Stinky campfires that smolder all night stink up
    the whole camp ground.

  4. DrTracy on May 24, 2023 at 1:48 pm

Don’t pull in right next to me at mignight when the campground is half empty and then start your super loud, cheap generator right outside my bedroom window.
Don’t walk into a “dog yard” to knock on the door. Knock outside the yard, because you don’t know how protective those three Dobermans might be when you’re inside that pen knocking on my door.

  5. Stephanie Mitchell on May 24, 2023 at 1:49 pm

I wish everyone going camping would watch this!!!! lol even first timers!!! Thankfully the only comments I have gotten when arriving and setting up are nice lol I strive for "get it in spot first try!"( just for bragging rights being a female driver lol)

  6. Marco Polo on May 24, 2023 at 1:49 pm

Im of the opinion: Treat me as you wish me to treat you. If you disrespect me expect me to do that to you. If I step in your dogs poo in my area expect me to take one on your steps. I go from nice and polite to let’s rumble real quick. The Golden Rule works best in all situations.

What is an ‘Un – wrii – enn’ rule? And what’s the croaking sound in the speaker’s voice? What is ‘cool – cherr’? Not ‘about campground living’, but ‘of’ campground living. Not rules for ‘leashes with pets’, but rules about ‘leashes for pets’. Sweet Je$us, no wonder Generation Z doesn’t know the English language is – they’re watching these and trying to learn the language because no one’s got time at school to teach it. That croaking and inability to speak the native language is enough to seek a campground in the deep woods. Peace out! Oh – and for the 300 million Americans calling it a ‘Fentuhnall’ crisis, it’s ‘Fentanyl’, as in ‘Fent-ah-nill’. There is no such crisis involving ‘Fentuhnall’. You’re safe taking ‘Fentuhnall’, not so much ‘Fentanyl’. And we laugh at ‘The Sopranos’.

Don’t come to Australia then because old Bazza is gonna have jumped in and parked your rig for you and his Mrs has already cracked a tinny for you both and dinner will be ready in 10min. All before you were 5mins in. We do camping on steroids over here. If you’re lucky there’ll be a pig on a spit or Hangy on for dinner then you’re in for a grous time. By the time you leave, you have a new family 🥰 We love adopting strays.

No political flags, even in places that allow it. Don’t walk around with your guns. Follow the generator quiet-time rules.

Wow, what an entitled kamping Karen! If there is no written rule then, there is no rule. Leave no trace is a basic camping rule so idk what you’re talking about with trash in fire pits. The host should deal with the campers leaving trash in the pits and if you see trash when you arrive that’s on the host for not doing their job cleaning and preparing your site. They’re charging way too much money not to do basic prep work for new arrivals. Also, let kids be kids? No, get your kids under control! If I have to leash up my dog or keep them inside to be quiet, I shouldn’t have to listen to your screaming kids all day. Obviously the turn your headlights off when arriving at night is the worst advice given in this video. You’re going to hit something! Possibly a pet or person! As for walking through someone’s campsite, I get you don’t want to be disturbed but you don’t own this property. If your campsite is in-between mine and the water, tough luck I’m walking through it. I have just as much of a right to the parks features and amenities as you do. If you don’t like my lights on at night then, too bad. I like having a security camera running at night to catch thieves or wildlife. Again, if there is no written rule there is no rule. lastly, if you’re trying to pull in next to me and are having trouble there’s no way I’m not going to ask if you need help. I don’t know how many times you’ve done this before and one mistake can be very costly if you run into my rig. Not everyone is sexist when asking if you need help it’s just a common courtesy.

  15. Travis Wagner on May 24, 2023 at 1:58 pm

    You lost me at headlights.

  16. Donna Vincent on May 24, 2023 at 1:58 pm

I live in a community that started as a campsite 60 yrs ago and is now permanent homes – and everyone has a right to cut thru anyone’s lot at any time! :-O Took a bit of getting used to! Was alarming at first. Good thing a neighbor explained it to me before I made a fuss about it.

  17. Wen Kuei Chiang on May 24, 2023 at 2:00 pm

Great rules except about the kids rule I’m fine with kids being kids but I also believe it’s up to the parent to teach the kids on how to behave around other campers I don’t like kids running through other peoples site that to me shows they are a reflection of their parents n that those parents are not responsible parents everything a child does is a reflection of their parents ,just because you are camping it doesn’t mean that kids can run wild out of control, just my thoughts

Early Departures (9:03) People should get ready for early departure the afternoon, or early evening… the day before. So all they have to do is drive away when they’re fully awake and had their coffee.

  19. Susan Liebermann on May 24, 2023 at 2:02 pm

Great video! Pet peeve! Barking dogs! C’mon, people….really? Shut your mutt up!

I wish people would know the rules. As a campground host Im always reminding people to not walk through someone’s space or even my space, noise level etc etc. it’s rude and where’s your manners.

  21. El super pollo on May 24, 2023 at 2:07 pm

Reserve America/aspira connect ppl gotten pissed off that ra only allows 14 consecutive nites, customers cry foul about discounts, or they give the wrong length of thier RV, fifth wheel, or travel trailer then demand they can change the sites they are already checked in the level of acts the way customers act is comical

  22. scackley on May 24, 2023 at 2:07 pm

Interesting video; however I do not agree with all of your "rules". They may be suggestions, and that is fine, but telling someone to turn their lights off if they are pulling in after sunset is just way wrong. Your rule is creating some very unsafe hazards. People leaving early is 3-4 AM; definitely not 7-8 AM and kids can be kids away from the campsites in the play areas, some people have raised their kids already and are enjoying quiet campsites.

Luckily for someone who has been using campsites since the 70’s I have never experienced the problems that you have, so I am very thankful for my life thus far and pray it continues to where I never have to suggest these rules of yours to someone else.

    Happy camping.

As a former volunteer host at a first-come-first-serve state campground, I would like to offer Rule #11: Do not sneak into the campground in the middle of the night while the hosts are asleep to "claim" a site. Thank you!

I think that your cover photo for this video is funny holding up with superheroes I don’t use corrugated hoses I bring different lengths of 3 inch PVC

Travel nurse working nights here ❤ Thanks for mentioning us! I always pick a spot WAY AWAY from playground, pool, kid gathering sites, and as far from others as I can… but loud a$$ music all day really stinks!! 😢 My inside lights are on all night, but I keep my shades closed on windows that face others. I also grocery shop @ 3am but I’ll try to not wake your sleeping kids.

  28. Michealfl on May 24, 2023 at 2:10 pm

Lol I work 50+ hrs a week by the time I’m able to get into the camp site if me lights or noise kids are bothering you all I have to say is F### you I’m in joying my once a month 36 hours camp time 😊

Haven’t been camping in a while and went to the lake last summer, people are so rude now, playing their garbage rap music for everyone to listen to it.

The sponsor video part made me think of a question.. maybe you can help.. is there a app or something out there for unschoolers.. like make a group that talks about where they go and how long they stay. So kids stay together kinda thing?

Girl thank you in vanlife and again was pushed out of a campsite by an rv. Their response was I’m just a van. Sunday afternoon and the entire mt in Dolores was completely empty. Why pull into someone’s campsite. They said they scooter my site out a week ago. What!

We have a Gold Shield cover. We got it because of the difficulty cleaning the camper after it sat under our maple trees for a season. It was kinda fun watching the cover blow up like a balloon during the windy winter storms. It never tore at all. Speaking of which, I need to go get that cover off. Have a great Good Friday!

  40. Brian Wittling on May 24, 2023 at 2:32 pm

THANK YOU for calling out the porch and awning light burners!!! *turn that @!#$ off!!!* seems like it’s gotten especially bad in the last few years. We had someone in a site behind us, in an Airstream leave their LED tail lights and outside marker lights on ALL NIGHT.. the inside of our RV was lit up like were in in Amsterdam. it’s bad enough that a lot of campgrounds now have their own sodium street lights and flood lights they leave on. So much for those starry skies 🙁

  41. Scof 1945 on May 24, 2023 at 2:35 pm

I am surprised no one else has already added this one: At the dump station empty your waste tanks into the drain hole, not onto the ground. When the tanks are empty clean up after yourself by hosing the area down. If you do spill anything onto the ground, wash it down the drain hole.

All too often I find bits of toilet paper and who knows what else, scattered around the area. Twice there were even chunks of human waste. It is sickening!

    Karen’s guide to RV campgrounds…

  45. Ursula Green on May 24, 2023 at 2:37 pm

It’s amazing how many people aren’t respectful in campgrounds. We had a foreigner come out when we were backing in at night,, and just try to take over. He had very loud deep voice that was ridiculous. Very rude. We’ve had a spot where it was close to a playground, with a walk way to the playground on one side. People don’t care, and don’t teach their kids not to walk through peoplea campsite. Everyday, all day long, adults and kids walked through our campsite. Our daughter was young at the time which is why we chose that site. We will never choose a camp site near a playground again, or beach access.

  46. Pops on May 24, 2023 at 2:37 pm

Etiquette is the word you’re looking for. Not unwritten rules. Common sense Etiquette

  47. Rachel Blomstrom on May 24, 2023 at 2:38 pm

I just can’t get with all of these. I mean driving to my spot with no headlights? Not only is it a major safety hazard to drive without headlights at night it’s also illegal. I expect people to have curtains If they are staying in an rv park.

I also expect parents to teach their kids to be respectful of others. Just like if somebody was working during the day and came out and asked kids to quiet down, if they can’t figure that out I expect the parents to ask the kids to move to another location so as to be equally respectful.

  48. JoAnn Hunt on May 24, 2023 at 2:39 pm

Some things we have learned in our camping experience. 1, if the campsite is first come first serve, and you have paid for a spot make sure to leave some items that are not of value such as a table cloth, tent, or chairs to signify to others arriving that that spot is taken. 2, if you are in drier climate, such as New Mexico or Colorado, it is not only suggested, but also the law to not leave a fire burning unattended at any time whether it’s going to bed or leaving your site. In some areas of Colorado it comes with a $5000 fine if the fire is not burning within an approved steel ring and not fully extinguished after you are done with the fire. Always check the state laws. We had to extinguish a fire left behind by a group of campers who neglected to extinguish their fire.

  49. Lamar Carter on May 24, 2023 at 2:40 pm

That’s why we pay fees for the area let them clean up what you might not remember

  50. Grntchstrmdws on May 24, 2023 at 2:43 pm

Exceeelent! But I would love it if people did not use fire pits as incinerators for trash. Just because it is combustible (plastic containers, milk cartons, cardboard) doesn’t mean it should be burned in a fire pit. These materials contain chemicals that are released as gases when burned. Dioxin, for example, is produced when plastic burns. It is highly carcinogenic. (That means it causes cancer!) And extinguish your fire completely if you are finished with it so that smoke doesn’t drift into your neighbor’s campsite. Thank you!
