You’re funny! π€£ I have a unicorn π¦ too but I didn’t name her.
Wow nice van i love driving watching from philippines
Anyone else have the experience where you wake up early only to find that the cars in front and behind you are literally touching your bumpers and your stuck there until one of them moves? Happened to me recently and now I’m so hesitant to street park. π₯΄π₯΄
not easy
Every single one of these sounded like a βyouβ problem… ignore it or move…
Would you consider moving to a different city…as a base? ππππ
Shelter Island?
This would be my breaking point living in a van. I just couldn’t be moving around at night like that. I’d be so uneasy, I’d never get good sleep. I’d be sleeping during the day too. Very stressful and tiring. I wish you well, and good and easy places to rest from now on.
Couldnβt hear you at first
If one talks to oneβs self does that make one a good listener?? π
Youβre a legend π this stuff is not easy
Get a book and put where you park in each city
I had heard that the city is fine with van dwellers as long as you’re respectful and clean up after yourself (yes well aware there are those out there ruining for the rest of you)
Could you have parked at the garage that was doing the work on your van?
Perhaps you could shut YOUR window if his coughing is bothering you so bad. I have coughing fits every morning thanks to respiratory issues & humid weather is horrible for me in the mornings. Drs havenβt been helpful in my 30 years of trying to find one to help me. I deal with it the best way I know how but Iβm sure youβd be complaining about me Iβd I were next to you yet itβs nothing I can control. Bashing people for medical issues isnβt very kind. Perhaps offer some help but complaining on YouTube is a bit ridiculous. You chose to live next to people in their cars too, so a bit of understanding would be nice. And my goodness stop complaining about people smoking pot where itβs legal. If you donβt want to smell it, YOU can move. Ugh all the griping & complaining by everyone these daysβ¦.I just canβt even with everyoneβs entitlement.
In San Diego there’s casinos in the park there there’s camping spots around
I go to San Diego quite often. Not only can you not park between 2-4AM in public lots, but during the summer you cannot have a dog in many parks between 9AM and 4PM (I think its 4PM). I understand the no parking at night, but no dogs during the day. At Mission Bay Park there are many RV’s and vans and I wonder where do they all go at 2AM???
I can only hear about 1 in 3 words.
The cost of housing these days is tremendous! The majority of homes on the market a just far fetched pricing. I reside in the Midwest there is this community that shut the DMV because nobody would pay their property taxes in the whole town.
San Diego is tough !
Theres a parking lot for car dwellers thatβs near the old San Diego Charger Stadium ποΈ
Never parking close to the ocean because you never know who’s coming in pushing you inside when you sleep in droe ππ
California livingβ¦ β€
Thank you so much for showing the struggle to find a place to park! β€οΈ Very few people show this on their channels. So when I first started out, and I had a hard time finding places to park, I thought I was failing! I thought I was doing something wrong. But I wasn’t. This is just the reality of van life. Newbies and people thinking about getting a van need to know these things. Thanks for keeping it real and honest in all your vids. I really appreciate you!
This by far is my favorite episode of hers.
Great video!
You can park down at the dock on Shelter Island. Make a left at the roundabout and there is tons of parking. Overnight parking is allowed. Do not park in the carpark opposite Ruperts as overnight parking is technically illegal but people park anyhow.
It’s touch and go up here in Northern Cali when it comes to parking and sleeping..some cities encourage it while others shun you away.
No matter where I park people will park next to me. I can be a whole 100 vacant spaces in a parking lot. BUT NO it’s like really! Why? When there’s so many spaces. Every day LOL π π π So I can relate to what you’re saying. I like being alone & not bothering others and respecting their privacy and space.
Really sad that Americans are struggling on the street in some of the richest cities
Pacific Beach is hard enough to find parking anyway, let alone in a van, at night! Glad you found something!
God bless you that you can do this, because I know that I just wouldnβt be able to unless there was just no other choice in my life. Van life looks fun to me when people are traveling in wide open spaces, like in Wyoming or rural Virginia or whatever, but stealth car camping in a city or fairly large town seems stressful to me. I do enjoy watching your channel & I wish you all the best in your adventures & to be safe always!β€οΈπππππ§‘π«Άπ»
Wonder what your thoughts are as a Christian on this new girl that is blowing up on YouTube. Lives in Cali and went on here posting about how sheβs homeless and lives in her car. Super attractive, supposedly has all this prior drama, and hates her job. Real βpoor meβ vibe. Then 3 weeks later, quits the job and shopping for Mercedes with all the donations sheβs got. She has 80k subs in less than a month and last look was getting nearly $700/month in Patreon, and God knows how much people have given her on Cash app that sheβs Mercedes shopping. I feel like sheβs scamming good people. I hope not. Oh yeah today felt the need to post about how sheβs not dating so stop asking her out! Is that necessary?
Yep in CA u sleep on sidewalk is preferred instead of sleep I. Ur vehicle. F stupid laws.
That’s probably what he was thinking too !
One of the best advice I heard about a guy who lived in his van, was he put business handyman repair service signs on his front doors, he would park in a business lot nobody payed his van no mind, ( cops and everyone else figured he was there for business) but of course no lights on at night after 10 pm he went to sleep
Been there done that. Sadly, driving around a promaster, I think I spent like 8 bucks in gas every night trying to find the right spot, and even when finding the right spot, I’m still a bit paranoid I’m gonna get a knock and makes it hard to sleep. I’d live the 2~4 sign. That would mean, you set your alarm clock at 2AM, then come back at 4:30. lol. Perfect … I always set my alarm clock at 5AM anyway, and get the heck out of there to go find a daytime spot to park and nap. π Once I did get a knock, I parked with like 50 other vans, that I thought, hey, if they are all here, must be ok, not… cops knocked on EVERYONE’s door at 1AM and said gotta move. Fun times. I guess 8 bucks in gas beats 100 dollar hotel room. too bad hotels didn’t just charge 10 bucks to park in the parking lot. I’d do it! π
City donβt want people to live in public places. I certainly donβt that in my neighborhood
No worries I wonβt be using up a parking spot in San Diego. I donβt go where van dwellers are not welcome. Plenty of places in the country that appreciate my tourist dollars.
What happened if any cop catch you sleeping in your car π ? if he’s a nice cop you explain the situation but if not good cop probably asking move , correct Allyson
Hey snacky if your ever in the Los Angeles area and need a hot shower and a place to park and crash you’re welcome here at our house ! And believe me you are safe here !!!!! No one messes with my families home !!!!!!!
Park in apt parking lots
Just found your channel, so maybe you’ve covered this, or maybe you had an appointment, but why did you wait so late to go looking for a spot? I’ve heard "arrive late and leave early" when trying to "stealth camp" <—as if there’s such a thing, but if you stayed in the van, is there a reason you couldn’t arrive early evening? I’m not hitting the road until later this fall, so I’m just super curious. Thanks!
I’m sure you know this but if you don’t, you can always park at Cracker Barrel or a truck stop. If there are any nearby.
πππ
Omg! Ur hilarious π€£
YOU CHOSE THIS LIFESTYLE
Yeah β¦ this among other major cons made the final decision for me β¦ being a bit older and single and becoming βaccustomedβ to certain comforts like .. a real bathroom and access to it 24/7 lol and security and parking and the amount of all me time in nowhere β¦ sounds/appears exciting on SM β¦ but everyday all day β¦. No way but I love it for you for now XOXOOX
for the life of me I can’t understand what the problem is about sleeping in your vehicle! enough that they make laws against it! Driving back from florida with my gf and her son, I made it PA BUT was too tired to safely carry on so I pulled off and parked in a mall parking lot. What are we supposed to do? continue driving until we have a crash? ridiculous!
I never wait til dark to look for a spot to sleep… never. Why stress yourself.. you have all day to look.
Find a 24 hour store around that area you would probably be better in Downtown San Diego or the southbay area of San Diego.
