Hi Jenna, me again.. I went into my kitchen this morning and we made a half wall between my best in area and living room few years back, and created a breakfast bar and have saddle stools which are a darker wood, and the top of the breakfast bar is a medium stain with darker lines and goes well with the seating , my round table and chairs are like a honey gold with darker lines in the wood which is my eat in kitchen area.. so as far as wood tones go, I guess I’ve been trending.. 😂

Love the video but don’t forget how do designer’s get the stylus for the new year by looking at other peoples USSSS that know what they like and decorate there homes in the way they LOVE. Designers get way to much credit for setting the trends. I can see some people may have trouble finding there designs they like but look at what you have that is your trend . And i am talking about decorating . i was once in the designing and decorating world❤👍

  3. Laura Dulski on February 28, 2023 at 6:57 am

Love the photos from all the designers, thanks for your efforts making it easy for us to see what’s out there. Very helpful!

  4. Jill Kimball on February 28, 2023 at 6:57 am

I have been playing with the idea of cafe curtains on my sink window. It faces the cul-de-sac we live on. I might pull the trigger now. 😁. TY!

  5. Kathy Klarfeld on February 28, 2023 at 6:58 am

    Thanks

I don’t know why, but it amazes me how trends make their way back around every so often! My husband and I renovated a house before we were married in 1997 and we used checkerboard tile in the kitchen (Hunter green & white) and master bath (black & white). We had a dark wood vintage bedroom suite, which we still have, and a vintage kitchen table with matching China cabinet given to us from his grandmother. We also arched our main doorways. Here we are 26 years later and in the process of building our forever home (getting too old for this mess!) and going back to a lot of the things we’ve done before that I once said I would never do again! I know now to make sure to do things that can easily be changed!

Great video. Don’t care for cafe curtain trend. I do like adding art to the kitchen.

  8. Dw64 on February 28, 2023 at 7:07 am

I absolutely hate cafe curtains and the sink skirts, but then again I hate the whole grandma chic trend 🤷🏻‍♀️

  9. Алена on February 28, 2023 at 7:10 am

    ❤❤❤🙋‍♀️👍👍👍💐

  10. Vicky Burley on February 28, 2023 at 7:10 am

I’m not really into the cafe/skirt trend, nor the floral prints or wallpaper. I always appreciate your videos and the time you take to keep us informed about home decor. Thanks Jenna. ❤❤😊

  11. Cynthia Nehrbass on February 28, 2023 at 7:15 am

Jenna, thank you for getting us up to date with the new trends. I am in the process of redoing my kitchen. I’ve always wanted a white kitchen with blue accents. I will incorporate some of the trends, but I definitely will not be adding cafe curtains or a sink skirt. I did that 37 years ago. I live at the beach and I like to have an eclectic look. I love antiques and vintage furniture.

  12. Anne Dugan-Odonnell on February 28, 2023 at 7:15 am

Thanks for some great ideas, not one to go all out w trends but like the idea of accent pieces that can change w trends!!! Cafe curtains r ok but have never liked the sink skirts and I’m 76!!!

  13. Sherri on February 28, 2023 at 7:16 am

You have such an easy way of explaining things but yet showing people that you can do things on a high or low budget and still come out with a beautiful home feeling very inspired! I would love to see you do something with coastal decor on an upscale level. Everything you do is classic! I really appreciate your videos… They’re very relaxing but yet I feel like we’re having a master class! Thank you so much! Great job!💙

  14. Barbara Cole on February 28, 2023 at 7:16 am

I don’t decorate according to trends myself, I just pick out what I like or replace worn out furnishings, I always start at thrift stores or make my own decor and add lots of big beautiful house plants

  15. Wanda Bagi on February 28, 2023 at 7:16 am

Not a fan of sink skirts and cafe curtains, too grandma ish and I’m 70!

  16. Casey Hightower on February 28, 2023 at 7:17 am

Definitely not digging the cafe curtains and sink skirts. It doesn’t look high-end compared to other trends on the rise. Maybe a good option for some regrettably installed overdone open shelves tho? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I feel like grandma chic will be a mere whisper compared to dramatic panda marble and more warm, saturated colors in isolated rooms. Absolutely a no on wallpaper in any bathroom or laundry room (any room with exposure to moisture). I have tons of clients who regret wallpaper in those areas because it started to peel or malfunction (and it’s a nightmare to remove). Maybe I’ll be a neutral gal for life lol. Love your videos!

  17. LightningBolt CK1 on February 28, 2023 at 7:17 am

No no and NO!…grew up with cabinet curtains everywhere!…ugly dust collectors

  18. Sky on February 28, 2023 at 7:17 am

Excellent well diversed presentation ❤. You’ve inspired me immensely! What is your take on cafe curtains in combination with white plantation shutters? Please 😁

  19. Carmen Sanders on February 28, 2023 at 7:20 am

A fun and informative video. I’m a grandma but a big NO to the grandma sink skirts and cafe curtains, just sayin.

  20. Cynthia Driggers on February 28, 2023 at 7:21 am

I love the idea of sink skirts. I think it would bring a lot of warmth to the kitchen

  21. Christina Amezquita on February 28, 2023 at 7:22 am

Thank you for all the great information, it helps to see what is going and coming.

  22. Laura Wilde on February 28, 2023 at 7:22 am

I’m all in for the cafe curtains ☺️

  23. Patricia Oldfather on February 28, 2023 at 7:23 am

I can see cafe curtains, but sink skirts…
    No thanks.

  24. Candy Owens on February 28, 2023 at 7:24 am

Your videos are on point and very informative. Would prefer not to be distracted with your hands moving constantly.

  25. Bgirl46 va on February 28, 2023 at 7:25 am

Good information. Thanks for all your time to do this. I’m glad I’ve kept all my vintage . from my great grandmother and grandmother and my finds

  26. Richard Feldman on February 28, 2023 at 7:26 am

nooooo on the sink skirts unless you’re going for a farmhouse or cottage look. Cafe curtains are ok.

  27. Paula Daly on February 28, 2023 at 7:26 am

I’m so enjoying your videos. Although I’m not sure I will be hopping on board the trend train I do need a new sofa. I like your blue sectional. Do you still like it and can you send a link for it?

  28. Columbary House on February 28, 2023 at 7:26 am

It amazes me as a antique store owner, that the young are not as interested, the quality was sooooc much better back then

  29. Ann Marie Buckley on February 28, 2023 at 7:28 am

I love the advice you offer! Makes weathering trends easier. Thank you so much!

  32. Melanie Hernandez on February 28, 2023 at 7:32 am

    Cafe curtains. Lol

  33. Debbie Williams on February 28, 2023 at 7:33 am

Nope, nope, those dark walls and tiles were just ripped out of most homes on tv shows and if you had gold fixtures or pulls they were outdated. That floral wallpaper is hideous. Seems like a mistake. I’m a NO on sink skirts. Lived with those when they were not cool many many years ago.

  34. David Owen Creates on February 28, 2023 at 7:33 am

Loved the is video. I’m definitely not loving that last one 😂 I think if I choose one I would go with the cafe curtains – if I had to hide pipes I understand that and having easy access to stuff under the sink but imagine spilling stuff all over that pretty fabric? Just seems like it would be a never ending mess. I would however use that sink skirt in a laundry room where there isn’t much washing dishes with food and stuff – laundry room could be fun?

  35. Columbary House on February 28, 2023 at 7:34 am

    Made in china junk

  36. Lilithanne on February 28, 2023 at 7:34 am

A hard "NO" for the sink skirt. 😆 I can picture someone rinsing their hands at the sink and grabbing the skirt to dry off. But I really loved everything else, especially the mix of modern and vintage. The curved LR furniture looks so warm and cozy.

  37. Traci Morgan on February 28, 2023 at 7:35 am

Great Video Jenna, I think I will skip the cafe curtains, but i do have roman shades that are some up and some down which allows me to have the different views, I think I could do a floral or plaid pattern in the shades tho

  38. Tami Ewert on February 28, 2023 at 7:37 am

I am definitely not a fan of sink skirts! This design was initiated out of necessity to hide unattractive, old plumbing, and we have evolved past this as a design choice!

  39. Hippie Chick on February 28, 2023 at 7:40 am

Hi Jenna ! Thank you for showing how you can incorporate trend’s subtly. Many people don’t want to spend lots of money and make permanent changes to accommodate “trends”. They come and go too fast and are often taken too seriously. I like keeping the foundation of my home style classic and traditional. And no to the cafe curtains. Lol.

  40. Jen Roady on February 28, 2023 at 7:40 am

I personally like cafe curtains, always have, and at the moment I am searching for the perfect curtain for my two smaller kitchen windows. However I am not ready for the sink curtains yet. And as always thank you for the awesome videos 😊

  41. Sheena Pangonis on February 28, 2023 at 7:40 am

I love interior design and learning about new trends. My vibe is California coastal. I love the laid back relaxed and more sophisticated style vs Floridian cheesy. And I live in Fl but don’t want to scream it in my home. I do like the Grandma accents trend. ❤

  42. Heidi’s Home&Style on February 28, 2023 at 7:42 am

Total have cafe curtains in my kitchen/dining area and bathroom. I love them!

  43. Marsha Little on February 28, 2023 at 7:43 am

I was pleasantly surprised that "vintage" is a growing trend. I have my parents’ dining room furniture, which is a beautiful medium oak, a "dry sink" that I think they bought when I was in my teens, a corner cabinet that is very unique and 2 floral chairs that I have in my living room. All of these pieces are beautifully made and have stood the test of time. Also, I do like the cafe curtains. I had them in previous houses, and I loved what they added to my kitchen. Thanks for a great video. Well done as always. I also wanted to add that I do have some dark furniture incorporated with the light, and I think it looks esthetically pleasing.

  44. Pamela Maurer on February 28, 2023 at 7:45 am

I don’t see my self getting into the sink curtains but possibly the cafe curtains for my window over my sink

  45. ThirdEye Cat on February 28, 2023 at 7:46 am

Thanks for the trend update, got say though I’m not into most of these

  46. Helena Andrews on February 28, 2023 at 7:48 am

    Hi Jenna,
Again, thank you for this great video. I think I feel the same way as you with those curtains. Personally, I never like them. Why cover your windows. But, for people who do like them, make sure they choose the right pattern.

  47. AmandaA0107 on February 28, 2023 at 7:49 am

Love all of these ideas/trends! We just did a full kitchen remodel.. we did rift cut white oak cabinets/island, plaster range hood, Spanish inspired backsplash all the way up to the ceiling for a statement focal point with the hood.. we love how it turned out! Now I’m thinking about our bathrooms and I kinda want to go with a darker stained wood for the vanities.. but I’m worried it won’t flow.. any advice?? We live in CA on the central coast and our house is very much a ranch style home and we love that modern Spanish (think Santa Barbara!) style!

  48. Talida Voinea on February 28, 2023 at 7:49 am

No to the sink curtains and dark wood ….

  49. Leanne Hockman on February 28, 2023 at 7:50 am

I don’t mind the Café curtains. The skirt covering for cabinets always reminds me of an old house where the cabinet was damaged or missing, so a curtain was hung to cover what was behind it! I’m not a fan. Keep the doors on .

  50. Nathalie Pelletier on February 28, 2023 at 7:50 am

Just want to let you know that I was watching Evelyn Hernandez and she thinks very highly of you. She loves the way you decorate your space.
