You made me laugh “….start shovin’ stuff up there”. You’ve got to be from the south 😂😂😂love it

  2. Lana Abraham on July 1, 2022 at 11:09 pm

Good tips but the end product was not visually cohesive because the variation in shape and size too were far apart. The lamps in particular were too large and linear to be placed in such close proximity and they ended up overpowering the other pieces of décor. Otherwise, it looked great.

I’m sorry , not being a designer myself, there are lots of nice items on the display but to me it looks a little cluttered.

  4. Charis Williams on July 1, 2022 at 11:12 pm

I appreciate your videos, keep up the cool work! I make similar videos too 🙂

I personally like to keep above my cabinets pretty simple with not much stuff because the more you have, the more you have to dust, LOL.

  7. Amethyst Perez on July 1, 2022 at 11:16 pm

Do people put decor above the kitchen cabinets this days?

  8. Andrew Garcia on July 1, 2022 at 11:17 pm

That song and it’s beat are too unnecessary for this.

  9. Purpleallium on July 1, 2022 at 11:17 pm

am the only one who liked, ‘before’ better? It looked cozier.

  10. El Mac on July 1, 2022 at 11:18 pm

This is from the 80’s, right?

  11. Gaye MarianesFox on July 1, 2022 at 11:19 pm

I don’t agree with the 20” rule. I have less than that and I can still vary heights. It looks to bare without anything.

  12. Audrey Cole on July 1, 2022 at 11:19 pm

Tips are good- accessories chosen aren’t great.

  13. Joyful 2022 on July 1, 2022 at 11:21 pm

Pretty if you have dropped cabinets but what about the space between ceiling and top of cupboards that is flush with cabinets? Only about 8 or so inches? Leave it alone?

  14. Jocelyn Kitaka on July 1, 2022 at 11:21 pm

love your videos! keep it up

  15. Ana B-Ez on July 1, 2022 at 11:22 pm

This is so cute! And looks so personal! You’ve inspired me to add green! I’m in San Diego too. Thanks for the tips.

  16. Madd Scientist on July 1, 2022 at 11:27 pm

rather have the cabinets to the ceiling! or place pottery, platters, copper pots up above cabinets………….large cookbooks on their side also work

  17. M H on July 1, 2022 at 11:28 pm

I just bought a home whose previous owner had 3 times as much stuff up there than you do in this video. How do you find time to clean them all? And how often? I don’t think mine were ever cleaned..they caked with dust and dead mayflies/moths behind the decorations..

  18. iam tenrose on July 1, 2022 at 11:30 pm

    This looks like storage

  19. MyEveryDayWifeLife on July 1, 2022 at 11:31 pm

Thanks so much for this! I was having a really hard time trying to figure out how to decorate above cabinets. I think I know what to do now.

  20. Pixilate U on July 1, 2022 at 11:33 pm

I agreed with everything you said, but then was surprised that you used wall to wall vignettes. I loved the vignette to the right, and one more smaller one, maybe using just one of the lanterns, would’ve been nice over the oven or in the right corner. I really love your other work, but this result seems much more cluttered than the before to me. But then no one’s ever paid me for my interior design skills 😛

  21. Sai Shree on July 1, 2022 at 11:33 pm

    Very Nice madam

  22. peapotter3 on July 1, 2022 at 11:34 pm

I don’t know.  I agree that the greenery that was there before was dated, but it looks like you need stronger visual pieces like baskets or things you don’t have to strain you eye to see.  It seems kind of cluttered with the small pieces.  So sorry.  I’ve loved all of your other videos.

  23. 🦇The Asexual Vampire🦇 on July 1, 2022 at 11:34 pm

Ha, ha, my mom still has fake greenery that’s probably thirty years old and untouched; it’s nasty.

  24. Carlos Torres on July 1, 2022 at 11:35 pm

Nice video, but why the intro music sounds like you’re about to jam some rhymes?

  25. Mary Newsome on July 1, 2022 at 11:37 pm

It seems like there are too many items on there.

  26. xundre B on July 1, 2022 at 11:37 pm

  29. Vickie Morris on July 1, 2022 at 11:46 pm

Once again you helped me with a dilemma.  Decorating above my kitchen cabinets.  I met you in VA last month at a birthday party with Joe and each time I start a project your videos are always an inspiration.  Thanks, Vickie

Love your music. Thanks for sharing.

  31. Simon on July 1, 2022 at 11:48 pm

I just like the cabinet to hang right against the ceiling. I don’t know why people leave space in between, it just makes the room looks so short. It won’t look good no matter how you decorate it. The best way is to add crown moulding

  32. TEAMJESUS 70 on July 1, 2022 at 11:48 pm

I miss the 1980’s. I really do ! This whole new BORING TWENTIES Crap, Really Sucks So Far.

Its so sticky and dusty. Dont keep it open at all

  34. Bettylou on July 1, 2022 at 11:52 pm

I have between 4 and 6 feet above cabinets that are much to small, builders cheap choices. What do I do until I can remodel the entire kitchen? It is hideous !

  35. Kita Kita on July 1, 2022 at 11:52 pm

Keep in mind, y’all, this was 2015!! I’m sure there is an update…lol

  36. Laura O on July 1, 2022 at 11:57 pm

Thanks for the vid, but may I suggest some plants, instead of plastic that goes into landfill every 5 years the timer goes off?

  37. onglielie on July 1, 2022 at 11:59 pm

    Too many , looks messy

  38. BodyByKym Fitness on July 2, 2022 at 12:01 am

I like that wood boarder running above the cabinets

  39. Endless Midnight on July 2, 2022 at 12:01 am

Did she mean 20 in in height or width? also, what’s a bumpout?

  40. julie seymour on July 2, 2022 at 12:01 am

It’s too cluttered for my taste but I love the lanterns, just not in that space. Thanks

I found some amazing plans for Woodglut. Just check them out.

  42. dgmlmax on July 2, 2022 at 12:06 am

Could you do an updated video on this topic. I know trends change. Sometimes decorating above the cabinets is in, and sometimes not.

  43. Debby Barstow on July 2, 2022 at 12:07 am

    Liked the plants better
