Old School Mama Shop Inspired Home meets Modern Eclectic Interior Design
Old School Mama Shop Inspired Home meets Modern Eclectic Interior Design
When two contrasting styles come together, the end result might be a make or break. And so, it was quite a challenge when homeowners aspire to meld elements of both tradition and modernity into a singular space!
Procuring the signature scissors gate that is iconic of the 1960s, it is seamlessly paired with the more modern island made of Italian marble.
The juxtaposition of styles across the entire home is definitely what makes this home so unique and memorable!

Interestin how I see the mix between modern and traditional design, especially that steel gate. Reminding me old chinese apartment.
Hi I like to know where to get the metal shelving unit in the study room pls? thx
Rounded corner to be child friendly, turn around and there’s a whole bicycle hanging on the pole. 🤣
I appreciate that you show houses that aren’t just Muji or hotel inspired etc. I enjoy seeing themed houses which bring new ideas.
Appreciate the pros and cons on choosing different materials, and costing too. That gate looks great but can imagine the dusting challenge.
What purpose does the scissor gate serve? Look better without it
Wow, this home design is so cool!!!
Looks cheap and gross
The scissor gate is definitely the star of the show. But fusion is a mixed feeling, I guess one must do an all-out 60s design to feel the vibe. The kopitiam marble round table and wooden chairs missing here is quite an overlook.
so many beams, aint they bad for fengshui? Otherwise, the whole look of the home is pretty good.
I have my own 1 bedroom apartment here in the uk. 11 years next year. One item I noticed is the slow closing ‘Hinge’ on the main door into the apartment. The times the main door to our apartment and my neighbours doors have closed with a bang! Such small details make such a difference.
Overall very good effort but slightly Too many mix and match
Reminds me of Tiong Bahru kopitiam
Great to mention on the marble top and scissor gate’s cost, extremely helpful! Thank you for sharing this great video!

May I know the interior design company that did this renovation ?
house is so versatile with the multifold door one way to make your house look larger and spacious
Alot of going on in this house..
IDK bout this. Themed homes in general I feel not so practical in long term. But you do you hahha
Dude mild steel rusts. No diff
Not air-lectic but Eee-cletic
Alamak look like sinpopo bar
Nice!
The bathroom’s Peranakan style wall tiles are so pretty 👍
rounded corners to make it child-friendly, decor it with scissors gate to cut their fingers off
