You obviously have many things for which to be thankful, but that beautiful dog (Camper Delventhal) was a true godsend. Splendid journeys !!

  2. Mk2Mike on April 6, 2022 at 6:56 pm

Alabama Hills has turned into a mess. So many spots that were camp spots are no longer a spot. And the spots they do have, people will rope off to claim as theirs… It’s sad. There are still some tucked away hidden spots though.

I think the issue is it’s so accessible by vehicles.

  3. Graham Green on April 6, 2022 at 6:56 pm

I had to do the same thing when I camped at the BLM land north of Joshua Tree, in ten minutes I filled a large kitchen trash bag. It makes me so angry.

Wondering if you have ever seen Seek Discomfort on Youtube? Love the adventures. I talk myself out of doing this all the time…ugh..

  5. Bryce Murrin on April 6, 2022 at 6:57 pm

I always bring extra trash bags so i can pick up what i can

    Wow love this lady

  8. rudedogii on April 6, 2022 at 7:01 pm

Alabama Hills! Yes very trashy. Had to put some shoes on because of all the broken glass and if you go walking out exploring you may see TP, poop, and the smell of urine. How sad is that?

  9. Tim Sexton on April 6, 2022 at 7:03 pm

6:50 Ha, ha. *_Left no crumbs_*

  10. Amy Walker on April 6, 2022 at 7:04 pm

So do you ever get super hot or cold sleeping in the car or do you try to travel where this will not be a problem at the time of season where it’s decent?

  11. Joshua Chavez on April 6, 2022 at 7:04 pm

If you’re around Lone Pine, CA again, there’s an old mining town called Cerro Gordo out there. A guy named Brent Underwood owns the town and is always in need of volunteers! There’s also stunning hikes out there 🙂

  12. eximusic on April 6, 2022 at 7:05 pm

You need an MSR Whisperlite camp stove. Best camping invention ever. (sorry for assuming if you already have one). I love Lone Pine and the Alabama Hills. But my favorite is Big Pine Creek just north on the 395 and up the hill.

The way you narrate about the things you do I mean between 0:00 to 0:17 is just so good to hear you!

  14. gogglestheydonothing on April 6, 2022 at 7:11 pm

Nothing grinds my gears like surface poopers.

Nikki, I agree that all of us need to keep the environment clean, but keep a pair of glove handy to pick up the trash. You never know what you are picking up. Stay safe and hi to Camper!

  18. Alan Stewart on April 6, 2022 at 7:12 pm

I have stumbled upon your channel as one does when you go down the YouTube rabbit hole. The one thing that I have noticed in all your posts is that you seem to be very content in your life on your own. I understand that you have camper the wonder dog with you however the amount of time that you seem to spend by yourself seems to be vast. Do you look to milk the maximum amount of human interaction when shopping for your food/coffee or are you truly happy in your self and your life of semi-seclusion?

  20. Montana Marine on April 6, 2022 at 7:14 pm

This has become a HUGE issue in Montana! People who have moved here from the West Coast are destroying our wild lands with trash and human waste. It’s hard to comprehend how people who claim to respect nature, and frankly become aggressive and hostile towards others over it, turn around and destroy what they claim to love. The typical "do as I say not as I do" mentality. My family has owned and preserved our land since 1870 and it looks today the same as it did then, yet, we have transplants who now think they have the right to tell us how we are supposed to "manage" our own property because they are here now. I don’t understand the mindset of these people or what right they think they have to invade another state and try to change it as soon as they get there. They moved here because it’s perfect, and the first thing they want to do is change it.

  21. Dawn Cornwall on April 6, 2022 at 7:16 pm

    I think it’s time for a larger vehicle. 😋

  22. Johnny Palacios on April 6, 2022 at 7:18 pm

    Nikki,
Your videos are like a breath of fresh air.
I love the fact that you never take yourself too serious.
    You always make me chuckle.
I love the way you prepare your salads. 🤣
You and camper are a perfect pair.

    "Leave no trace ethics"….

Not to sound old but… back in my day… It was just called being a decent person… Sigh… So sad to see.

  24. angelisone on April 6, 2022 at 7:20 pm

Only you, Camper and the camera, why leashed Camper?
And $5.00 for a shower is expensive.

  25. Misc on April 6, 2022 at 7:20 pm

Do you have to keep the dog on a leash?

  26. Mike Hammock on April 6, 2022 at 7:21 pm

Thanks for mentioning leave no trace. Yes, pack in pack out.

  31. Joe Hensley on April 6, 2022 at 7:24 pm

The pandemic has brought out such bad people to the outdoors. Even here in Colorado they just trash everything. Very sad. Hopefully since everything’s open back up this summer the bad people stay away.

  32. Richard Delp on April 6, 2022 at 7:24 pm

Thank you for helping clean up the planet, you’re awesome!

  36. Invisibilian One on April 6, 2022 at 7:26 pm

They have been increasing restrictions on camping in Oregon forests…

  37. Dr. Stephen Heilman on April 6, 2022 at 7:28 pm

You are "Good People" – Where many would just complain about the trash – you actually do something about it and leave the place cleaner than you found it. That just gained you a new subsciber.

  38. Rand Baldwin on April 6, 2022 at 7:29 pm

Do you "skinnyfy" your thumbnails? I notice how very different you are in thumbnails vs how thick in reality. No big, but just be real. You look awesome, so it feels wonky when you edit yourself. Definitely do not make yourself look skinnyer with photo editing.

  39. SargentoDuke on April 6, 2022 at 7:30 pm

The Pryus is the best car for post-apocalyptic world… because lowest consumption and low noise lol

  41. elpredator96 on April 6, 2022 at 7:31 pm

I don’t see anyone asking you the question so I will, how do you deal with the dog farts?, I ask cause I traveled with my dog a Doberman and let me tell you there no joke when the pass gas, what do you do? I know it sounds stupid lol.

  42. Watashi on April 6, 2022 at 7:31 pm

The public lands in California are just as trashed as the cities. The people are even trashy.

  43. Thomas Vickers on April 6, 2022 at 7:32 pm

Hello Nikki & Camper , Where was the place you were at BEFORE, Lonesome Pine 🌲? I am a fan of PACK IN / PACK OUT. It doesn’t hurt to clean up a little bit of someone else’s trash, What hurts is, They were INCONSIDERATE ENOUGH to leave a mess. Happy Trails

  44. Larry Hunter on April 6, 2022 at 7:32 pm

Great video Nikki! Looks like an amazing place. We carry one of those picker up things and I always have rubber gloves. Especially as Canadians using US public lands we like to pick up thrash to say thanks for letting us us them. I wonder if there’s a Stasher bag big enough for your bag salads?

  45. bourdon845 on April 6, 2022 at 7:35 pm

  48. Tumbleweed5150 on April 6, 2022 at 7:43 pm

I showed my girlfriend a few campsites from Lone Pine’s Alabama Hills to the whole Mammoth Lakes area this past few years and we both LOVE the whole area. Planning on heading back that way this summer. We definitely practice the Leave No Trace! 😉 <3 <3
