I love rugs they add a nice landing place especially with hardwood floors I also suggest not getting to fluffy of a rug for your living room or family room I think it’s best to get more of a flat and compact (if you will) rug I surprised myself at what I just said (im only 13)

What about rug for bedroom when bed is against one wall?

  17. K P on May 23, 2020 at 12:52 am

I like the rules, but they are not at all practical in a 1970’s home like mine, but it does make me curious to know what kind of homes other have. They must be huge.

What if I want to do the no legs on the rug but instead of a coffee table what I have is a rectangular ottoman? Would it look good as well?

There are cheaper options for the bedrooms. U shape rugs which do not go under the bed, just around are way cheaper and can imitate fist and second option

  31. anacecilialoves on May 23, 2020 at 1:22 am

what app are you using on your ipad?

Thank you, thank you, Maia, for making a helpful video with real-life interior design tips! In reading the other glowing comments, would you please make more videos with content along these these lines?! I am so tired of looking at interior design videos on Youtube (in looking for the sort of meaningful tips that you provide) but only to find these perfect, perfect spaces that would seem impossible to inhabit. (I have no idea how the surface area of every table is covered in cute accessories, allowing no space to set-down a book, phone, purse or glass of wine. Aaagh.) So, please, Maia, please provide guidelines on how to mix the patterns of a kind-of floral rug with the zigzag print of West Elm curtains. (Is that possible?) And what are some tips for putting together a bedroom?

Not a fan of a rug in the dining area! Inevitably, the food is going to fall down and liquids such as wine are going to spill over.

Any tips to make sure the sides of an area rug don’t curl up?
I avoid area rugs because I hate that curl up on the sides, or even without them the potential to trip on the edge.
