In today’s video, I’m sharing a living room makeover I did for my friend Jordan! Not only does he have a unique style himself but he has a gorgeous LA apartment filled with so much charm. His living room was the one space in the apartment that needed some TLC and I wanted to redo it for him. I used mostly thrifted finds in the space to coincide with Jordan’s personal style. Not only was this makeover budget friendly but it was a style outside of my comfort zone!

Greetings. I LOVE the choices you made. I’ve watched your channel for some time now am always amazed at your thought process and what you do with a space. The sofa is divine.

Thank you for being open to ask for your viewers opinions on what they think.

Here is some Thoughts/Feedback/Recommendations: Potential for the door to have black trim on the inside of the 3 squares only to add color pop and break up the white wall. Consider painting the underside of the natural board a different stain so there are choices in color schemes if wanted to switch things up in the future. The black paper lantern cord could be changed to white and use square tacks to keep it pinned in place so it doesn’t attract the eye. I’m ambivalent about keeping the 2 windows white instead of painting them black. I think they look good as they are, however, I think it would look good as black as well.

On a side note, I hope you take Roger up on his request to redo his apartment. He doesn’t strike me as the type of person to say something off the cuff. It seemed as though he didn’t want to impose (as is the norm for his generation). Something to consider.

I look forward to your future videos.

    Love and Peace.

So multi gifted- Drew you’re amazing. Love how you upholstered the arms of the chair, the pedestal and vase(stunning swap out), the black window trim and curtains- perfect. I loved everything. Wall sconces great choice, media shelf 👍 Perfectly masculine space and every detail works so well together. Love how much of a visionary you are. Seeing potential in thrifted items and then bringing the vision to life – so exciting to watch 👏👏👏

I love how it turned out! I love what I call vintage/modern! My favorite ecletic mix of old and new!

  12. eym773 on August 7, 2022 at 1:11 am

    It’s lovely

  13. Cindy J. on August 7, 2022 at 1:13 am

I really like Lone Fox’s videos and his taste. My favorite things about the room were the rust-colored curtains and the sofa. The vase looked better than the plant, but it won’t be easy to avoid knocking the vase off that pedestal, given how long the branches are. I loved the rush tops on the stools but not the bases on the two stools. They seemed clunky and the finish was too glossy and 1970-ish.

  15. Diane Kenna on August 7, 2022 at 1:14 am

Drew, you are truly amazing. Such a force of talent (and so cute)! Be sooo proud of yourself!

  16. Lori Hanby on August 7, 2022 at 1:15 am

I love everything you did, especially the vase on the pedestal in place of the tree. I like the black framed windows but can’t help but wonder why you didn’t paint the others as well, especially the one in the corner by the pedestal. It looks out if place next to the painted frames windows.

  21. Corinna Goodwin on August 7, 2022 at 1:17 am

I love the all the cha ges…but the original wall lights, I think they would look better in the room. The brassy ones don’t match all the other tones one brought in.

  22. Grandma Suzys Funny Farm on August 7, 2022 at 1:18 am

    The room looks phenomenal

  23. Nancy on August 7, 2022 at 1:20 am

  24. Lone Fox on August 7, 2022 at 1:20 am

I absolutely love mixing old with new! A bunch of the decor and furniture is from the thrift store however the new sofa really grounds the space. Go to allform.com/lonefox for 20% off any sofa of your choice. I chose their 3 seater sofa in dark smoke leather!

  25. YVRCasey on August 7, 2022 at 1:22 am

Hmm, that huge long wire for the light could do with a new solution… it’s too long to look ok like that… Well done for thrifting a lot of furniture.

  26. Cindy J. on August 7, 2022 at 1:24 am

I like the color of the curtains and how they blend with the black window frames, but I don’t like the way they hang. The top of the curtain panels droops in places and the pleats look kind of sloppy, and they’re kind of shiny / polyesterish. Ikea’s Dytag curtains (semi-sheer linen) in a similar color would have also been a good option. They might look better if they were doubled (two panels instead of one). But this is probably me being nitpicky, and I don’t want to take away from the fact that he did a nice job with this room.

  27. Sybille on August 7, 2022 at 1:28 am

too matchy matchy— borderline yawn…required some small accessories in the color of the stripe on chair and painting behind sofa could have been MUCH larger ( this one looks very lonely all the way up there) Room doesn‘t feel young and energizing- more like a reception room of an undertaker‘s house. sorry— not feeling it! PS always like your sense for detail ( like cutting the rim of the grow pot so it looks flawless or touching up screws in the same color as the brackets)

wish there was a video of Jordan seeing the place after the makeover.

  37. Doggothegoodboi on August 7, 2022 at 1:37 am

This is a great example of why I just DO NOT understand the sorcery behind interior design. There were only like 1 or 2 elements of this design that I liked on their own….but together?? It’s inviting, warm, cozy, and chic. I doubted it for 20 minutes and then it ended up looking like a CB2 catalogue. Seriously wish I had an ounce of this talent.

  38. Maverick Mayhem on August 7, 2022 at 1:39 am

Lovely outcome just don’t like the hanging string in the ceiling. Thoughts about using cord covers, or painting the cord?

  39. R Mac on August 7, 2022 at 1:40 am

You really are amazing at what you do! 😗

Sort of American *wabi sabi.* I’m moving into a new building rental in 2023, 429 sq. ft., self-described "Nordic style," and have to figure out what to do with my existing stuff to "make it new."

  50. sue mount on August 7, 2022 at 1:54 am

I would have painted the other window black too, love the rusty colour pop and that chair looks fantastic
