My first winter snow storm living in a van ❄️ (this was a lot)

In this week of solo female van life, Finn & I saw our first snowstorm of the year, up in the mountains near Provo, Utah. . It was a lot, to say the least.

I’m Mariah Alice, and I live the “solo female van life” with my dog, Finn. We’ve been on the road full time since June of 2020, and although our road has been met with what feels like a zillion ups and downs, we’ve finally gotten to the point where living in a van feels like home. Sometimes we’re alone in the woods, sometimes we’re alone in a desert, sometimes we’re chasing snow or thunderstorms, sometimes we’re trying to see all 50 states, and sometimes we’re making weekly videos here on Youtube talking about our feelings, anxiety, loneliness, seasonal extreme sadness….. yeah. I don’t know what I’m doing with my life. And that’s okay. I think 🙂

Do you always travel by your self?

  6. Josh Carney on November 10, 2022 at 8:17 am

A friend of mine and his wife bought one and modified it the way they wanted it. They even put an awning and a swing out tv. They absolutely love theirs. And it’s actually an affordable option. If you buy an rv camper you still need an 80 grand truck to tow it. And you can start with less options and build it as you can afford it.

Wow $10k worth of batteries! That’s twice as much as my truck camper cost.

  9. Mark Whitman on November 10, 2022 at 8:19 am

I wanna go camping with you for one week. That’s on my bucket list. Could you help a brother out.

Looks like a nice van. But of course it won’t go where your Ford will, but the living accommodations are certainly up-town !

  13. Be mentally there 100percent vacation. on November 10, 2022 at 8:21 am

How you look like a pretty city girl in the woods? You look like maybelle

  14. Doug Smith on November 10, 2022 at 8:24 am

I think a van best suited (to your needs. Looks really heavy though, all those batteries, maybe I’m a minimalist. My Escape 19 (similar to Casita) fits my needs perfectly.

Ms. Dr. Hannah Straight, you are one wild and crazy gal. It’s why we all love ya. This was a fun video to watch.

Those red yoga pants and blue bikini are exquisite! Seriously you are beautiful Dr. !

Thank you so much for the feedback and hope you like the layout of this van as much as I do, being in this space really gives me more time to work efficiently – in a setup like this the space is very functional and I honestly think I could get even more adventures and content out which is really exciting to me! Interested in hearing your thoughts and what you’ve tried and like more! Much love!! xoxo

So I have experience in driving these sprinter vans, as well as the Ford and Dodge vans with similar body styles. The Dodge has the best acceleration. The thing you want to test is it’s ability to climb up steep hills. The sprinters I’ve driven are like mountain goats in their ability to climb quickly, but it wasn’t equipped like yours is. So is there a cover for the front windshield for privacy and to keep frost or snow building up overnight. Oh, one other thing to consider is just like that behemoth overland conveyance you had borrowed for the zombie apocalypse is what the cost for maintenance. Oh I didn’t see a wench in the front, which is handy to have. Can you have your bike rack on the rear and still open your rear doors? Are there skid plates underneath carriage? I feel this is a better choice for you and your travels. Yes it’s ideal to move from one location to another without having to pup up and take down the camper constantly, which become tedious over time. Which I’m sure you’re well aware of first hand. And you won’t have to deal with snow build up to enter your sleeping and cooking area. Oh, doesn’t it have dual rear ended tires, or a single tire on each side? I can just imagine what a rig that that one will go for. The ones I drove new cost 64+ Gs. And that’s not with the conversation gear that one has. It’s impressive the design for an all functional living space. I give credit to the hippies from the late 60s who started the creation of mobile living lifestyle. But it probably has its origins with the Gypsy community in Europe who drove over land Bering Strait land bridge, or the land bridge across the North Atlantic Ocean way back in time. Oh one more thing. Those scenic vistas you stopped at were only enhanced with you standing in front wearing a bikini! But how are you not freezing your toes off. I noticed you had changed into your leggings. Not sure of your geographic location, but the rain we finally got here is probably headed towards your neck of the woods. Safe travels. Oh, you didn’t demonstrate what it’s like to eat a meal in that transport. Was that not allowed? So is there a time table you have in deciding to change your road residence?

How do I block this nonsense 😒
Real HCP are in the front lines this useless Kyfe is an embarrassment

  22. J W on November 10, 2022 at 8:33 am

Alot of options. Van definitely has more space. However, the F250 will get places the sprinter cant.

  23. J M on November 10, 2022 at 8:34 am

I need to know something right now when are you going to clarify the big foot Encounter/sighting!😂

  24. frankie 68 on November 10, 2022 at 8:36 am

    Very impressive Van

  25. Dan Swanson on November 10, 2022 at 8:40 am

There’s a lot you can do to improve the offroad ability of the sprinter – lift/suspension mods, better tire, skid plates, ARB lockers, bumpers, winches, etc. There are lots of youtubers out there doing it (Living the Van Life for example). Your F250 with mods is probably more capable than you’ll ever get with a sprinter but you may be able to get good enough with the sprinter for your needs. My biggest complaint with the sprinter as a camper is the rattles on washboard roads coming from gear stowed in the van. You never hear the rattles when it’s stored in a separate space like a truck camper.

Nice Camper-Van but i would prefer a RENAULT Master E-Tech Electric 🙂 Greetings from Styria 🇦🇹

Please don’t get mad at me.

  28. Robert Parker on November 10, 2022 at 8:44 am

Dr. Hannah you are funny and I enjoy watching your videos.

  29. Allen Hare on November 10, 2022 at 8:46 am

I really like these Sprinter Van conversions.
Still and all, the functionality of a truck and a towable camper really appeals to me.
With these Sprinter vans, if you need to go to the nearest grocery store, you need to drive your house there.
Your truck camper with a little trailer for the Yamaha is the perfect combination.
    Happy Camping!

  30. Kriss Olson on November 10, 2022 at 8:47 am

Even if you weren’t stunning I’d still watch because you’re funny and provide great info. This van is super cool.

You should hook up with Taylor’s Adventures channel and go on her sail boat. And team up with her.
    Just a suggestion.

Hi Hannah, loved this Van review, sure looks like the ones I saw in Tahoe a couple of months back. We decided the Van way was the one for us for the very same reasons you called out if your review. I love going from driving to camping with the spin of chair and couple of steps… can’t wait to see some of the adventures you have been on with this Sprinter Van
