How to cook in a van? Living in a van is one thing. Living in a van during the winter is another. Surviving a blizzard in a van comes down to being prepared. In this video, I prepare and cook a meal in my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia campervan while an all out blizzard is coming down outside. It is fun pushing the limits in severe winter conditions when the wind is blowing, temperatures are below zero and the snow is falling down hard.

I really enjoy your cooking. Having such good food you’ve made yourself must be great while living in the van. You’re good at it!
I think I saw the same snow flake twice! YES I am not exaggerating.
Use a hand grinder to cut vegetables n stuff into any size that you want
The very first video that got my hooked into living the van life love it π₯Άπ₯Άπ₯ΆποΈβΊππ
Quesadilla, that is very good!
EVERYTHING IS EASY IF YOU KNOW HOW….
How. Can. I. Try. This. Maybe. I. Can. Go. Find. A. Ford. Van. To. Camp. Out. In. Like. What. You. Are. Doing. I. Thank. I. Will. Give. A. Try.
Gross. Didn’t wash the vegetables.
Hi livingthevanlife I like how u huncker down in ur van. Got a ???? for ya come across the COUNTRY to BUFFALO, NY and see how u survive a truly CAPITAL BLIZZARD of the WORLD. I want to wish to be very safe and sound adventure.
Awesome meal and adventure! Thanks for taking the time to share it with us! Sincere regards!
Just curious…why worry cross contamination when all of it will be cooked? You only worry about chicken juice on raw veggies that will be eaten un cooked.
Awesome
With all the cooking you do outside in the nature, have you ever attracted wild animals by accident looking to join you for dinner?
Your a dam good cook as well
Superb, thank you Chad ππ»ππ»ππ»π
Hi Chad! I like how you give all those little tips while preparing your food. I can hear that wind howling about your van. Your meal turned out really good. I can almost smell it. It’s making me hungry. Thanks for sharing this video, Chad. Great as always. Keep safe. Drive safe. God bless you on your next adventure. Looking forward to your next one. π
WOW!!! That snow is crazy. Seeing your van covered in snow yeah I’ll stay home, I’d feel like I’d get buried in. Delicious looking food as always. Be safe π
Italian cooking = passione, meal all ready . Spanish cooking = pasiΓ³n, meal all ready. Germany = anfangen, fertig, essen. Amerika=. Bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,β¦β¦β¦β¦..bla,bla,bla,bla π sorry
That chicken is NOT preseasoned π€£ππ€£π€£π
What about condensation from cooking with no doors or windows open?

Hi chad where ya been?
8:44 Why? Everything is going in the same place anyway… and its going to be the same when u start stirring again…
what do you carry for emergencies? what kind of things
small cooking tip….ADD MORE GARLIC. The more the better
THE PEACEFUL LIFE!!
Over the years I have been dealing with depression especially when I lost my husband and brother due to suicide…I resulted to doing drugs and drinking one night I came across your video winter camping in the van life and as I watched it I decided to give it a try and just to say that YOU SAVED ME …When I know I am about to fall off I pack up my tiny little camper go to a remote of the grid place watch your videos. Cook a simple meal and enjoy nature and life…I thank you for thatπ
The chicken would slice easier if you let it sit outside and firm up.
Forget the paper towel you need some good bread! π
How do you make a living if your van is your home
As someone who lives in a van i prefer a hotplate to propane
Just another long commercial
Where/how does he handle defecation?
You should try stuffed peppers over the fire
Ground meat
Bell Pepper
Rice
Tomato
Cheese
Great video, I want to do it once. The only thing I didn’t feel too comfortable with in the video is the huge side and the pointiness of the knife, it could potentially be dangerous. Perhaps you want to use a shorter one without the pointy front.
Admit it Chad.. You r a chef π¨βπ³ππ§π₯
FOR FUN – I love watching, never camped but maybe two night my whole life. afraid of my shadow and I am obsessed with the idea I could do it. thanks for posting.
Question of the day: What is your favorite vanlife subject?
Thank you for your videos. I like watching them over keep up the good work!
Dude the van life is where itβs at. I used to take my wife and kids to work with me in our van. We had a 2016 Nissan NV 3500. We updated it earlier this year for our toe vehicle.
There’s no shame in a hotel room are you crazy?
This is the first ever coping in a van show that I watched. So good to see it again π
I bet he goes straight to his house π after each video. He paid by YouTube and sponsors.
Try Spanish chorizo and low heat steam it on a pan with a cover and turn it over the FLAVOR will be preserved and the taste is awesome.
Chad what the song name when you were driving with a drone shot ! Please let me know ? Thanks π
Nice vid except I never use non-stick. Stainless or cast iron only. And fresh garlic always worth the extra effort!
This is the six time i see this video Just great blizzard sound and great food too
Nothing more need to enjoy this
add garlic at the end, it burns fast!
What do you do for entertainment ( read , DVD movies…etc ) ?
Hi chad, you should get you a carbon steel frying pan, when the pan is seasoned right, it is super nonstick and will outlast most other nonstick pans. these pans will last forever and are practically indestructible. the surface will never peel or flake and they make taste soon good. the only downside is if you cook acidic foods it will pull up your seasoning but that’s not a big deal just reseason.
