Sterling, awesome videography, ride safe, awesome channel…🇦🇺

I never felt like I had to be uncomfortable while camping. Modern equipment makes it easy to have what you need, as long as you’re a bit flexible/adaptable. I will say I’d never consider driving out to the middle of a desert plain and setting up camp. Now that I see it, it makes sense, windstorm notwithstanding. Awesome content as always Sterling. Keep it up, you touch a lot of people.

Great video, I’m really enjoying the series. The meal looked delicious. That tarp is pretty trick, what is the brand and where can I get one?, thanks. I’m looking forward to getting out soon myself. Cheers from Texas.

I just wonder: when you camp out in the open flat country, whats the chance some intoxicated brave takes his vehicle for a high speed ride across that flat expanse exactly where you are resting up for the night… Will you even know what hit you ?

  5. radek79 on March 9, 2023 at 9:30 am

So cool! Question: does the bmw make that ripping through the air sound or is that changed a little in post? It sounds like a friggin’ f16 in those drone shots

  6. Mi Can on March 9, 2023 at 9:31 am

You got Garlic powder in a used tic tac box, thats hilarious.

  7. Beachsketch on March 9, 2023 at 9:31 am

    Inspiring as always

  8. Joel Floyd on March 9, 2023 at 9:33 am

You might consider putting a guy line going the opposite direction from your tarp to pole connection. Im afraid a gust of wind will break your pole.
I spoke too soon it seems. Thats a mighty stout pole good sir

  9. SteveH on March 9, 2023 at 9:33 am

cool. fortuitous that the wind didn’t go the other way and turn your tent into a kite

I’ve burned a few times too! Though I haven’t been to the Playa on a moto trip … yet. A though came to my mind while watching this video after having binged much of your channels content, Sterling and Eva need to write a moto-camping cookbook. I don’t know what the triscuit dish was called but now I am hungry.

Thank you for such relaxing and inspiring videos

  13. HR MacDonald on March 9, 2023 at 9:41 am

Awesome video…loved all the landscapes. I have a camping question…in the area where you camped, are there any animals that concerned you…coyote, big cats, snakes. You are open camping and there’s nothing to keep the critters out.

  14. Knapp Daddy on March 9, 2023 at 9:41 am

Wow Sterling, everything you do is amazing and inspiring !!

  15. Alan Elder on March 9, 2023 at 9:41 am

Monitor Pass — I haven’t seen or traversed that since completing the Markleeville Death Ride by bicycle in 1991 when I wore a younger man’s clothes (33 at the time). I appreciate your attitude about being relatively comfortable on these adventure rides — good food, a chair and table and being resourceful. The monopod really makes sense for so many things and little wind drag. I’ve looked at the Applegate Immigrant Trail from Lovelock, NV to Cedarville, CA as a bucket list ride. Thanks for sharing your inspiring adventure.

  19. Jeffrey Moore on March 9, 2023 at 9:46 am

Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to seeing how you come out in the morning!

No one is laughing at you, we are all envious of your method of travel and camping.

  22. lowriderrjw on March 9, 2023 at 9:48 am

Really enjoying the series so far Sterling. You are becoming a pro with that drone! Amazing how they can enhance the video quality. Looking forward to what’s to come next!

Too cool! Epic to say the least!! Thanks so much! 🤟

Bare handed riding? haha gotta bust your chops a bit now that we know you are a burner!

  28. Zekes Adventures on March 9, 2023 at 9:56 am

Truly epic filming and drone shots! I think it’s easy to be mesmerized by your filming, all while forgetting the enormous amount of effort and skills of the man behind the curtain! Thanks once again for another great episode. Each video is truly inspiring for my own travels (I’m headed to Big Bend on my GSA in a couple weeks!!!).

Really enjoying this series Sterling. Thanks for taking the time and effort to build this video series. Excellent video work as always.

Just an ever more increasing enjoyable watch with each episode in this series. I must say the monopod is a great addition, although I will be surprised if it lasts to the end of the journey. Thanks for the upload.😎🏍⛺👍

Sterling what an absolutely incredible video today fantastic I loved every minute of it especially camping in the middle of the valley, beautiful cocktail, wonder dinner. wow thank you very much for this video.

I maintain as comfortable lifestyle and camp as I can. Life isn’t suffering nor is riding a motorcycle RTW. I grew up in a religion of barely live, suffer, die and go to hell. Life really isn’t about that. Eat well, sleep well and enjoy the ride safely. It all goes hand in hand. I’ve been there before and it’s a tough place when nature turns sour. I’ve seen wind storms, floods, snow storms and beautiful vistas. Some of it all in one day. Figure out a good new ride for this year. It’s crowded and expensive as can be up east and especially across the border. Take care be safe

  35. Marko Marcello on March 9, 2023 at 10:06 am

Wonderful shots. Really eye catching, Sound also, Great great work,,,,

  36. craig cook on March 9, 2023 at 10:06 am

I wonder if the movie Bad Day at Black Rock was named for and or filmed there. It had Spencer Tracy, and Robert Ryan in it

  37. Rob Pinter on March 9, 2023 at 10:07 am

That nomo-pod on the bike is a seriously great idea, love the way that the tarp was set up. Details of the mono pod would be great.

  38. Paul Ølvestad on March 9, 2023 at 10:11 am

I really don’t think anyone is laughing at you and your determination to cook good meals. I’m laughing, at myself, wondering where I went so wrong in my life. The highlight of my days is watching your videos from my desk (that I’m chained to) at the large soulless corporation I work for. If anyone could be laughing it would be the other way around, but you would never do that because you are way to good of a person and you often comment how grateful you are for your opportunity to travel. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos, they really are a “mini escape” for some of us.

  39. James Williams on March 9, 2023 at 10:12 am

You sir are definitely no novice! Thank you for yet another wonderful video.

  40. Scott A. Pederson on March 9, 2023 at 10:13 am

You certainly put the "adventure" into Adventure Motorcycling! Living in Bisbee, I’m sure you’ve experienced a few Haboobs and dust devils – but being out in the middle of the basin with only a tarp to protect you….props to you for your ability to not only survive, but comfortably thrive. #Mojito On another note, I noticed you were sometimes riding without gloves – I assume you need bare hands to control the drone?

  41. Colin Wetherelt on March 9, 2023 at 10:14 am

I’m learning from your video’s – how to better do mine. https://youtu.be/Vm4rPz8ySz0 – is a link to a high intensity moment I enjoyed out of Lewiston Montana on my 4500 mile circle last summer. Thought you might get a kick out of it.

  42. Brian Trickey on March 9, 2023 at 10:15 am

Love your content! During the scene where the truck and trailer were off in the distance I couldn’t think but wonder. Have you thought about using some kind of warning beacon to mark your spot in the event another vehicle is traveling across open flat areas like where you camped at?

  43. King Lear on March 9, 2023 at 10:17 am

Great video. Have frequented the Black Rock over Memorial Day weekend just about every year now going on 16 years. There’s a lot of great riding and interesting sites to check out e.g., High Rock Canyon, Lava Beds, Black Rock Point, Porter Spring, Rabbit Springs, Seven Troughs, the list goes on. Those rides better suited for your Husky. A lot of history too, old mining camps and immigrant trails.

  44. Eric Judish on March 9, 2023 at 10:18 am

Thank you for the advice and examples you share! You are really an inspiration. I was referred to your channel by Forrest at Northbound Motorcycle ADV here on YouTube. You’re his benchmark and I can see why. 👍✌️

  45. Chris Frias on March 9, 2023 at 10:21 am

Hot as balls here. Love it

  47. Gary Droege on March 9, 2023 at 10:21 am

Another excellent video of your adventure on the GS. 🏆

  48. J Rodriguez on March 9, 2023 at 10:23 am

Sterling, not difficult to see how that cocktail was so enjoyable, love the way the tarp/tent set up worked out. I am looking forward to the full details of the ending of that dust storm and how the evening ended up. Can’t wait for the next. Thank you Sir.

  49. Scott Henderson on March 9, 2023 at 10:24 am

Yep freaking elevate it, do it every time I am motorcycle camping., and for me it starts with fine tequila 🤙🏼🇺🇸

Do you keep a light on at night so that vehicles can spot you in the dark ?
