Do you let the 2x4s dry for a while before you start building something with them?

  2. John Edwards on August 15, 2022 at 4:16 am

Can’t the new generation build anything without pocket joints ?

PJ’s have there place but even fair built furniture isn’t one of them.

Said the new generation machine operator. They’re not WW’s just tool junkies.

When placing the shelf in I might have cut a couple 3/4×3/4 cleats and screwed them to the frame. This way you could set the shelf on top of them and not had to drill pocket holes and cut the shelf so dead balls precise.
I’ll bet if you made a sled for your table saw that cutting half laps would take less time or close to the same amount of time but have a cleaner joint.
It would be good to stress to people not to make things that go inside a home or near food or children not to use Pressure Treated Lumber with the chemicals that leech out from it.

    Wath size is the roundbit?

  11. 64maxpower on August 15, 2022 at 4:24 am

Why use the clips to secure the top? Couldn’t you drive a few 2 1/4 screws up from the bottom?

  12. Jody Pyne on August 15, 2022 at 4:24 am

Absolutely love your work. My husband is making the coffee bar as his first project. Unfortunately, can’t find Sherwin Williams Biscuit White at my local paint store, nor on the SW website. Is there a similar color you would recommend for the table? Thank you!!

  13. Matt W on August 15, 2022 at 4:24 am

  16. Rjv on August 15, 2022 at 4:29 am

After watching your video I would love to try this. It will be great if you can provide the material link (wood or plywood) used for this project for a beginner.

This is awesome! Have you eve4 added casters to the console table? I think that would make the table even more versatile.

Best video on farmhouse style table on the internet! I’ll be shamelessly copying each step. Many thanks for inspiring

  27. Cam1558 on August 15, 2022 at 4:45 am

one recommendation, as you are cutting the boards for the top where you are going to use the z clips, I wished I had ran it through the table saw, to create the groove the z clips fit into. I found router was to tall after the fact and I don’t have a biscuit joiner.

  28. StormLaker1975 on August 15, 2022 at 4:46 am

I like to use my nail gun to pin joints together when using Kreg screws, or if I am countersinking screws. It helps prevent the screws from "walking" on me- even when clamped. Makes an extra strong joint in my opinion. Love this project, I’ve sold a few already, and built one for my wife for our house.

  29. Gary DeRuiter on August 15, 2022 at 4:48 am

Would it be a better bond if I used pocket holes and bid kits for a table top

At 9:45 you show "how you do your exes" ..I definitely need to take advise from this video instead of keep chasing my exes! 😄
Seriously though, I appreciate you taking the time for posting this. A newbie like me can save himself a lot of trouble and frustration by following this video.

  41. Gary DeRuiter on August 15, 2022 at 5:02 am

Wife loved the coffee table and end table and wants me to build it for her wish me luck. Plus I figure I can take pictures of them staged in the house for the start of my portfolio what do you think

  42. Jean-Paul Smit on August 15, 2022 at 5:04 am

Im from Belgium and this maybe a stupid question, but do you use construction grade lumber for this coffee table? I am just starting to get into woodworking and really enjoy watching your videos🤘 learning a lot!! And btw, your arkansas accent is pretty awesome!!

  43. Nicola T. L'hobital on August 15, 2022 at 5:04 am

This is not a critique, it is maybe a preference because I have some weird quirks I love how it turned out but I would have lowered the middle shelf so it is centered on the X. However very beautiful pieces and I picked up a tip with the urethane sealer so thank you.

  44. Pat-413 on August 15, 2022 at 5:05 am

I really like this table. Thinking of making one for our kitchen to hold a small toaster oven. The question I have is why do you use the level on your table saw between the fence and work piece?

  45. BigRigVT on August 15, 2022 at 5:07 am

Yes, I do enjoy learning your prices and pricing methods.

  46. Barb Grant on August 15, 2022 at 5:07 am
