Home to self taught interior designer Daphney Ho, this 48sqm apartment’s diamond-shaped layout has been expertly maximized with sliding doors through-out; alongside arches and curves that soften its irregular shape. The living area has been raised on a wooden platform and features a custom made sofa with built in storage. A shoe cabinet, cleverly angled away from the wall, forms the back of the sofa whilst providing extra storage at the entrance. To maximize the dining space, Ho opted for a round dining table and curved booth seating that fit neatly into the corner of the room. An arched doorway leads to the apartment’s two bedrooms, where their sliding doors are concealed as fluted wall panels. The main bedroom was designed to fit a king sized bed, while the second contains no fixed furniture and functions as a multi-use space and dressing room, purposefully designed to be flexible in future, and change as the needs of its owners do.

Can you share the contact for the construction/renovation contractor you used? It’s near impossible to find a suitable contractor in Hong Kong

The living space is amazing but the bedroom/bathroom area is not user friendly at all. Frosted glass for the toilet? no door between the bathroom and living room? having to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom? these are all terrible ideas. what if they have guests come over? you don’t want to get out of the shower in full view of your inlaws.

It will be cool if here in Japan, we can renovate the interior.. but no, even nails on the walls are not allowed 😢😂

  18. Jael Penn on July 3, 2023 at 3:26 pm

If you taught yourself how to design and decorate, then you are already a master interior designer and decorator. I love your space, and I can’t believe it is only 500 square feet. Your place is beautiful, functional, and open. I love it!

  22. Soulstice on July 3, 2023 at 3:36 pm

Okay i think this is one of my top fave NTS videos!! This lady did a fantastic job of maximising every nook and corner without it looking awkward, like another user said. Plus it is overall SO well executed. Extremely talented and puts many formally educated designers to shame!

  23. Kitty de Leo on July 3, 2023 at 3:37 pm

  41. Luísa Reis on July 3, 2023 at 3:52 pm

it’s one of the best I’ve seen here in the channel! in love with how huge, calming, functional it became

  42. maria victoria salita on July 3, 2023 at 3:53 pm

I love the color palette! It made the space bigger than it is and it’s simply perfect when the weather is sweltering, it can repel the heat coming from outside. When the weather is cold and drizzly, the color scheme can livem and energize the mood and vibe of the area as if it’s bathing in never ending funshine and sunshine in the midst of a stormy weather or the dead of winter.

three ads is wild for a 9 minute video lol

  50. Jule N on July 3, 2023 at 4:03 pm

This is absolutely stunning! I love, love, love the slatted sliding doors and the colour and materials used. The only thing I don’t like is the cornerbooth seating for the dining table but this only because I’m German where this used be very common and thus seems very old school and cramped to me.
