Old School Mama Shop Inspired Home meets Modern Eclectic Interior Design

Old School Mama Shop Inspired Home meets Modern Eclectic Interior Design

When two contrasting styles come together, the end result might be a make or break. And so, it was quite a challenge when homeowners aspire to meld elements of both tradition and modernity into a singular space!

Procuring the signature scissors gate that is iconic of the 1960s, it is seamlessly paired with the more modern island made of Italian marble.

The juxtaposition of styles across the entire home is definitely what makes this home so unique and memorable!

I appreciate that you show houses that aren’t just Muji or hotel inspired etc. I enjoy seeing themed houses which bring new ideas.

Appreciate the pros and cons on choosing different materials, and costing too. That gate looks great but can imagine the dusting challenge.

The scissor gate is definitely the star of the show. But fusion is a mixed feeling, I guess one must do an all-out 60s design to feel the vibe. The kopitiam marble round table and wooden chairs missing here is quite an overlook.

so many beams, aint they bad for fengshui? Otherwise, the whole look of the home is pretty good.

I have my own 1 bedroom apartment here in the uk. 11 years next year. One item I noticed is the slow closing ‘Hinge’ on the main door into the apartment. The times the main door to our apartment and my neighbours doors have closed with a bang! Such small details make such a difference.
