Out of this World Adventure in Trona Pinnacles and Alabama Hills
On this TrailRecon adventure my son Jordan and I hit the dirt in Trona Pinnacles, an out of this world looking location, with the intention of camping right in the middle of it. But our adventurous spirit gets the best of us and we end up exploring until we are more than 100 miles away in Alabama Hills by the end of the day. Join us as we journey into one of the most stunning and otherworldly places in California for one of the most epic off-road trips we’ve done in a long time, enjoy some quality father-son time at camp, and give you a tour of the huge new modification we’ve made to Jordan’s Toyota Tacoma.

26:50 Four Wheel Camper Project M Review
Fabulous share! Might you be able to list the tires you are both using, their on-road psi level, and what psi you air down to for these types of back-country trips? Many Thanks! Safe Travels!
Love your videos. Great content..
Awesome video once again!.
As a Tacoma owner and as a tall person (6"10") I’m enjoying watching Jordan and his Toyota build.
Wow the titles are for a really different video.
17:04 Were your lockers not working or you just didn’t bother turning them on?
Videos keep getting better guys keep it up!
whose out here just leaving maxtraxx laying around lol
Love these longer videos and the father / son love is real.
Really glad you did this video. I’ve been considering the Project M for a Colorado. I’ll have to stay tuned to see what your overall thoughts are. It looks a bit bulkier than I thought. On the MPG I suspected a decrease. Weight and MPG its all a tradeoff.
Loved the video you and your son put together. I agree with your son keep the camper module. I know weight will be factored in on the build. Well done guys !
Epic north camping spot 👍👍
Good times!! I’m loving these videos. Definitely looking forward to some overland runs with camping!
My son and I took to the trails today at Tuttle Creek Off-road Area near Randolph, Kansas, which is near Manhattan, Kansas. This area holds a variety of off-road adventures: rocky trails, loose gravel, rock crawling, and even mud if you choose to do so.
Contrary to popular belief, not all of Kansas is flat!
This area of our state has wooded hills, which makes for some great off-road fun.
If anyone decides to give it a try, let me know.
Love this camper on Jordan’s rig. Been eyeing these…but doesn’t work on a jk unfortunately lol
What size bed does the Tacoma have?
So jealous of what you have in America in the U.K. we just don’t have the trails and not allowed to wildcamp
12:00 A surprise visitor … the sound of freedom … 😄
That camper is awesome, I want to get one. As soon as I saw it, I thought "I bet Brad would have wanted one on his Gladiator if he still had it."
The bedrug makes sense now. America has a lot of magical places on a grand scale. Thanks for sharing these great videos guys. 👌
Brad the next time you go from the trona Pinnacles to Lone Pine try driving through Panamint Valley, through Panamint springs. Much more scenic.
Jordan finally got his Project M camper, I love seeing you wheelin’ it with the camper to test its capabilities. Excited to see your route on your future interior build.
😎👍
Génial ! Comme toujours ✌️
This was great, thank you 👏👏
The offroad gods know I’ve spent way too much myself on "Adventure Gear". As a long time overlander I am still amazed at how much money people spend on gear and how much time and energy is invested before an experience. I just want to say that a good time can be had with a great attitude, a sense of adventure and fewer gadgets. I enjoy watching these productions and am inspired by them, I just feel that we need to remind ourselves that great adventures are accessible without the high pricetag. Just go, already!
Tremendous video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
Brad with the Toyota burn! gasp! lol how dare you?!
Brad and Jordan, Thank you for taking us along on the maiden voyage with your new Project M Four Wheel Camper! What an amazing option, available now. Beautiful scenery and time spent together, Dad and son. Happy belated birthday also Brad! V.
Ok I went looking for the video where he went over the Camper, and then you said you guys would go over his new addition.
I thought I had missed a video. Phew 😮💨
I hear a lot of we when your dad talks I think he is more excited then anyone
Where is Marco??
These are the types of adventures I’m looking forward to with my boys. Being out East we have much less public areas though. Great videos. The more I watch, the more I’m hooked.
I know that spot in Alabama Hills!! indeed a good camping spot. We had a group of 7 vehicles up there. 😉 Also, that camper is so cool! I hope my 1 year old son is into this stuff when he is a young man so that we can do these trips together. Love to see this father son content.
I really like those campers until i saw the price of them. I was genuinely interested when i found out about those a year ago. Then i found out that the cheapest one they sell with not a single add on was 11k. Then they dont even give you the full kit to put it in. Its a additional 800 dollars just to put it in your truck. I bet they are nice. But that is a ridiculous price for a camper shell without a single add on. Anyways thats my rant. Enjoy the fun.
That’s too funny. I just got to Trona Pinnacles last night , I’m commenting from camp somewhere in the hills nearby Trona. Still have service here somehow!
I’ll give that Tacoma a chance just because it is your son I love jeeps
Great cinematography brad
Yeassssss! This channel is really coming together as an automotive channel and not just a Jeep channel
OK, who else skipped the "build" segment and watched it before watching the entire trip? Thank you for your great content Jordan and Brad.
Loved this father son adventure. You’ve inspired me to do the same! Do you ever do meet ups for trail runs with local guys?
You can see "pinnacle" like those at Trona actively forming _in_ Mono Lake, while stable pinnacles (or tufa columns) dot the area along the shore and valley around the lake. The columns/pinnacles form under water, as fresh water springs discharge into an alkaline body of water. In Mono Lake, you find pools of fresh water floating on the surface of the saline lake water.
Jordan – heavier skid pads. OUCH!
Does your son have a channel I can also follow? I’d like to see how the camper progresses and what he does with it.
That’s a nice spot! I have been to alabama hills a couple times and have never seen that area.or at least doesn’t seem familiar…lol. would you mind telling where that spot is?
Great video, reminds me of Endless Summer the first adventure film I ever saw which helped form my whole lifestyle, or On any Sunday about motorcycle lifestyle, and the whole Warren Miller collection about skiing…..I love living the adventure lifestyle when ever I can …biking, skiing, hitting the wilderness when ever we want ….thanks
I enjoyed the video and thank you for sharing it. I’m going there next week and wonder how the weather was like for you guys. Did you or Jordan have to air down?
great video! I love the camper on the taco. I wanted one when I had my Ranger. How did it affect Gas mileage and highway windage? I assume it was pretty negligible since he said he couldn’t really feel it.
Several months that’s to long!
Loving the Tacoma build!
I always forget, is Jordan one of the twins or the eldest or the youngest.
Congrats Jordan. I love the excitement of playing with new gear and building out your stuff. Enjoy!!
