FURNITURE ON A DIME π BEST console/sofa table for $15 (no skill required)
Hey, guys! You seem to love this series, so today I am showing you how to make a solid wood console table for just $15. This DIY requires NO skill. Similar items online are upwards of $200 so it’s crazy how quickly you can make something similar on a dime!
π MATERIALS:
Four 8 feet furring strips ($1.98 each) and have them cut in store as follows (this is free):
Four 8″ pieces
Four 30″ pieces
Four 50″ pieces
Top piece cut to 10″ x 54″, usually they come in 6′ lengths for about $6 (I prefer 1 inch thick here, up to you).
Total cost of supplies is about $15. I used a small amount of Dark Walnut Stain and once that dried, used a Polycrlic finish (2 coats) over the project to help protect it! You need a VERY small amount of both!

I just put a 30 inch clock on the wall and am wanting a sofa table under it. Iβm considering making one instead of buying one. This one looks easy because I have no skills at making furniture.
I swear I would just use Gorilla wood glue π€£
Helloβ¦I β€οΈ your videos. Iβm ready to build my console table. The description is 30 inches but you stated in the video that the wood was 32 inches? Can you clarify before I head to the hardware store? Thank you π

Form this 2-in x 2-in-x-8-ft you will need
Four 30β
Four 8β
Four 50β
Top you need 12β x 54β
Can you tell me the final height of this table?
Could you type here the type of screws you bought?
Your description says four 30β pieces but in the video it says 32β. Which one is correct please?

Since you used the 2" fir strips is it sturdy enough to use as a table? Or is it wobbly?
This is just what I need! Can you please tell me what the dimensions of the finished project? And furring strips come in different sizes, do you know what size you used? Thanks for the awesome video!
Furring strips here are so badly twisted you can’t do anything with them.
Frugal brothers too!
Cute (and, compatible) couple. Fun to watch. GREAT IDEA! Beautiful results.
I finally made mine thank you guys.
I donβt know why I try to watch anyone else. You are the best at probably everything I want to do lol π

Are the furring strips 1 x 2 x 8, 1 x 3 x 8 or 2 x 2 x 8. I plan on making this next weekend!
Your husbands βlook at that, that is a thingβ reaction is basically me anytime I make anything.

Iβm redoing my deck and wanted a side table just like this!! Thanks! Iβm going to give it a try!
I do a little woodworking and I’m having trouble figuring out your support piece. 8" + 1.5 + 1.5 (legs)=11". Your top piece is only 10 which isn’t really ten. What am I missing??
How thick is the board that goes on top anyone know??
Thank you! Yours looks the cheapest and the most detailed explanation. Iβm gonna make this table this weekend.
Omg I bout passed out with the "your hand is on the other side!" Lmao!

This is so helpful and looks super easy..I’m going to try it this weekend…Thank You.
Itβs like 80$ now
You are awesome! How did you get your table top side edges so flat? Just by sanding or did your home depot strip off the edges for you? My home depot does the cross cuts but wouldnβt strip off the sides so I get a flat sides.
How much weight can you put on it?
Thank you so much Iβve been looking for easy do it yourself table and this is perfect you guys rock!!!
Catherine, just want to let you know there is a little discrepancy in your list-to-video supply list. My husband and I are in the process of making this project and hit a little road block. The video states 4 pieces 32β long but the project list states 30β long. Also, the furring strips you purchase in the video states, 1βx2β however the video shows Charlie using 2βx2β pieces.
Sorry to point this out but just trying to avoid anyone else from hitting the road block.
Love you and your family and absolutely love your channel. Thanks for all you do!!
And if no one has told you today, YOU ARE ENOUGH! ππ
