This week’s episode takes us to a gorgeous minimal 4 room resale HDB that is at about 1,119 square feet in size. Home owners Haikal and Hanis only moved in January of this year, and their main consideration was for a home to be comfortable and practical considering their two young sons.

They didn’t have a style preference in mind, but knew they wanted something minimal, and that is clean and uncluttered. As a result, this can be seen from the foldable doors in the living that hides their storage area seamlessly and the open concept kitchen. It’s white and super clean, with enough space for an island in the middle. It’s practical too, as there are sliding doors that can close it up should there be more heavy duty cooking.

What’s cool is the unique living room setup, where they have incorporated a floor sofa together with a huge carpet. In this way because everything is set lower, the place feels more spacious yet has the advantage of a safer playing area for the kids as well.

Special thanks to Haikal and Hanis for being gracious hosts and showing us around! For more on their lovely home please visit @hanisrohayat

I love it it doesn’t adhere to a theme every other person likes to tag their house with. Instead, this couple plans it the way it works for their family. I like their mindset. Great home!

Wow got to say they really planned their space well according to their needs. Watched almost all your vids. This has gotta be my fav. Brilliant idea for storage, efficient kitchen layout and the boys can run around the home safely!

The open kitchen concept with the sliding doors is cool ๐Ÿ˜

My fav is the storeroom. How easily it is for the owners to get their things out of the storeroom… Hahaha… Unlike them, in my own little storeroom, i will have to take care not to knock over one thing in order to get to another.

Seems like singaporeans are hacking down walls now to make their pigeonhole homes look โ€œbiggerโ€

Given the increase in popularity of bigger resale flats, we really wanted to showcase more homes that were massively transformed to fit the taste of homeowners today. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re happy to be able to feature Haikal and Hanisโ€™s home that incorporates a clever storage design that allows them to achieve a clean, minimal look even with 2 little ones ๐Ÿ™Œ Which part of their home is your favourite? finally a Minimalist home!

    not your usual S n C themed.

Not to mention that La Germania free standing cooker is absolutely gorgeous and really expensive $3,188 but it comes with 5 aluminum burner with cast iron support and a 142 litre oven. 2 appliance for the price of 1 why not?

    Nice house!

This is a beautiful home! And I love that the couple made it work for both their kids without compromising on what they want for themselves too. A well thought out home.

For a corridor unit, how do they ensure ventilation in the living room? it seems like the corridor windows are always closed up and covered by Venetian blinds for privacy

  21. TemasekClass on January 2, 2023 at 3:28 am

    Beautiful!

  22. Rex on January 2, 2023 at 3:28 am

This is nice. Not too showy, not too impractically minimalist like a showroom. Form and function almost perfect balance. #Goals.

  25. N A on January 2, 2023 at 3:34 am

I need to know where the kids bed is from because that is a genius idea

  26. Irene Goh on January 2, 2023 at 3:46 am

Love the look and space. Did the owner keep all 3 bedrooms or knock one to enlarge the living/dining area?

  27. Kah Hao Tay on January 2, 2023 at 3:46 am

    Beautiful place!

Everything about this home – the lovely family, the decor & setting, the parents’ views & ideas – is just wonderful ( I couldn’t agree more especially with what Haikal said ) I super like THAT hidden storage and kitchen sliding doors! (It’s half glass so cut down on the amount of glass cleaning and slide into the wall and disappear when open, unlike folding ones that take up floor space) They make the color White interesting with lovely choices of furniture (very nice dinning area setting)home accessories, kids stuffs (milimalist cute) and most importantly, lots of love and warmth. I feel very happy for them while enjoying looking at this very nice home.
