Yea I learned a long time ago if something like ac breaks get your friends and family to call Corp as a pissed customer and watch how fast that shit is fixed.

3:08:00 This is Dan’s story from Game Grumps. They forgot the ‘BUH-SCUUUUSE ME?!’ From the customer, and ‘Bitch, I don’t know your life!’ is a staple for me with close friends.

A part of my job is to hang up posters in the housing buildings and another part of job is to do rounds once quiet hours begin at 11pm. Technically I’m supposed to do this at the exact same time but I prefer to do the posters at like 1-2pm because who wants to hang 54 posters(I’m not kidding) at 11pm at night?

Well, my supervisor hated this for some reason so she would wait until like 10:45 to print off and tell me that there are posters to be hung. I eventually went over her head and now everything has to be printed off and in the basket by 4:15pm when her shift ends. When she text me at 5pm I’m so tempted to just refuses but there’s really no point

Ah yes the minimum wage thingy i had that as well, first it turned out the job isnt what was advertised then he offered a sum below what you would get as unemployment money here. This is a high paying, IT industry job, so I was quite baffled by the audicity.

As anybody in or near the Arctic Circle knows, AWD is just a chance to get all 4 wheels stuck. It’s not a saying that exclusive to Canada, just more prevalent over there.

Store was threatened by racist and sexist old man over us not having rice during the peak of covid. He said that maybe he should bring his gun next time. He was not punished in any way and still goes to the store. He wore a 2 liter sprite bottle that was cut near the bottom on one side and had it held by his hat for a mask.

Freakin Kirby vacuums 🤨. I had gotten one back in like, 2005, and I loved it. They had a thing where you trade in your vac and it goes towards the price. They call a few days after I got the damn thing and say something went wrong with financing and they couldn’t keep to their deal at time of sale. I thanked them and told them they could repo it and deliver me my old vacuum, and we’d call it good. I ended up getting a $1600 vacuum for about $150. They never called again.
Fast forward about 10 years. I, having fell in love with my old (metal) Kirby, get approached to try the newer model, that’s supposed to be lighter. Yeah, cheap ass POS made of crappy plastic that’s riding on the momentum of what was once a good vacuum cleaner is more like it. I didn’t have the damn thing a month before it wouldn’t work. The suction finally gave out after extremely minimal use, and that was usually only on bare floors or cleaning mattresses. Screw Kirby and the tweakers they hire. They over charged us for three months, pulling double payments out and after we bitched them out, we never heard from them again. Only ended up paying about $400 for this POS that’s now completely useless, as it can’t even suck up a dust bunny from a half inch away. Ugh 😑

Late last year, I’d just got my second covid shot, was on the first day of my period (which for me is the most painful and tiring) and was running on about three hours of sleep. It was a quiet day with nothing big going on and there were four other people in the store. When I got tired of standing I asked if I could go home a few hours early and come back another day to make up the hours. I got told no, we were short staffed. I’m still pissed about that.

Dude looking for delivery job saying he has no license and can’t lift – in many countries people are sent by government organizations and need to physically appear on interviews to have their record that they are indeed actively looking for a job to collect some pension, free health care or social help.

When I was attending college classes back in the mid 90s, I worked at the he Farm Fresh in Virginia. For 2 solid years, I was doing well, until we had this power tripping bully named Renee. She was harping on me for an honest mistake, and still gave me grief about, even though I resolved it. Then she would try to brow beating me into staying later. I had a set time to get homework done. Also she called my house (during school hours), demanding that I miss class or I’d get fired. I gave them my notice, and finished my last day. After I got home from my last shift, she called to ask me if I’m coming back to work. Before I had a chance to speak, she yelled "You’re fired!" Renee was typical ignorant trailer trash that went absolutely nowhere. I’m literally seeing the world. I’m not the lowly courtesy clerk anymore.

I worked at McDonald’s and I walked a mile to work every day. It was a rough time because life hit me pretty hard, I was homeless at the time, and I’m $700+ in debt. Not. My. Fault. Family I was staying with before I left screwed me over leaving me to pay about 1.2 k in debt, I paid them what I needed. 4th of July I got a $500 ticket for posesiones of fireworks in city limits because some idiot decided to light a firecracker out the window of the car I was in, it was the last day I had to pay for the ticket. And I got the ticket in a town an hour away from where I worked. I had to walk 2 miles to Walmart just to cash my check that I got that day, and I was at Walmart trying to figure out how to pay online, spent 3 hours doing that. Boss called me to come in by 5 or turn in my uniform, it was 4:30 and I just paid it online after being on the phone for hours with the court. It would have taken me 40 mins to an hour to get to McDonald’s and I had sores on my feet. Let’s stay I didn’t go in for another shift. Ps, I told them I couldn’t come in that day a week in advance and they still fired me.

I worked at getto taco bell for two years. You lived in the getto then this stuff isn’t surprising much but it was my first job so I was hoping for some normal people. I’m not stranger so seeing crazy stuff happen but not on a regular basis. One night a crack head wonders into taco bell asking for our phone to call the cops, he confessed to doing drugs and not paying so they were looking for him, he was scared he was gonna get arrested so he said hel tell the cops they shot him up with drugs and were gonna kill him. Not long after the police came and went a man in a black face mask us seen on camera going into the men’s restroom and leaving with his hand inside his backpack. One of my co Workers saw him in person and said he was holding a gun. On a different time our taco bell got shot and the cashier blabbed on the news about what the guys looked like and not to long after that a group of girls were in the parking lot looking for her, on another side note she was fired cause she made Facebook comments about black people, gay people and insulting comments on a mixed race baby. On a different time two guys came running into the restaurant and though the kitchen and out the back door saying "He’s got a gun!." And we all ducked down for nothing to happen. Cool beans, glad I work wearhouse jobs now.

1:59:07 Why do people think the manager was crazy for writing down her feelings? She’s writing them down, not harming anyone, and going about her day. Maybe that is her way of coping with stress. Would you rather she be stabbing OP or firing OP from the job?

OP even says it was LOCKED IN A FILING CABINET. Clearly not meant to be found! If anything, it is OP’s fault for reading it. People are perfectly entitled to relieve stress in any way that does not hurt others. The manager didn’t hurt OP. OP hurt her. Maybe OP does do stress-inducing things that deserve to be written about.

I don’t understand why OP thinks the things have to be "work related" to be written about as a stress-relief method. OP may be doing a good job or have other useful traits for the work, so the manager overall sees OP as an asset. But the manager can still be annoyed by things, and has every right to find a way to relieve herself of the minor things that stress her out that overall she recognizes do not affect OP’s job performance. That is a GOOD manager, setting personal feelings aside for the sake of retaining value to the business.

Anyone who says this is "crazy" is probably ONE of those really annoying people, and can’t handle the idea of someone recording their bad habits.

The one about the finger being cut and lying about it because they wanted their bonuses…a company my husband used to work for was having someone work after hours and the proper safety protocol wasn’t set up…a guy who was a few weeks away from retirement died, he touched a live wire, someone else tried to save him while blood was coming out of his eyes and mouth, but it was too late. The guys on site that were responsible ignored it while it was happening and acted like it was all the guys fault later, during a mandatory safety meeting afterward. All to get their 30k bonuses. They essentially murdered him for that bonus. I can’t imagine how his wife and kids felt. 😔
There should never, ever be bonuses related to safety incidents. It encourages people to cut corners and lie, not be safer.

Worked at dollar general and the power went out. We’re supposed to wait 5 minutes and then close up (but stay) until it either comes on or the shift is over. People were mad we had to make them leave and couldn’t understand why they couldn’t still purchase their items. There is no way for the computer to take it out of the system, there is no way to open the register or run cards, their is no way to do anything except manually lock the doors. No you can’t just get one thing. You can’t get anything. LEAVE.

Once when I was a middle manager at Big Lots, we had the worst blizzard in 50 years hit our city. I was the closing manager that night. The district manager called an said that we couldn’t close the store early to avoid the storm or we would all be fired for job abandonment. It took me three hours to drive the 0.9 miles to my apartment. I had to bring one of my teenaged employees home with me that night as well because his parents called an said their car was buried and they couldn’t come. I get us to my home and he crashes on my couch and I crash in my room since it’s past 1am. At 4am, my phone wakes me up. It’s my boss. He’s snowed in and lives in a neighboring city and told me that I would have to open the store. This is my day off on top of this. I told him no. He told me to do it or I would be fired. I went down to the end of my driveway and took a picture of the National Guard, sent it to him and said that if he fired me, I would sue him for everything he was worth. He hung up. I lived on the city’s emergency access route because it was adjacent to all city services so it was plowed. But not Big Lots. The governor had sent in the National Guard to help dig people out of their cars when they were stranded on the side of the road and take them to emergency shelters. It was a mess. It took almost 2 weeks to unbury parts of the city. My idiot boss called me hours later to update me as if I gave a frick. He had managed to make it to the plaza where the store was. He proceeded to dig, with a shovel he had brought, a nearly 500 foot long path from the street to the store and then unburied the entrance. He opened the store and made sure to sell a can of cat food and spaghettios to some Karen who actually went there that day. I quit a few weeks later.

Was working a hot day at Sonic (the drink CAPITOL) as a manager, 3 teens walked out at 11 am because my GM said "if you’re gonna be distracted, leave" and it was me, her, and 1 cook for the rest of the day 🙂 begged her to let us close but chain restaurants are terrible. (Work at a homeowned place now, have only 3 reliable coworkers and everything is much better now)

(2:26:44) – Oh my god our department was working from home when this event happened. Our group *_only_* received about 185 emails each from that email chain, and for the next 2 hours the entire gmail system for our company was unusable. My boss was told that one of the main network servers crashed, which then caused 2 of the 3 onsite software licensing servers to also crash, meaning we couldn’t save any of our work (he wasn’t told the cause of the crash though). Later that day IT and a high-level corporate executive sent a mass email stating the importance of _"only including relevant people when sending or responding to emails"_ and to _"avoid sending non-work related messages using company emails"._ A week later we were all sent an email from HR requiring us to take a short online class about this. My coworkers were all equally confused. Had no idea what the hell happened until now.

There was an upcoming snowstorm in PA, and a worker at the subway I worked at called of for that day since they expected the snowstorm to be 1 as bad as they predicted and 2 didn’t have a car anyway. I, being a dumbA 16 y/o kid, volunteered to take the shift. Since I was under age I couldn’t work the whole shift and I would be coming in late, well the day arrives and the snowstorm is more aggressive then expected and PENNDOT shuts the roads down and the news is advising individuals to stay off the roads at all costs, and apparently multiple locations had sent their employees home early so basically no one was out anyway. I call my boss and ask him if he was still expecting me, he was, and I told him the roads were closed. His reply was that I needed to be there or I shouldn’t show up tomorrow. I wasn’t a lazy kid, I even would work on my mandatory breaks at times that were busy. Overall I’d say I was a hard worker and I did things right. I’d follow directions to the T and be as efficient as possible with it. I had made a habit of picking up shifts and then calling out the day prior on 3 different occasions to do high schooler things.

Anyway my father instructs me that the job is not worth my life, I should stay off the road and asked me if I ever had been written up for anything. I told him no, that night he had my file for unemployment online, that Monday I received an email informing me my claim was denied as my employer stated I was employed, and I was sent an updated schedule later that day by my boss. We never spoke of it again. Freak that place and it’s minimum wage BS, lol I love what I do now which is not a sandwich artist!!!

I did the flux capacitor one to my brother. He bought a POS Taurus. He’s always talking about how he works on bikes for the local mc and knew what he’s was doing. I told him his flux capacitor was broken. By coincidence my mom’s boyfriend drives up just then, and he asks what we’re doing. "oh Steve just told me that I need a new flux capacitor can you take me to the store later" mom’s boyfriend is in his fifties. Looks at me smiling like a idiot behind him. Says sure. They come back later and my brother informs me I’m a donkey
