thank you for speaking up but it’s not just people with children it’s also people that don’t have children there’s no phone number or government agency or government help for them type of people.

  3. John Dough on October 7, 2022 at 5:24 am

But it’s the citizens fault because most don’t care. We give them power, yet we’re doing nothing to force them to do better.

  4. Lola Cole on October 7, 2022 at 5:25 am

I too was on welfare. They don’t want you to get off. I couldn’t work a job paying more than minimum because I would be removed immediately from assistance and not make it. When I finally got off welfare and they sent me a bill saying I owed them $2.00 because they paid me that much too much.

  5. j chris on October 7, 2022 at 5:26 am

people should stop having kids before they can afford them and stop going to school and choosing careers that don’t pay well than complain that the careers don’t pay well also be willing to move out of you comfort zone a place like west virginia doesn’t pay than go to where jobs pay

Everything you said was what so many millions of people in this country would say to congress, given the chance. Thank you so much for getting this message out there. It’s way past time for our government to get there heads out of there asses and do something for our people here that need the help. Thank you so much for your words, you will be in my prayers, God bless 🙏😇💛

Sorry folks they don’t care and now we’re in 2022 inflation thanks to Dems so this trend should tell you that the American peasant don’t matter to them period.

  11. Matthew Smith on October 7, 2022 at 5:31 am

Truth is America is a ticking time bomb. Our government is 30 trillion dollars in debt and still spending. We don’t make anything here at home we rely on imports from china mainly for medicines and part for vehicles and everything else under the sun. America is a young country and God made her to prosper in the beginning but we as a nation no longer follow God and The Lord of Creation judges nations now and individual souls later and America will be judged. A world of hurt is coming. To the saved and unsaved alike. Get some chickens, stock up on ramen noodles, or whatever you can,and pray

The Federal Minimum Wage a cruel joke-it doesn’t save employers money as it will only inspire people to do minimum work! What no $500,000 sign on bonus, no endorsement deals, no free agency, no stock options, no pension?

  20. Lowell Lucas Jr. on October 7, 2022 at 5:42 am

You go Ms. Hutchinson!!!!! Speak the Word!

  21. wtf on October 7, 2022 at 5:44 am

Although I agree with you on Federal spending for Congress, you are presenting this case in the wrong place. No place for Federal money going to states for anything like this. You should be at your state and local government meetings. West Virginia gets more money from the Federal government than any other state. I live in NY and we get 68 cents on the dollar back from the Fed. WV is like $1.38 for every dollar.

  24. Larry Manuela on October 7, 2022 at 5:53 am

And now……we MUST STOP asking these people for so-called;’ help,’ they will not change anything!! All over the world everyone knows these people never stand up for the people and really change things…only changes they make are the changes that will have pocket filling for them or that will protect them to get their pockets filled. It is time we stand together and stop this system and create a totally new system where LIFE itself is the value, not money or gold or digits….life itself…and then we give life to all of us, just because we are HERE!! We will mimic what life does all the time, and that is life always ONLY gives 100% of itself to all parts of itself equally and one. No more or less!!

  25. Nor R on October 7, 2022 at 5:53 am

All they do is lie I’m a mother of three and I’m out here working three jobs trying to make it with no child support praying and hoping to God that he will help me to pay all my bills on time sometimes it gets rough can’t get food stamps can’t get Medicaid up with this Covid thing just so it can hit our pockets we have paid them their money back plus farm what are we suffering for and I would never vote for Joe Biden ever again Trump gave away more money than he has ever giving away

  26. Imononeization on October 7, 2022 at 5:55 am

They don’t care. They all work for big business, not the actual people that elect them.

  27. the Chosen Few on October 7, 2022 at 5:55 am

Someone should give that woman a huge raise, a new house, and a Gold Medal!!! I felt the applause of the 46 million Americans she represents!

  30. Eric Garretson on October 7, 2022 at 5:57 am

This is so powerful. Well said and delivered with as much passion as she has for the issue. I would be honored to have her as a representative. We need people like her in congress.

the bad thing about the internet we say all these nice things but yet we don’t participate she’s only one person she can’t speak for all of us we should all put our words into actions and it just upsets me when people applaud her and tell her she’s right but nothing changes no one answers why do we pay so much money to this Congress people what is the purpose I think that’s the problem I don’t think we’re supposed to pay them that much they turn into celebrities and then they become out of touch

  36. Celtsgrace - Katie on October 7, 2022 at 6:04 am

Yes I cried too watching her testimony over and over….but you know what?! As heartbreakingly touching as it is…..it doesn’t matter because I know firsthand how hitting a nerve in people the way I speak doesn’t change them, I am houseless!! it’s not that simple, and the fact that this chairman is condescending with "I think we just heard why we’re here today" but Mr. chairman, what have you done in the 2 years since these hearings to make changes?! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! why do you think that half the congressman chairs up there are empty?! Because half of them don’t want to be there to hear the truth in their face!!

  37. Lea Norau on October 7, 2022 at 6:05 am

As stated POWERFUL, THEY KNOW ALREADY. Coming to them is just entertainment, and a damn thing will, change. Case in point, responding 2 years later. And its gotten worse. More exposure of mismanagement and corruption.. so everyone should work for the government? There, you can do what you want, earn a cushy pay for bs the people, especially if you are on the right side. Smdh this government need to be overthrown.

  38. CatKabs on October 7, 2022 at 6:06 am

Let’s take into consideration the poverty guidelines are based on gross income and not net. In actuality, the majority of people who are right above the guidelines are actually in poverty after taxes which you can’t avoid.

  41. Bodger King on October 7, 2022 at 6:10 am

Mrs Hutchinson, I pray that you see how much support you have. We here in England are in very similar circumstances. The only thing we have is the NHS and we aren’t sure that that isn’t going to be done away with in the next couple of years. God bless you. You delivered that to perfection. I pray that the world hears your message Thank you and God bless you again. ❤❤❤

Stop voting and giving these guys a job that pays that much. You all vote for this. Stop it. You will never win or get what you want. It is common sense people. Democracy is not set up for you to win or have a good life

This is heartbreaking and I’m at the pantry right now. I have to move because my house I lived in for years was sold. I can’t find anything I can afford or qualify for because You have to make 3 times the rent and no job is paying that Indiana. I have been in corporate America for over 20 years, 8 years of college and just got offered 15 an hour in my last job interview. All they did was clap at this meeting. Nothing has changed. It has gotten worse. Pay attention at the polls when you vote because your life depends on it.

I am from Oklahoma in 2014 my husband left me and took our children this is a decision that we are made together our marriage had failed because of my depression and suicide attempts so I thought it would be best if he took the children so that I could try to get the help that I needed which I did not do instead my mind snapped and I found myself leaving and becoming homeless I was homeless until 2020 when I finally checked into a homeless shelter for a year and got the help I needed and the eventually into a transitional home when I moved into the transitional home I was on food stamps because I was homeless and I had no income but the minute that I did get a job I had to report it therefore losing all my snap benefits I only made $8.23 an hour and the rent that I had was $500 a month. Which after taxes left with just around $1200 a month bring home. So after rent I had about $800 left over with the cost of groceries now brings it down to $560 don’t forget this is for a whole month. And to top it all off I was still having to pay child support. I had four kids so that meant I would pay about $423 a month in child support I also had back child support to pay as well. This left me with just over $100 to put towards things such as clothes toiletries household supplies etc. Not leaving any to put towards savings for emergencies or to eventually get my own place or to get my drivers license back or even a vehicle after that, you can do the math. So the rich wonder why there are so many homeless people wandering the streets being eyesores and I will tell you why, because we can’t afford not to be.

40,000 thousand dollars for Furniture that’s messed up. Show greed is through the roof!! We have loose money to give but they put it towards furniture and bs. No wonder why this country is falling apart

  50. ddale20 on October 7, 2022 at 6:22 am

The government is the reason why things are so expensive! They tax, tax, then they tax some more. This kills capitalism and retard the growth of the poor. Government cannot end poverty. They have to move out of the way. Period!
