I had a rat problem in crawl space , i found a gap around a gas line from outside in the cement . I used mesh and foam to fill … is this ok?

  2. DenTadz on August 24, 2022 at 2:42 am

I have problems with my spray foam that it’ll shrink in just a few days and the gaps are visible. What maybe the reason behind it?

  3. Baji Mantis on August 24, 2022 at 2:45 am

I know this sounds silly but i wonder if any old home owners did the following – drilled a few holes in the old paneling (interior) and then spay the foam into the hole using the can with a straw. This would be due to poor insulation. I’m guessing the foam would not expand enough.

    Super helpful, thanks!

Great video. It pains me to see how much half-assery goes into so many home repairs, and I’m grateful for you pointing it out

What spray foam works around hot copper heating pipes to plug the wall holes around the pipe???

  8. Nathan Nagy on August 24, 2022 at 2:50 am

What would you recommend for a finished basement ceiling? Their is a drop ceiling, but some areas of the floor on the main level above the unfinished area(s) are quite cold.

  9. bruce Gordon on August 24, 2022 at 2:51 am

Will it work on top of gravel

  10. Kelly Hunter on August 24, 2022 at 2:52 am

Can you use spray foam to fill in gaps in a galvanise shed? At the bottom where the shed comes down past the concrete slab. Can I use it there to prevent water getting in?

  11. russr on August 24, 2022 at 2:53 am

spray brake cleaner down the straw, it will melt out the foam….

  12. Rosa Rodriguez on August 24, 2022 at 2:56 am

  13. Kip Anderson on August 24, 2022 at 2:56 am

Trimming the straws into smaller sections before use is another option for later.

Just put packing peanuts in the wall cavities 🤣🤷

I have question: Can spray foam be used close to a radiator?

I moved into a new basement apartment earlier in the year, and noticed later that there’s spray foam directly underneath the radiator in the washroom. It almost touches the unit.

It runs along the entire base of the radiator.
    Is this safe?

Do crawlspace/basements have to vent? I have a vent that goes to the outside, I’d rather seal it up. Thoughts?

    Hi,

Thanks for a great video. I need to fill in a hole identified my a energy home assessment within my boiler room. Due to fire warnings on foams, I am unclear if loctite products would be something I should use. What would you recommend?

  18. Zac d on August 24, 2022 at 3:02 am

My house is 1900 square foot living and has some moderately tall ceilings. I was charged almost 9k. They sprayed the attic under the roof and all of the walls that are against the outside elements for 9k they didn’t do any interior walls like bedroom walls and stuff. Is that Norma??

  19. Samantha Peck on August 24, 2022 at 3:02 am

I just used some to try to keep an exterior light from continuing to fall out. I’m hoping the tite foam stuff will lock it in place.

  20. Jay Pesca on August 24, 2022 at 3:03 am

This is not a spray foam insulation video. Misleading title. Waste of time.

  21. TONY'S HOBBY CHANNEL 💰 on August 24, 2022 at 3:03 am

  22. 12vLife on August 24, 2022 at 3:04 am

If I use this stuff to sandwich corrugated polycarbonate roof panels cross sectional in a matrix and then fill the edges solid what kind of adhesion and dilapidation can I expect in the Florida Sun, wind and rain over time?

  23. Frank Corral on August 24, 2022 at 3:04 am

Excellent info from your experience in this work. Doing the work right and not by short cuts or "hacks". The do’s and dont’s very helpful. Thank you.👍

  24. Phillip Elmore on August 24, 2022 at 3:06 am

How to get rid of it if it is in hand Foam spare

  29. Frank Rizzo on August 24, 2022 at 3:13 am

I watched this video to see what company was doing the spray foam and low and behold….no spray foam company. Can foam is not spray foam, its canned foam.Spray foam is sprayed with a specialized foam macine,an air compressor, and normally a big diesel generator. Its sprayed at temps that can range from 100f to 130f and also needs pressurized air.Can foam is not spray foam, this is a common misconception, canned foam is basically half pound foam which is an open cell foam so it doesnt technically form an air barrier due to the foam being open cell.Though real spray foam(2lb medium to high density)isnt technically a water seal its actually highly more resistant to water than canned foam.Ive seen home made coolers from 2lb foam that hold water for weeks with no leaks.Water will pass right through open cell canned foam. Also if it was sprayfoam you would need a certified spray foam installer to do the work.Just call it what it is,Canned Foam that anyone can use fairly easy

  31. Charlie Bear on August 24, 2022 at 3:13 am

Is it ok to apply spray foam insulation when the attic is 110 degrees? Will it fully cure? Or will it off gas forever?

  32. oldfashionedmusic on August 24, 2022 at 3:16 am

is ok to use GAPS N CRACKS spray foam as insulation say after window casing rebuild due to leaky window ac repair, to bugproof my manufactured home because i will be having OTA ANTENNA ALSO GOING THRU THE WALL.
i wanna stop bugs n drafts from getting in, BUT TO BE CLEAR NOT JUST ONE SMALL SPOT THE WHOLE WINDOW CASING WHICH ABOUT 12 INCHES HIGH BY 52 WIDE?

  33. Sanjay Patel,MD on August 24, 2022 at 3:19 am

  35. Tom Bowler on August 24, 2022 at 3:20 am

    Great tips, thanks for posting.
    Question for you:
Can spray foam insulation be used to plug hole (4" diameter) in the wall left over from old vented tumble dryers no longer in use, or should I seek alternative solution?

  36. Texas Titan on August 24, 2022 at 3:21 am

Hey I just recently bought a house and in the back yard there’s a janky shed handmade from brick with a tin roof and door. I’d like to be able to store electronics in it however it’s far from weather proof. Would canned spray foam be a good cheap way to weather proof it? I have zero care on how it looks as long as it will protect from rain.

  37. Save Ferris on August 24, 2022 at 3:22 am

What’s the best foam to use behind the stove? To fill a huge gap between the floor and the subfloor to keep out ants.

  38. S K on August 24, 2022 at 3:24 am

    👍

  39. bsandy.com on August 24, 2022 at 3:25 am

I place barbecue sticks on the straw and tooth pick on the handle when the foam is wet, once the foam is dry everything comes out. Then no acetone, and no more purchases.

  40. Rustix Panda on August 24, 2022 at 3:30 am

Question so I have a small ac in my room and it keeps leaking from the bottom and the bottom of it there is like a line where I’m guessing the water is coming out from can I use the foam to stop it from leaking from my room

  41. David Carvolth on August 24, 2022 at 3:31 am

For rats and mice use stainless steel wool, as rats can’t stand chewing it. (Its an old pest controllers method)

  42. Thomas maurer on August 24, 2022 at 3:35 am

stop calling it spray foam its not !!! that is GAP filler , you can use Closed-cell SPRAY FOAM as a Structual .. FYI ..

  43. loiiuse on August 24, 2022 at 3:35 am

That’s not really insulation… that’s using a sealant… not what I’m going for. I’m frustrated! Spray foam insulation is best for basement insulation, but apparently hard to buy and find videos on. Uh. Otherwise, good video btw.

  44. Sonya Erickson on August 24, 2022 at 3:35 am

    Really helpful. Appreciate the DON’T!

  45. p p on August 24, 2022 at 3:38 am

  48. Ramon Castillo on August 24, 2022 at 3:40 am

Looking to temporarily insulate the gaps in a portable AC vent in my window. Is spray foam too durable to remove later? Should I use something like flex tape instead?

  49. Phylips Levine on August 24, 2022 at 3:40 am

Does anyone know how many square feet a 12 ounce can will expand to?

  50. Melanie Sholes on August 24, 2022 at 3:41 am

Your video was straightforward and easy to understand. I feel more confident about filling in cracks around my door.
