Most of this is modern Scandinavian and definitely not MCM…

Timelessness comes to mind. The Bauhaus or the International Style had many interpretations and its American school bequeathed us the mid century modern. Clean, simple and functional design that looks good is the ethos. Its never dated and while many things come and go, it still remains fresh.

Hi. I really like your videos. I have question and it will be great if you can respond it. Do you think Ikea Skogsta dining table look like farm house style. I do not like farm house but I like this table. It looked a bit farm house style to me. Thank you.

OK, not a mid-century person. Glad you said brass….I don’t like brass so the mirror I was considering had gold color metal frames. I liked the shape but not the gold frames. Was considering painting black. I think I will go with my second choice with silver mirror frames. I think I am Contemporary Modern as I love the modern odd curves and geometric shapes in a glass top coffee table and kitchenette table.

Chair legs pointing outward…what comes to mind is trip potential. I like straight downward legs or none with low back couch. Accent chairs barrel with silver metal accents or swivel. Kitchen acrylic slab doors with no hardware or silver frame pulls. Woods – expresso, white acrylic, or Walnut. Metals black, copper, or silver. Stone ok too. I don’t like curtains so privacy shades would be perfect or not heavy window treatments. I also love the floating shelf entertainment furniture. So many styles to choose from and hope I don’t mix the wrong style.

I didn’t know there were too many interior design styles 😅 when decorating my place I always picked what I liked the most at each store and what would match what I already have.
I really thought that my style was more of a boho style but with this video I just found out that all my furniture and decor is more of a mid-century style 😅 velvet, linen, modern in law plants, leather, light wood, windows. Haha i love it 😍

  37. Daniel Billingsley on May 1, 2023 at 12:36 pm

Im a total MCM and Baihaus guy. I thought she did a pretty good job of showing MCM inspired furniture rack you can get off the rack. But do go to vintage stores and antique dealers where you can find the real deal. There is nothing like a 1960s or 1970s teak credenza.

  38. P4uLy on May 1, 2023 at 12:37 pm

interpreation of a basic woman with basic taste for basic audience who dont know any better!!

  47. An G on May 1, 2023 at 12:50 pm

I’m rather new to your channel, and found you through an episode in this series about japandi. I do not want to offend, I only have a suggestion of what I would really enjoy seeing in your videos more of:
When you explain details in length as you do for example in 13:27 , it would be great to see example pictures pop up on the screen to make the viewer really understand what you mean. Even when you say "for example, my own couch…" it would be great to see either your couch, or the same model from online pictures to understand what you mean by it. But perhaps I simply don’t know your flat at all because I’m only watching this series of "how to style/show for this style" 🌹

  48. Chris Mendez on May 1, 2023 at 12:52 pm

Biggest waste of time you didn’t show anything and talk to much omg!!!

  49. Deauna Shauri-Webb on May 1, 2023 at 12:53 pm

Excellent video for someone like me who has no clue what they’re doing. I’ve been noticing mid-century modern everywhere I go now. Thank you! Please do a shopping video for contemporary style.
