Changing the colour in the family room actually tones down the pink granite. That fireplace is gorgeous!

  2. Donna Allgaier-Lamberti on May 12, 2022 at 9:18 pm

I like terracotta floor too. Nice design.

  3. Nayeema Rashid on May 12, 2022 at 9:18 pm

How did you toned down the pink from the fireplace???

Sarah! You’re one of my absolute favorite designer. You know why? Because you not only do a fantastic job making homes look so cozy and inviting, but you are also a teacher. For this, I thank you because I can’t afford a designer. So, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

Hello Sarah, I really enjoy your videos thank you for sharing. My question is why do people go for gas fires? There is a lot of wood stored so it must be easy to get the wood to the chalet.
Is it a canadian culture thing for gas fires? I am writing to you from England where gas fires are not popular in the country. As far as I know anywhere in England even in town. I am in a rural area and most people go for open fires or wood burning fires. Just interested on the Canadian viewpoint. Gas fires have a completely different aroma to logs or coal.
    Best wishes from England.

  13. Ginger Sprecher on May 12, 2022 at 9:30 pm

Did you do anything with the loft area above the kitchen? The ladder gave me the heebie jeebies!

  14. Suzanne Hansen on May 12, 2022 at 9:30 pm

For a long time I lamented you not being on HGTV here in the US but I’ve come to realize we get to see SOOOOOO MUCH MORE of you on YouTube! Sarah, as always you are ahead of the curve! One of my favorite aspects of your design videos is when you collaborate with Tommy, your team and other trades because it allows for a fun, educational and interesting discussions of design options and choices. Your trip to Ikea with Tommy is a perfect example. Over the years you’ve shaped the way I approach shopping at "big box stores" and how to strategize my own home decor – thank you thank you! PS The lower level is PERFECT and I’m so excited to see the upper level – savoring each video. Looking forward to more more more of your gorgeous designs and lessons!

You coat would be warm but you’d destroy any special coatings for waterproofing etc.

    Merci, Sarah!  Brilliant…

  17. Beverly Dust on May 12, 2022 at 9:38 pm

Солнце на камине немного похоже на солнце из диснеевского мультфильма Рапунцель))))) очень мило!!

  20. Betty Murrell on May 12, 2022 at 9:41 pm

Hello! Enjoyed this episode so much. For whatever reason, this episode (#42) is not on the playlist for the contemporary chalet. 🤷‍♀️

  21. Tina Magnuson on May 12, 2022 at 9:42 pm

We’ve started a drinking game for everytime you use the word "crisp"! lol

  22. daseincog on May 12, 2022 at 9:42 pm

Love it. Wish the mud room included racks for skis or snowboards though. Would’ve made sense in a chalet.

  23. Firstvi ki on May 12, 2022 at 9:42 pm

I’m sooo sick of youtubers pushing their products. It’s obvious you did this home ONLY to showcase your products. I’m out

  24. Mark Wagner on May 12, 2022 at 9:43 pm

    Beautiful

  25. Monique Lehnhardt on May 12, 2022 at 9:45 pm

I am so tired of gray rooms but I have to say this looks good given the fireplace. But please designers, we want other colors than white and gray.

  26. Annie Yee on May 12, 2022 at 9:45 pm

I just love Sarah’s design styles. Wish she restyle my home

  27. Melinda Douglas on May 12, 2022 at 9:46 pm

I like the large, pink fireplace so much more than I thought I would. You made it work! It really was the “elephant” in the room but now it’s beautiful and everything else blends with it. Good job!

  28. 52sharonmarie52 on May 12, 2022 at 9:46 pm

where can you buy the silhouette sofa?

  29. Ilona on May 12, 2022 at 9:49 pm

    Love the terracotta floor

  30. Ocanada Standinguard on May 12, 2022 at 9:50 pm

I find the living room quite colourless, uninspiring and lacking personality.

  31. Kimberly Vlogs on May 12, 2022 at 9:50 pm

Where didbyou get the ceiling paneling in the tv room?

  32. hotsixty on May 12, 2022 at 9:51 pm

    👍🏾😍😍

  33. Silvia Aarlaht on May 12, 2022 at 9:51 pm

Sarah, I so love all of your work (or should I call it passion!). The way you think things through makes so much sense and it’s all so beautifully presented. What I’m a little surprised about in this chalet, is the lack of storage specifically for ski equipment! Being so close to ski hills, I would expect some kind of special closet, even, for this type of equipment aside from bins, under-bench or closet. No?

  34. Christine Mahoney on May 12, 2022 at 9:52 pm

    Greatly done.

  35. Liuba Gallucci on May 12, 2022 at 9:54 pm

Sarah I can’t believe it. I was thinking of you. I am, an addict. I watch it every day. I saw all your shows and I loved what you did with your island. Welcome!!! I love you. I am 85 years now and I love interior decoration. How his your daughter? Did you have another daughter? I cant remember. I am delighted to have you on the YouTube.

  36. Wanda Roach on May 12, 2022 at 9:55 pm

Love the room, just wished you could have toned down the pink, but I understand and you embraced it 👍

  37. Debbie Wood on May 12, 2022 at 9:55 pm

Absolutely DO NOT paint over natural (rock/granite) fireplace!

  38. LA on May 12, 2022 at 9:57 pm

I want to live there! 🤗❤️👍

  39. Paula Carr on May 12, 2022 at 9:58 pm

I’m glad you left the original saltillo tiles and the granite on the fireplace. Those rustic touches really ground the space in the country. If everything were smooth and sleek, it would like any other city house. Love those hooks in the mudroom, too. They look like the could actually support a heavy coat! Wimpy hooks are a pain. 🙁

  40. Tina McCann on May 12, 2022 at 9:59 pm

Grey, grey, grey, grey grey, cream, grey, grey, grey, off white, grey, grey, grey, grey, grey, grey-blue, grey, grey grey, grey, slate grey. grey, grey…
    Something that is made anew
    Becomes very old
    This colored trendy abode
    Starts to look like mold.

  41. Madison E on May 12, 2022 at 10:01 pm

What happened to the bonus/loft space with the ladder leading between the kitchen and master?

  42. Sherry G on May 12, 2022 at 10:03 pm

I love the fireplace!! With all the quiet colours around it, the awesome Canadian granite just looks so so Canadian!! : )) I also love the tile floor. Such a practical surface for a busy winter/summer entrance. Skiing and snow sports in the winter and the beaches that are amazing in that part of Ontario. I miss visiting my aunt and uncle who had a cottage/home at Wasaga Beach. They are gone now but not the memories of times spent up there.

  43. B uppy on May 12, 2022 at 10:03 pm

The second chandelier looks better overall, both on and off. Glad you changed your mind.

  44. Tammy McLeod on May 12, 2022 at 10:04 pm

Now I’m just bingeing on this series 😍. #cantstop
