DIY SMALL ENTRYWAY MAKEOVER!

DIY SMALL ENTRYWAY MAKEOVER | BEFORE + AFTER

Welcome to our house! Our small entryway got an extreme DIY makeover and I’m so stoked to share it with all of you! This small space took weeks of work, but it was all so worth it!

I am so grateful to my amazing friends at DAP Products for helping me make this space come to life! This small space took so much work, but I couldn’t have done it without them!

This project is sponsored by DAP Products.

You did an amazing job modernizing the space. From the door , the accent wall the nook,floors…..you have great skills and your home is coming together beautifully

  5. Amber Doran on May 31, 2022 at 10:25 pm

I just installed that same front door. It’s a total game changer! So much more light in the room. Love the feature wall, I don’t have a wall to put it on, I was considering using old blind slats and putting similar design on my doors.

  6. Jessica Vega on May 31, 2022 at 10:26 pm

I love the new front door dance! 😂This project turned out beautiful 😍

  7. Robert Evans on May 31, 2022 at 10:26 pm

Ok Sam i am with your dad on fixing the corvette….lol… But those floors are like WOW!!! That front door looks awesome,no amazing!!!

  8. Ally Kuit on May 31, 2022 at 10:27 pm

Can you plaster over the uneven drywall to smooth it out rather than remove it? A professional plasterer could get it perfect.

  9. Angel Girl on May 31, 2022 at 10:30 pm

OMG. What a transformation! I absolutely love it sooooo much.

  10. RGV Texas on May 31, 2022 at 10:30 pm

Glass in the door is a big no-no where I live. Robbers can easily break the glass and unlock the door to gain access.

  11. Jenn B on May 31, 2022 at 10:35 pm

Love that front door! Amazing how smaller changes can make such a big difference! Also, that door doesn’t look bad on the outside of the house. You probably think looks worse than it actually does. I think it goes well enough until you get new siding.

Una bella escalera hacia el Cielo! quedó hermosooo, congratulation! Adoré las repisas de madera y su decoración. Yo pintaría nubes discretas a los costados de la escalera.

I always enjoy your videos and just find this one great again. You always do such amazing challenges and they are a win win.

  14. Ely Knowles on May 31, 2022 at 10:37 pm

I love the new door, what’s the name of that door style?

  15. JJ Johnston on May 31, 2022 at 10:37 pm

It looks amazing! First time watching your channel and I SUBSCRIBED!

  16. Donovan on May 31, 2022 at 10:38 pm

WOW…. That floor looks amazing! Why did the previous owners put laminate on top? Such a shame!

  17. BLoved_Madman on May 31, 2022 at 10:39 pm

Love the video but way to many spoiler alerts 😆

  18. Geld Jager on May 31, 2022 at 10:39 pm

I was watching one of my favorite sitcoms and saw your doppelgänger! Jenny Slate – except you are prettier!

  21. Anna Hanu on May 31, 2022 at 10:40 pm

Kudos to your drywall skills but the zig zaggy wall is not appealing.

  22. Mar M on May 31, 2022 at 10:41 pm

That entryway is 100% better. The floors are way better than that laminate too. The accent wall is an improvement and creates interest. I am interested in seeing the willow oak shelves up close and getting some more info on that. I want to replace our floating shelves in the office and I am thinking of making some with this oak you used and I am liking the dark stain on it. Can you show more of it in another video and expand on the type of stain you used?

  23. kelly marie on May 31, 2022 at 10:47 pm

I talk to myself during projects too!!! And the objects! And any other time I’m by myself 😂

  24. Kristin anderson on May 31, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Is there a link or info for hand rail?

  25. Money Making Mike G. on May 31, 2022 at 10:51 pm

Sam, crazy how a few small changes drop a huge impact. I think you did awesome within the constraints you had. Hoping all is well Homie, Dirt Jersey out!!

  26. kelly marie on May 31, 2022 at 10:51 pm

The worst front door placement for moving furniture

  27. Byn Miller on May 31, 2022 at 10:52 pm

I had an idea about your stair dilemma. You could continue the pattern on the other side (the feature wall) with a thinner material (like screen molding or something similar) that is the same width as the boards on the accent wall.
If you line them up the same on the other side, it might look like the Feature wall boards go all the way through and you "plastered" between them. That would give you and "excuse" to use a thin trim on the uneven edges you were concerned with.

Everything is coming together beautifully 😍👍💪

  29. AL Genaro on May 31, 2022 at 10:56 pm

mudding and taping is a skill that you build over time. if you have to do more, no big deal. you are awesome! i suck at it depending on what kind of joint i’m dealing with. the corner beads and choosing what option is one of the harder joints, plus you pulled out the whole jamb and frame and have old plaster walls like me so it makes it even harder to get smooth. you did a great job and kept it real so i think it will help more people who have never done this and might be nervous about it. thanks for sharing with us!!! great job 🙂

  30. Massimini Makes on May 31, 2022 at 10:56 pm

I love this update! Everything looks amazing and really vibes together well.

But, I am concerned for that mirror. I assume you have some sort of doorstop or way to keep the door from hitting it, but it isn’t visible to me, so I can just picture someone swinging open the door and just destroying the mirror.

  31. Kim’s WRLD on May 31, 2022 at 10:56 pm

Wow big difference I love ❤️ the door great 👍🏽 choice n now it’s so much brighter I love it

    Stunning!
So so soooo very well done.

  35. Andrea S. on May 31, 2022 at 11:03 pm

You are so unbelievably talented. Your entryway came out gorgeous. I wish I had half the skills you do. Where do you recommend another new homeowner start making DIY improvements without any prior experience or a buddy to help? I have so many projects I want to do but no confidence I can do any of them myself. 😔

  36. karen harris on May 31, 2022 at 11:04 pm

I’m so in love with what you do. I’m able to get so many ideas and tips that I didn’t know and they are helping me. I’m in love with that live edge shelf also. Knowing me, I would have kept it the natural color, but it looks good with the stain as well. Can you tell me where you got your live edge shelves?

  37. gail koprowski on May 31, 2022 at 11:05 pm

Amazed at what a few changes made to that area. The mirror is perfect! Great job!

I wouldn’t say that the front door doesn’t match the outside at all. But I LOVE the front door!! Wonderful makeover 🙂
