I’ve stripped textured wallpaper to reveal a heavily pitted stone-like surface. What are the necessary steps to take before painting? Should I plaster it first?

The quickest way to remove the wallpaper
Fill an empty spray bottle with (1/4 thick bleach + 3/4 water)
Spray the wall and after 5 minutes remove the wallpaper.
Wear a face mask 😷 and keep windows open for aeration.

Do you need to apply undercoat or primer to an already painted wall??

  17. Gollammeister on July 16, 2023 at 1:48 pm

I just use 100 grit to 120 grit fine sandpaper or 60 if it’s really rough such as a lump of filler then switch to fine finish sandpaper then using a damp cloth wipe all areas of walls especially where you have sanded so it will remove dust dirt better to paint onto a clean surface than dirty
