Hard Times Finding Camping Spots in Northern Minnesota

Hard Times Finding Camping Spots in Northern Minnesota

This week I headed to a couple of State Forests in north central Minnesota. Unfortunately, I leaned that Minnesota closes most Forestry Roads in the spring. I had a knock on my camper door by a very helpful and knowledgeable Conservation Officer. I was not able to camp at my chosen location, but The CO informed me of some other camping options for later in the year. I put on a couple hundred miles over the weekend, the gas prices are really hitting my wallet hard. The upgrades I did to the truck camper last week worked great. I am really happy to have a spray wand to wash dishes, and the batteries kept the furnace running all night with plenty of power to spare. I am going to do a little experiment. I don’t believe anyone reads these descriptions, even though I spend a lot of time planning what to say. If you do happen to read this leave, a comment in the video telling me what your favorite truck camper is. I would be absolutely shocked if more than three people leave a comment.
Thanks for coming along on this week travels. I’ll see ya’ next week!

Wow, that sunset over the lake was amazing! I really like your voice overs in this one too. Very well put together, I especially enjoyed this trip. Itโ€™s great to have friends and relatives to fall back on when all the forests are closed. I deal with the same stuff out here all too often.

Hi Kenny. My husband’s favorite truck camper is a Lance but we have a Palomino pop up truck camper. We really love going on adventures with her. Your french toast looked yummy. PS. Yes, we read the description all the way through. Have a wonderful rest of your week. Mary ๐Ÿ’•Fred

I’ve stolen a few recipes from you and this french toast will undoubtedly be another one. That will be Sunday morning for sure. Any idea what brand pan that is you were using ?

You mentioned the tall shop door suitable to fig your rig and I am curious if you have ever measured the total height of the unit, that would be to the top of the highest vent on the roof. I wonder how it compares to my brothers camper on a dually which tend to be lower sometimes due to smaller tires vs some single wheel pickups. Mind you he has extra leafs in the rear to support the weight but his total height is 11′ 10" or close to that, a lot of so called 12 foot doors would hardly be tall enough if even as shop door openings usually are slightly under their designated height and width.

My favourite truck camper is one that’s on the truck and ready to go! ๐Ÿ˜€ I am loaded up and excited to get out this week to start the camping season up here in British Columbia. It’s still pretty chilly and the weather is calling for rain but nothing is going to stop me ๐Ÿ˜› I love seeing you cooking in the camper! Great video as always ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi! Professional chef of 30 years here. Very nice French toast you got there. One tip, add a healthy pinch of salt into your egg/milk mixture. Salt added to a sweet dish adds depth and something we refer to as โ€œintangible flavorโ€, when something is wonderfully delicious and youโ€™re not quite sure why. Give it a try, and if you like it you can mail me some of that amazing maple syrup!๐Ÿ˜‰ Greetings from NYC. Just found your channel and Iโ€™m loving it. Subscribed immediately ๐Ÿ‘

Good morning Kenny, Tim here from Kansas City (Go Chiefs)…… Iโ€™m the one that drove from KC to Minneapolis to pick up our new Palomino truck camper and you gave me some advice on the Timbren products. Thank you so much, the 450 mile drive from Mpls to KC was rough. When I got home and before we headed out west on a 2700 mile road trip I installed the Timbren parts and what a world of difference. The back and forth swaying motion was reduced by 75% Iโ€™d say. We boondocked the whole way through Oklahoma Texas New Mexico Arizona Utah Colorado and Kansas. Thanks again for the input, no more seasickness! Stay safe and keep posting please.

Thanks again for showing us around. Coming from the South where we usually don’t Trust anyone Nice people can be scary, idiots & aholes we know how to deal with, butt the ๐Ÿ‘ƒnosey ones I despise. Hate it when they know how many plies of TP we use & try to recommend a different brand. Now that’s a Shop. Surprised your relative doesn’t have an undercarriage sprayer on 2 wheels.

Minnesota nice, as a lifelong resident, it is overrated in my experience. Nose problems always. Just can not mind their own business.

We live fulltime in a 40′ 5th wheel but hope to one day get a truck camper for adventures. Would love to get a Northern Lite or a Lance.
Lived in MI. for 30 yrs now AZ. I don’t miss the cold but I do miss the trees.
Thanks for the videos, I love your style.
