SECOND LARGEST KOA RESORT RV CAMPGROUND IN THE US. IT'S HUGE!!

SECOND LARGEST KOA RESORT RV CAMPGROUND IN THE US. IT'S HUGE!!

Guess which KOA RV Campground is the 2nd largest in America & Canada? AND it’s situated in the Black Hills National Forest of South Dakota.

Have you guessed yet? It’s near Mount Rushmore National Monument! We’ve actually been traveling to this KOA at Palmer Gulch for several years now. It’s a favorite for everyone because you can stay in the lodge (think like a hotel), bunk up in a cabin, use a full hook up RV site or snag a tent site. This KOA resort has something for everyone! Definitely an RV life favorite.

The hub KOA in Billings is now adding a $8 recreation resort fee to their already pricey $70 with no sewer spaces. They need to ask the failing Las Vegas hotels how that’s working out for them, now. I have stayed in many and hate to see the greed, ruin a good thing.

Hi..I am planning my first time RV trip with my family during Christmas time. We are in Houston so we are looking to see some snow and ski ⛷️… Any recommendations close to Colorado or any other location? I am thinking o a RV Trailer to be delivered to the camp.

    Thanks all ..

Hello! Me and my family love going on camping trips with our 40 foot RV, and we have been to over 22 states so far…We have been to the very first koa ever made in the us, and largest, the one in this video, and even the highest in elevation which is the Cripple Creek koa at over 10,000 feet in elevation…It really is a fun thing to do! We’ve been to lots of other amazing tourist attractions such as Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, and the Grand Ole Opry…

Sadly we were only able to drive through the Black Hills, but hope to get back soon and actually spend a solid chunk of time exploring. Will definitely check out this resort! I’m sold as long as there are water slides!! Mount Rushmore KOA looks so fun!

  22. Prin Cess on August 4, 2022 at 4:16 am

We were highly disappointed with this Koa. It was packed, and everything was poorly maintained. Gross pools, peeling paint and splinters on all tables, seats, cabins. Pretty broken down when we stayed In August. Will not be going back 😔
Btw I love your family RV videos, and we have that shirt, My kids go to RCS as well 😊

Wow that is indeed a large place right there. We have stayed at many KOA’s, they need larger spaces but other than that they are pretty solid. ~Bradley

  43. John Jackson on August 4, 2022 at 4:43 am

Well hello there. I love you channel and yes I’ve subscribed. I’ve never been RVing but I’ve ALWAYS wanted to. I’ve been doing a ton of research (still not sure what a KOA is). Seems like the more I know the more questions I have. I wanted a class A then I thought a 5th wheel would be better in case my RV broke down. Recently I saw a few videos on a Super Class C and I’m sold. As a person of color, are there places I should avoid? I’m sad to even have to ask that question. Also, do all campers inevitably host mice? Yuck 😁

  45. Hallie Stephen-Castro on August 4, 2022 at 4:45 am

Palmer’s Gulch- We really had such high expectations but we did not enjoy it at all. This was summer 2018- staffing at campground was an issue. Some things were closed or the wait time was awful. The walk to the bathrooms from tour cabin was treacherous (especially when you have to pee in the middle of the night). The "all you can eat pancake breakfast" ran out of pancakes by 8 am. The horses looked miserable. It was so crowded and just not a great experience. We went to Custer KOA summer 2021 and had an amazing time. Smaller campground (and much more reasonable cost). Not as many "frills" but we had an amazing time and our experience was all around so much better.
