I came to see a video of how to use this tool to remove flooring, and the video is of the exact same flooring I’m trying to remove! I guess it’ll work!

Instead of buying that special blade, I’m going to grind the teeth off of a dull blade and see if that works.

How do you get rid of the glue on the floor?

  4. Dave Powers on February 13, 2023 at 7:43 am

Not blocking the soil pipe? Good video otherwise

Be sure to use a scraper tool head….totally transforms the utility of the tool.

Harbor freight 20$ no added extras. 40 $ with accessories. 20% off coupons makes it eight bucks less as well……..

*We are replacing the subfloor in our home **MyBest.Tools** and this tool has proved to be invaluable. So many different uses. Cutting away boards in tight places, cutting water pipes to name a few. We love Dewalt tools in general, but have really enjoyed the flexibility and durability of this multitool.*

Just for the record, Harbor Freight carries these tools and the bits for far less than other name brands. However, as with most things from HFT, you are substituting the cost for some of the quality. Great for the part time DIYers though!

    Does nobody care about asbestos?

  19. Gabi Wenzelow on February 13, 2023 at 7:53 am

Just cut into smaller strips about 100 mill and rip it up with your hands. It will take 10 minutes. I’m all for working smarter and not harder but time is money.

Removing old lino but oscillating tool doesn’t do it alone. Need to add heat to remove all that extra glue. Still much easier than just a scrapper, couldn’t budge the stuff

    Idiot

How do you deal with stubborn leftover paperback from the vinyl?

  24. Michael Johnson on February 13, 2023 at 8:03 am

I currently have a dilema. I have very old linoleum under the carpet I ripped out of our hallway that I plan to put lvp flooring into. I started to remove a little piece of the linoleum by the cold air return for furnace and a little piece by a bedroom door to peek at the subfloor. Subfloor looks good from what I peeked at and what I see from underneath in the basement. I made a call to a friend who is a carpenter and he was concerned about asbestos in the 1960 installed linoleum. I patched in some linoleum I found into where I checked the subfloor. I am now leaning towards leaving the old linoleum and putting underlayment and flooring over it. My friend is quite adement about the asbestos issue. I have a Makita oscillating tool with the sharp smooth blade but I don’t know.

Blow torch works well…but not on wood..I would think

  26. Jay J on February 13, 2023 at 8:05 am

Brilliant for cutting copper pipe where it’s too tight to get a standard cutting tool around, even better for plasterboard cutouts way neater than standard plasterboard saw. Yep love my multi tool too, and accessories are far cheaper on eBay!

  27. Doctor Lee on February 13, 2023 at 8:09 am

    Yeah…kick ass!

  28. daniel junior rodovalho on February 13, 2023 at 8:09 am

Before uplifting any Flooring check first if it not asbestos under..

I’m in the process of doing this right now to a large spare bedroom. What a god damned nightmare. I am using a multi-tool and it’s helped a lot, but man…just shoot me.

  31. Lisa on February 13, 2023 at 8:12 am

    Use HEAT!

  32. Matt Alexander on February 13, 2023 at 8:16 am

In this video you seem to be leaving stripes of that glue behind. That’s the most difficult part.. does the tool handle that too?

  33. Ghostad92 on February 13, 2023 at 8:16 am

*Love this **MyBest.Tools** have the original dremel oscillating tool but it’s corded which is fine in many instances but this is so versatile. Must have for any tool monger like me.*

  34. nflcolts83 on February 13, 2023 at 8:17 am

Doing this to my kitchen and damn, even with the multi-tool, it’s a bi*** to remove 😭

Guess what canadian tier has it for $99.00 instead of 189.00 on Amazon. I suggest looking at local stores before you order. Thanks for the video
