My soon to be 3 yr old toddler is roller! Plus his new room is gonna be smaller than his current room…. I’m not sure a queen will fit… can I put guardrails on a full?
Excellent video!!! The window treatments were a game changer for me. A lot of designers on you tube don’t focus enough on window treatments and especially for childrens rooms.
I’m a kid and I have been wanting my room done differently for about 3 years now and they haven’t changed it and Ive grown to have different likings and tastes for stuff and grey wall and purple trims aren’t the best yet and I’ve been saving stuff to get better inspiration and for my family to get my point of view for how I wanted it and this helped a lot!
What do yo recommend for the toys?
That changing table just might work in a teens room! 😳🤰
Nothing I hate more than blue carpet.
I found some of your tips really helpful. However, I do think furniture in children’s size is useful. Especially for toddlers, they won’t be able to open the high drawers, or sit on normal chairs comfortably, also they might fall out of a queen size bed in the middle of the room. I rather buy fitting furniture second hand, well knowing we probably only use it for 5 years. Unless a second one comes around 😁 also restyling the room now and then is a great way to get creative and express your growing personality. As a child, I loved it when we rearranged my room or changed the walls or I got a new piece of furniture after some years
I think the biggest mistake people make with kids’ rooms is overdesigning them and not letting the kids have enough say. Some of these rooms are really great, but they look like they were designed by adults…. for adults. Children are *not* just tiny adults. Their development is in full swing and their brains work very differently. A bedroom is the place where *they* play, work, and live, and it’s generally the only space they have that is their own – and they’re often sharing with a sibling or two. It’s one thing to set some limits or guidelines like "No, we’re not going to paint every wall bright orange," but what’s so wrong with having a more blank canvas and allowing the kids to showcase their own interests and talents, instead of an adult deciding that for them…?
How should 3 year old bedroom should look like?
My son love cars and tracks. But he’s room have a few paw patrol storage items. I’m trying to fix the room for it can look bigger. How should I place the bed in he’s room?
Hi Julie. Great content as usual. Would you consider doing a shared (small) family room/playroom?
I appreciate all the knowledge and experience that you devoted here, but, sincerely, with exception of those cartoon character’s rooms, most would prefer the "no’s" rooms. The childhood takes a little bit of time, if well planned, by the time they’re teens, the family would be able to make a transformation. And if not, the teenager will start knowing how to work for it e make it as it wants.
I definitely agree with the furniture, tho.
These are some really unrealistic looking rooms. Like they were pulled from a magazine ad.
Thanx for good content and really functional tips
I want to put a slide in my daughter’s room!! Think she’ll mind? She’s 24…and still living in the basement! 😂😂
Your rooms (or those you chose from the webs) are gorgeous!!
My mother always had such great taste. Growing up my bedroom was beautiful! I always knew how fortunate I was.
I love this😍
I love the video. It’s very informative & has a lot of great tips in it. However, as a mom of an almost 4 yr old toddler, a lot of these room ideas seem more geared twords teens/adults vs younger kiddos in my opinion. Idk about you all, but my son wouldn’t be asking or wanting these type of designed rooms that are more grownup, mature. These kind of rooms I feel you would find in a show house thats for sale or a rental property. I don’t agree with getting a bigger bed like a queen right off the bat & purchasing adult sized furniture especially if you have a toddler. Yes I get the reasoning behind it like it saves you lots of $, grows with your child etc. but whats the point of having furniture that they can’t open themselves & use. You would have to do everything for them still, which defeats the purpose of helping your kiddos be independent. For me I don’t mind spending the $ on furniture their size like a bed, or dresser & my son loves his independence to do things himself I think he’d get mad or frustrated if he always had to wait for me to do everything for him.
Omg your mistakes are everything I was already steering away from! I feel so happy !! Lol I feel like Im on the right track!
I like the guidelines. Really versatile. Thanks. I’m curious what your thoughts on design incorporating pets (dogs, cats, birds) needs. Pet furniture seems… Off. Maybe I’m not looking at it the right context?
My grandkids stay over often and have their own room in my home. I agree with purchasing quality pieces from the get-go, vs. the kiddie stuff, but I don’t agree that kids under 18 need anything over a twin size bed. Also, quality pieces can be bought 2nd hand for a fraction of new. I found a PB bed for $50 off of FB Marketplace. Solid piece that can literally last generations.
I mean my son would LOVE that Lightning McQueen room 😂 but he’s also 3
I hate having to rent a house. The rent costs 450$, we aren’t allowed to do anything to the house, the entire house is falling apart, we can’t have anything in the back or front yard. And the house is so old! But, at least we have somewhere to live.
We going with a light purple since my daughter as austim anything too bright on the walls too much she won’t sleep.
I love your tips, but I really don’t agree with some of these, because having bold colors can help kids represent their personality. I also think that having white walls just means that you can have lots of things to go along with it.
i also seen 9:31 before on google n loved it. cool same taste
Hello, I’m a 9 years old. Just wanted to Say hi.
What if your child is begging for a themed room? My son is in love with toy story right now and he stays hyper fixated with things for years
Fantastic!!!! Wonderful ideas 😍😍😍😍thanks Julie!!
What color should I paint my bedroom with my black oriental furniture to enhance the room?
as a kid all i need is a desk, pc chair and bed and im good
One thing I noticed is that you didn’t cover rooms with bunk beds. I have two rooms both with bunk beds. This takes up a whole from showing. I’d love to see how to decorate smaller rooms with bunk beds.
What’s wrong with cartoons bedroom idea?
How can I reach you? Email? I would like to have my kids room designed by you, please.
Let kids be kids and have kids rooms. This is literally just instead of letting them have a theme use mature bedding and put the theme as a wallpaper.. and instead of bright kids colors use muted dull colors. This is the white washed boring kardashian neutral world. Bring color back and let kids be messy kids.
