Kara, I really like your thought process. Getting outside your "comfort zone" makes a person more "street smart" — more competent, aware, practical, intuitive, conscious — and because it makes a person more alert this ironically can translate to being safer when you are feeling your way through "sticky" situations. Feeling emotionally safer in say a locked house or apartment is not necessarily being safer. The difference between a smart person and a dumb person is a smart person knows how dumb she is and a dumb person does not. Getting outside your comfort zone can make you more careful and humble, more aware of your abilities and limits. You are a better judge of what you can and cannot do…. On your van, I really like the elegant simplicity of your design — a lot. You have helped me think my design through. Thank you for sharing. Really like your refrigerator, the best I have seen. The only thing I would do differently is: use a diesel heater, and add a side of cabinet flip up kitchen work space, and I would also have a pull out cassette toilet hiding under the bed. Also I plan to build a recirculating shower with a propane on demand water heater with a wrap around shower curtain (ie the shower does not have to be a dedicated area, but can be in a hall way, or remove the table, and use the space where the table was for the shower). The water will be recirculated, pumped through a filter and reheated. I will be able to take a 30 minute hot shower but only use a gallon of water. And I can reuse that gallon of water three or four times before replacing it. It is really cool. Thank you.

I’m retiring in a few years, and I’m going to be flying solo most likely. So this video is inspiring, especially with that great dog. Peace.

Breaking stereotypes gives me pleasure. Like bursting bubbles on bubble wrap, one by one. Society makes progress, little by little.

  12. Macdaddy on September 1, 2022 at 4:31 am

She probably lives only 30 minutes from home lol

  13. Donna Ojeda on September 1, 2022 at 4:31 am

Great van.. Would love the link for the "non paper towels"

Love this girlπŸ‘πŸ™‚.. How I used to be.. Then I stupidly got married and had kids.. This was my personal death.. Been in hell ever since.. Now kept prisonerπŸ”— abroad through German divorce law, no way to escape the country or the 9 to 5 rat race until my kids are older.. Kids have to go to school here.. No "homeschooling" option like in the US. Tiny houses are illegal here. Germany is a shit, controlling, confining, career-mum hating country.. No freedom to live life like you want to!… If only I had known this before marrying here and having kids.. Now I sit in this German "prison" life, rotting until I can be free again when my kids are older… But so will I be.

I know I have traveled and backpacked all over the world and lived when I was young.. I just hope I live to do it again… And find freedom and happiness again.

  32. Cheryl Perkins on September 1, 2022 at 4:53 am

YEARS ago I would have done it. I live in an area of Florida that is no longer safe. I see insanity quite often. My building has 24 hour security. We need it.

  33. Philippine Cowboy on September 1, 2022 at 4:53 am

    Nice van, no toilet

  46. Victori7 on September 1, 2022 at 5:16 am

I want to do this. However, I want to utilize the entire space as home including the cab. It seems very few people do that, I just noticed she does. The cab also, would be my "dining space" I ‘d want both the cab seats to swivel like she does, and I’d place a temporary shade over the front window while I eat.
