Making a Breakfast Nook ( With Storage)!
Making a Breakfast Nook ( With Storage)!
In this video I build a simple breakfast nook and kitchen table out of 2×4, plywood, and pine 1×4 from Home Depot. This piece was for a client who chose to finish (stain) the wood on their own. Got questions? Leave them in the comments!

It was very nice. I was a little surprised you didnβt put the hinges on the inside.
Do you take orders for this one? and if yes, how much and where are you located?
the scratching sound makes this impossible to watch
I clicked download plans and it won’t allow me to. How can I get these plans?

nice job. we can add in that table leg small storage area for some liqer bottels. cut one side of box and add a small door π
Turned out really nice, very cool =)
Great build man. Thanks for sharing π
<><
just curious on the trim I thought i heard you say it was 1×4 kinda looks like 1×3 and I didnt see it on the cut list
Table too high for the height of the bench
What was that pin nailer that you used?
Iβm currently trying to build this as we speak. The problem Iβm having with it right now is your video doesnβt exactly match the visual plans. The visual plans make no mention of the cutouts for the storage nor the supports you have inside the frame for these cutouts. The visual plans also appear to have 13β horizontal braces but make no mention of the vertical supports in the middle of the frame that you added when putting on the plywood.
the table is exactly what i’m needing. I have had a banquet seating built. Thank you so much. Mo xx
On the support column , 46 degree table saw rips for tighter miter edge, packaging tape seems to be best option.
Awesome! Thanks for the channel.
Great simple design, that I have been looking for- thanks!
I juat got done building my bench based on this videos design this last weekend. I built mine to wrap around my dining room though (two 72 inch sections connected by a 40 inch section). Hopefully I’ll be able to start the table this weekend.
This is perfect ! My husband and I have been searching for this exact style banquet for our kitchen. Is there a website I can order a build like this ?
I built frame trying to cut in tops is storage bins QUESTION what is measurements of template for cut in ? Please
Good job! Shop is cool af too
How did you βwrapβ it around the baseboards on the back? Or have that baseboards been cut?
Nice but too expensive to do it.
Thanx for sharing. Really good info. Will it work to only make the holes half thru the table if the table is 1.5 inches thick ???
What did this project cost β¦materials and final finished?
I’d love to make a similar bench, but to keep the look minimal I’d like to not trim it out and just have the plywood on the outside. Do you think glue and screws from the inside would be sufficient to hold the plywood, or would you fasten in some other way?
The way you did the doors was a bit of a revelation, thanks!
The stain looks blotchy as fck…..Did you not tell them to use a pre stain sealer before staining? Or you should have recommended a hardwood plywood or veneer. Just my 2 cents Mr. Make Everything
What were the dimensions for the pedestal for the table?
Excellent, thanks!
What state are u in?
Well done, I learned a lot. Thanks
2 questions. What was the hammer trick you used on the corners of the table pillar? And what would be your best recommendation for a way to weigh this table down so that it won’t tip over onto a particularly rambunctious three-year-old?
I wish you weren’t so far! I’d have you make one for me! I don’t have the space to make it

I made a banquette and pedestal table following your design but added a slight slope to the seat and a backrest. Here is the video:

Thanks for sharing your video. I really appreciate the clear and concise directions and production quality of the video.
I use Woodglut plans for all my joinery. Google and try it out.
I’m sure you will find good solutions for all your ideas on the Stodoys website.
Amazing work
I may be doing something just like this. Perfect. Great job.
I have some 1/4" red oak paneling, think that is thick enough to use for the sides (not the bench, i’m going 3/4" for that too)?
Nice build and great result but by far the most impressive thing was the ease with which you hop up on your mahoosive table and then work on it as though itβs the floor πππ». First time Iβve seen that on YT. Thanks for sharing ππ»π»

Hi Chris…Can you tell me what would be a good replacement for the 2 x 4’s since my Home Depot no longer carries the Burrill brand. Thanks so much! Frank
Good grief, your table saw table , no Lol, is bigger than my entire kitchen and dining room foot print. ( Jealous, Lol)
My son has designed something quite similar for my dining room which leaves a nice clean open feel to the dining room and kitchen. In order to achieve this, I have to totally remove a wall shelf unit from the previous owner. In place of the Open shelving, I will make a wall sized pantry.
Your video is very well lit, good audio, good material. My smaller dining room will become my temporary workshop. I really liked the storage inside the seats. This is A huge benefit .. my current dining room table will become the seat tops.
You have done a remarkable job here. Not only have I learned a few things with pin nailing , I can get a good sense how my own table and seats will look when completed. Well Done ,,
You can use Woodglut and plans. The best plans and very detailed instructions. You can learn a lot from them and do it yourself.
Aha! I love your work ‘island’… And how ya clean it lol

Wow, so much detail in making this and it looks incredible at the end. A true art
