Gadsden sought to run all young people away from the late 1980s until today and succeeded. Good luck growing your economy on fixed income retirees, dying industries and a city government who taxes your paycheck just for working there.

Gadsden has many freeloaders who have too many kids and dogs they can’t afford…visit a place you rent but look more at your neighbors also!!

    New Ideas?
    1. Move municipal complex to old Gadsden High School property. Adapt high school building to municipal offices for City operations and First Responders, unifying ALL command and control under ONE ROOF.

    2. Market the entire city-owned land from Broad Street to Moragne Park to a commercial hotel developer.

    3. Convert Broad Street (Memorial Bridge) into a pedestrian/non-motorized connection between west and east sides of river

    4. Invest $500,000 to $1,000,000 into BRINGING major events to The Venue in 2020-2022

    5. RECRUIT MAJOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT (retail and restaurants don’t pay, and neither does low-level employers with less than 100 new hires at just a little over minimum wages)… let’s be honest, the Steel Plant’s gone and Goodyear isn’t far behind! GET SOME INDUSTRY IN TOWN!

    6. INVEST $1,000,000 into a Technology Industry Incubator program, with office space, HIGH speed internet access, shared office services and appropriate mentors and trainers to incubate new tech developers who will then be contractually obligated by the Incubator contract, to build new industries here in the area and hire local employers

    7. BUILD A "JOBS FIRST" BOARD OF ADVISORS with the express purpose of integrating industrial employers concepts of skills and aptitudes needed for their jobs INTO OUR EDUCATION system, from K to Collage (GSCC) and, then, partner with the County and other municipalities as well as the school systems to make the needed changes as quickly as possible AND to develop a plan to train working age adults in these skills and aptitudes as well.

    8. Make a COMMITMENT that there will be no more retail or restaurant development until 500 new industrial jobs paying a minimum of $15-20 per hour can be recruited and started in our county.

Bet you won’t do ANY of these!
